Russian 101 with Ilya Rozanov [Part 12]
Не-а. [n'e-ah] - Nope. (very informal)
Like in English, there are neutral and informal ways to agree and disagree. Compare these:
Yes. = Да. [dah]
No. = Нет. [n'et]
Yep. U-huh.= Ага. [agah]
Nope. = Не-а. [n'e-ah]
How to read the Cyrillic: н = "soft", palatalized [n] because it's before "е" е = [e] a = [ah]

No shade, I'd also fall for Shane like Rose Landry
Like, FUCK ME
BOOK SPOILERS: I'm happy that she reacted to the news in a very dignified way, but I'd be heartbroken for a bit, that's for sure. Come on, IT'S SHANE HOLLANDER he's so hot - I can't.
A gentle polite man with doe eyes? FUCK YES
Ilya is very lucky.
Yeah, I get it. xD
I was so happy in the book when she ended up confirming herself to be a soft place for Shane to land, being fine w/ the fact that Shane doesn't necessarily like her in that way as his preferences are elsewhere. I was worried initially that she'd end up being that 'Ugh. I hate this woman'-type when I was first introduced to her in the book. :) Ends up as a good friend, so that's nice.
Russian 101 with Ilya Rozanov [Part 13]
Папа. [papa] - Dad. (a gentle and familiar way to call your father)
Compare with отец here.
You can shorten папа to just па if you address the man directly. There's a softer way: папочка [papachka].
How to read the Cyrillic: п = [p] a = [a]

That day, she Shane was amazed to discover that when he Ilya was saying "As you wish" “you are boring Hollander”, what he meant was, "I love you."
gurl what kind of rivalry is this?
.... heated
ilya in a slutty black tank top who else cheered!!
I need to see it

Ilya isn't just hurt when Shane leaves, when Shane starts dating Rose, when it actually impacts how they play each other. He's embarrassed.
Deeply, painfully embarrassed to have everything he (somewhat poorly) offered thrown back in his face, to be so wrong about another person.
Yeah that was an upsetting part of the book. I felt bad for Ilya.
I teared up simply watching this trailer, so I'mma need several boxes of tissues when I watch this movie. :')
For those of you who don't know, I have loved writing since I was a kid. Since early January I got it in my head that I wanted to attempt putting together a story I could post episodes/chapters of on YouTube after seeing many other channels doing something similar.
I don't expect to get much attention, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only episode I ever end up writing, but I wanted to at least see through giving this a shot. After countless rewrites and startovers I have finally posted the first part of this series(?).
It would mean a lot to me if you would pop over there and watch it and let me know what you think in the comments. I put a lot of work into it. xD Please take it easy on me though. It has been YEARS since I've written anything so I'm a little rusty.
i think if your account has existed on this site for a certain number of years you should be grandfathered into ad free browsing. a decade seems reasonable like if you signed up in 2012 or prior you have tenure

So I took this "who do you write like?" test back in elementary to see if my writing style compared to any famous authors out there and way back then I got Neil Gaiman.
At the time I was quite excited to know this. (Never read one of his books btw, so I wouldn't even know if his writing is, imo, any good, but no denying he was popular.)
Obviously it's come to light that he's a piece of shit, and so for whatever reason I thought to take a similar test again. For sure it wasn't the same one. It's been so long. But it promised the same result, if you plunk in some of your writing.
I'm currently working on a story I plan to post to YT if I can ever get it polished enough where I feel like it's ready to do so, and I took this test just for fun. I hoped for a better result.
I still got the same answer. On the one hand it's interesting to see that my style is so similar to how it was years ago, but also, I was really hoping for another result for obvious reasons. *sighs*
