Tenna art by @9Aaaalt29 on twt
just saw a sunflower in an urban garden that was so big i had to look up to see the top of it. stem the thickness of my forearm. they had it tied to an electrical pole with a length of twine to keep it balanced. leaves like TWO dinner plates, ten or more alternating pairs, jack and the beanstalk type shit, no sign of stopping. a tree is a somewhat ambiguous growth form botanically speaking and that IS a tree to me
This captures everything I love about being online
told my roommate dracula was an epistolary novel because it’s made up of letters and she was like. of course it’s made of letters it’s a book
Having a "stupider people have done this" attitude about the things you want to do can open so many doors
ive invented (note: dubious claim) something i call the bear diet which is mostly fruits and vegetables with fish as the main protein source and something like once a month you eat a few hyperprocessed foods of your liking because that is when you, the bear, raid a dumpster in the suburbs
after the hyperprocessed foods, do you take tranquilizers to simulate getting captured by animal control and returned to the wild?
i would settle for melatonin gummies but well. knock yourself out
never kill yourself . your next apple could be so good it makes you feel like a horse
oh my GOD i hope no one realizes i have multiple facets
oh thank god…

My latest cartoon for New Scientist
To be clear, this isn't a bit. This is what they actually did. "Its too late" is the new "Climate change isn't real"... And its still a lie!
Every serious climate scientist agrees that there is no such as thing as too late, just as there is no such thing as too early. We should have done a lot more than we have to fight climate change, and the world will suffer for our inaction, but there is no point of no return. We can always work to reduce the amount of suffering that occurs, and eventually turn things around to the point where our planet is healing once again. Do not believe anyone who says it's "too late".
Day 174/365 of listing something good I saw today:
A teen boy in a parking lot got out of a car, holding his elbow up at an odd straight angle, and approached a lamp post with an awkward but cautious gait, and pressed his arm against the lamppost. While it's none of my business what other people do and why, I did wonder what the goal of this exercise is, as he didn't hold his arm up evenly enough for it to be an useful measure for anything, and trying to measure up what spot on the lamp post would be roughly on his shoulder-height didn't seem like a piece of knowledge that would be useful for parking right, or anything else for that matter.
Getting closer while passing by, I saw he had a little friend! He wasn't measuring anything, but carrying a small spider on his forearm, trying to gently persuade the little beastie to climb onto the lamp post instead of running around in the car or on his person.
