warren's fingers curl around the other's arm and he yanks them towards himself as he steps into an empty room. "you gotta stop doing this," he hisses, the line between his brows etched deeper. "you can’t fucking keep tabs on me, you lost that right a long time ago. leave me alone."

the  party’s  crowded  and  the  music  is  loud,  friends  and  strangers’  faces  blending  and  blurring  under  the  neon  lights  of  the  otherwise  dark  venue  as  luna  dances,  barely  aware  of  how  easily  she  gravitates  towards  her  friend,  the  lack  of  eyes  on  them  only  lowering  her  inhibitions  as  she  presses  her  back  to  their  chest,   her  body  swaying  to  the  music.    “you  never  told  me  you  were  this  good  of  a  dancer.  “

josh rolled his eyes, blowing out a ring of smoke himself as he drove with one hand on the steering wheel. "sure," he said, clearly not believing her. "or something else." they might have broken up three months ago, but that didn't mean he was comfortable with her walking around on her own at this time of night...or in this neighborhood. "look, i'll drive you home, make sure you get inside safe, and then you don't ever have to see me again if that's what you want. deal?"

"what's that supposed to mean?," she glares, those big blue eyes of hers finding the side of his face. had this been anyone else, tommie would've started with a thank you, or a so nice of you to give me a ride, but few people are as capable of rubbing her the wrong way as josh has been since their breakup. to an outsider, she's ungrateful - to tommie, she's justified. "ah, my hero. i could've never made it through this dark, scary night without you," she teases. taunts. she's still smiling. her cheeks hollow as she takes another drag. "what're you doing out this late?"

nathalie looked up casually from her place on the lawn chair, as if she had not just been caught trespassing in her neighbor's backyard. the young woman had been watching him for days now and since her own husband was gone more often than he was home, she was bored and feeling daring. at the moment, she was completely naked, stretched out on the lounge, readying herself for a swim in his pool. when he caught her, she sat up, looking quite unashamed. "i didn't mean to scare you," she said sweetly. "it just seemed like such a shame that no one was using this pool. would it really hurt if I put it to some use?" as she spoke, she took a step backward and then turned, stepping into the shallow end of the pool, one step at a time until she was in as deep as her shoulders. finally, she turned back to look at him. "you could join me, you know."

"you hardly scare me," he responds, his head tilting to the side in a curious angle, dark eyes briefly wandering before finding home in her own again. he doesn't respond to the rhetorical question, instead watching as she moves, the sway of her hips as she walks towards the pool. "you do realize you're trespassing, right?" despite his words, there's no real weight to them. diego lets out an amused chuckle. "oh, i have your permission to get in my pool, do i?" he sits on the edge of the lawn char, knees apart and arms resting atop as he leans forward, watching her. "maybe i'll just watch, make sure you're having a safe swim."

"What?" Kashvi lazily opened her eyes, glancing over at the figure standing there yelling. For a second, she was completely disoriented until the afternoon back to her. "Relax, Diego. We were having a little wine afternoon and I must have fallen asleep." Probably...Honestly, she couldn't completely remember the decision to fall asleep. His wife had gone inside to crawl into bed and Kashvi had told her she was heading home but then the sun felt too nice on her skin and here they were.

he raises an eyebrow, hands sliding into his pockets as he looks her over once, humming in response and clicking his tongue. "well, looks like the wine was an overachiever," diego teases, though his expression remains serious. all he does is stare at her for a moment too long, like he's pondering on what he should do. "why don't i give you a ride home?," he suggests, glances back at the house and shrugs his shoulders, looking at kashvi again. "or you can spend the night in our guest room, drive home tomorrow morning?"

Wyatt gave her a side eyed glance for a moment before he looked away from her. He certainly hadn't expected to see her walking down the street so late into the night all by herself. And he knew it wasn't exactly safe for her to do so. He didn't know why she was so down but he could tell that she wasn't in the best of moods. He hadn't said much to her on the drive back until he heard her words which made him turn his attention towards her for a moment. He licked his lips as he watched her before he smiled softly at her words. "Maybe I was trying to be a good friend and give you a ride home from the kindness of my heart. I never said you couldn't handle yourself. At her next words he raised his brows at her for a moment before responding again. "How come ? If it's drinks you want you could have come by place. I am always down to have some drinks with you. " He said to her.

tommie lets out a breathy laugh, lazily rolling her eyes. "sorry, i appreciate that. i'm just... not in the best mood." she wrinkles her nose, exhaling softly before bringing the cigarette to her lips, cheeks hollowing as she takes a drag, exhaling out the window before she looks over at him, the corners of her lips curving up in a small smile. "but the bar has shitty music and obnoxious people, however could we replicate that?," she jokes.

diego raised an eyebrow at his friend. "tommie, you were in the middle of the road, walking like a lunatic at night" he said matter of factly as he rolled down his own window, stealing her cigarette momentarily and taking a drag himself. "you are not going to a bar, miss, you are going to my house, we can eat pizza and you can vent about anything"

"i was definitely not walking like a lunatic, so dramatic." she waves him off, but the corners of her lips curve upwards in amusement. her head lolls to the side against the car seat and she glances over at diego, watching him for a moment before she leans over and plucks the cigarette from his fingers. "that's bad for you," she says, as if it wasn't hers to begin with. taking another drag, tommie beams. "you had me at pizza!"

“your boyfriend,” the label was spoken with uncertainty, though from the looks of the verbal back and forth that occurred moments earlier, nico could only assume that he was. then again, he hadn’t had the chance to steal a look at the other's hand yet. could’ve been their husband. maybe even an ex. regardless, it didn’t stop him from chiming in with his two cents, “is a fucking dick.”

thomasin sighs, rolling her eyes lazily, almost like she doesn't have the energy to commit to the expression. "fiancé, and yes, he's very much a dick." she pokes her tongue out to wet her lips, head lolling to the side to properly look at the man. "did you watch the whole thing?"

the  pool  light  was  on,  that  was  the  first  thing  diego  noticed  as  he  stood  by  the  kitchen  sink  and  he  knew  for  a  fact  that  he  hadn’t  left  it  on.  a  frown  formed  on  his  features  as  he  slowly  made  his  way  out  to  the  back  of  the  house,  moonlight  reflecting  on  the  large  pool  and,  just  as  he  reached  for  the  light,  he  spotted  a  figure  laying  on  the  pool  chaise.    “  jesus  fuckin’  christ,  you  scared  me  half  to  death.  you  can’t  be  here  like  this,  what  are  you  doing?!  “

he hadn’t intended to piss her off with his words so when she started storming off, erik couldn’t help himself but chase after her. “you know that’s not what i meant, luna.” he tries correcting things. a hand running through his hair as footsteps rushed behind her own. “can you come back, please? it’s late… where are you going?” his questions would echo across the hallway as he reached for her wrist, pulling the other back as ocean eyes met with her own. “ “please. please. don’t cause a scene.” maybe deep down he did feel that way about her; that her boredom with him was what let to their downfall, but he knew she wasn’t the only one at fault here. maybe he wasn’t that good in bed, maybe he wasn’t giving her enough attention, enough love – god knows what it was at this point, but he knows she wasn’t the only one at fault even if deep down he felt that way. “you’re not the villain alright? i was… i wasn’t a good husband.” but god knows he was. he wasn’t the one who suggested bringing a third party in. “but you know we can’t just go back to being the two of us after all of that. we’ve both seen things we shouldn’t have seen as a married couple… how can you expect us to go back to what we were?” his brow raised at the other as a soft sigh slipped his lip. “i ask myself that everyday and i… i don’t know. i don’t have an answer but i’m not blaming this on you.” or so he thinks he isn’t.

luna kept walking with all the determination she could muster, her eyebrows pulled together in a frown and her attention everywhere and nowhere at once until her husband’s hand around her wrist caused her to stop. eyes fell shut and luna let out a shaky breath as she slowly turned around to face him, dark hair brushing against her shoulder as head tilted to the side and she looked into erik’s eyes.  “i’m not causing a scene, erik, i’m frustrated.”  and she was. but she was also sad. sad because they had something good, they had something beautiful and it’d been ruined by her, by them... but mostly her. she pulled her wrist free from his grasp gently before placing an equally gentle hand on his bicep, thumb circling the familiar skin there, gaze dropping to follow her own finger’s movements with a slight shake of her head.  “what are you saying?”  she whispered and she knew he was right. as much as she wished they could erase all that had destroyed them and go back to the beginning, they couldn’t.  “do you not want to be with me anymore?”
