a vague sort of follow-up to my recent noelle drawing. i wanted to give kris a cute outfit too
Assassin's Creed Mirage dropped the ball with combat so hard and the biggest issue is that it's just so fucking slow. I don't need fuckin DMC level combat or anything like that, but looking at a game like Breath of the Wild which has a simple combat system, it's just so much more fun. Hit the attack button and Link attacks. Hold it down and he charges a heavy attack/spins depending on weapon type. Target and dodge correctly to create an opening. Parry with your shield to create an opening, and the last hit on your basic combo usually staggers the enemy. It's simple, but it's quick on the draw and feels satisfying and the issue with Mirage is that it's neither of those things. All of the animations are slow so nothing is quick on the draw, and enemies don't reasonably stagger most of the time so it doesn't feel like there's any impact. They don't even need to emulate BOTW, that would honestly be a bit much, especially for a game that emphasizes stealth this much, but goddamn do I just wish it felt more satisfying then this.
As I play it more and get used to it, it's not *as* bad as I felt at first, but even still it's one of the worst combat systems I've personally played in a game and that's really unfortunate. Honestly though, it reflects well on the game that despite this glaring flaw, I still really enjoy it.

Playing Metroid Prime 4 picked me up from my creative dry spell, and I just have to whip this up! Will be drawing more of Armstrong soon!

Because I like torturing myself, I've been thinking a lot about what Roman's arc can be, and I think I've got it. His arc for this reign has to be that when the chips are down and the pressure is on as world champion, he reverts back to the mass manipulator.
I wanna see him slowly try and fight against that instinct and fail, to the point where his family leaves him AGAIN. And it needs to start with Jacob, he needs to do to Jacob what he did to Jey, but get pulled out of it by the Usos. Despite that, as the reign goes on, he needs to slowly slip back into that role until his family berates him for having not changed in the slightest. So they leave him, and come SummerSlam, one of 2 people show up.
Oba Femi, or Bron Breakker.
Either one would work. I'd prefer Femi but Bron would make more sense for a different story with the vision and Seth Rollins. Regardless, Roman's arc needs to be him realizing that at the end of the day, he's not really cut out to be champion because the power of it changes him for the worse every time he holds it. So instead, he decides to walk away.

Shadow: How many more badniks do you want me to smash?
Omega: More badniks.
Shadow: How much more GUN resources do you want me to waste?
Omega: More resources
Shadow: But... but I'm the ultimate lifeform...
Omega: But are you a different hedgehog, and the same lifeform?
Shadow: What the fuck does that mean, E-123 Omega?
Omega: You're welcome.
Shadow (turns to Rouge): What the fuck is he talking about?
So. Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition leaked, and my head has been swirling with ideas on how it could be improved. Now, before I start. Do i expect any of these in the game? No, not really. I would honestly be shocked if they were implemented. Realistically this is just a reprint and switch 2 edition, maybe with the Soap Shoes or some kind of extras mode thrown in as a free update.
HOWEVER
This could also be something really fuckin special. So here's my absolutely insane pipe dream for Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition. I'm approaching this like it's Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal. Essentially a soft remake that paves over all the issues of the original. Although if that is the case, Sega you better not delist OG Frontiers. I mean it. Keep them both up. Also i don't expect any of this, this post is just for fun lol. With that aside, here we go:
1) Improved Graphics.
I think this one is actually somewhat likely. While I don't expect them to change the art direction, and honestly I wouldn't want them to, I do think there's room for little improvements. Maybe better and less stuff animation like in Shadow Gens, better shadows, updated models for the characters, fix some textures like on trees, and the big one: finally fix the atrocious pop-in. You can have low LOD versions of rails and platforms that load into the full HD versions when you get close. It's a simple change and it would make the game just feel so much less cheap. Especially in Final Horizon. While I love the platforming towers in that game, the fact is it gets in your way sometimes with how things will only appear when you're 2 feet in front of them.
2) Skill Trees
First off, everyone in Final Horizon should have their basic attack options and the cyloop unlocked by default. For the most part the rest of the new character skill trees can remain the same but the fact that you can't attack by default with them is ridiculous. Also. Put the Spindash in the skill tree. Hell, make it part of the moves you unlock as you traverse the islands. Sonic can obtain it in Ouranos the way he gets the cross slash, for example. And speaking of Ouranos
3) Ouranos visual overhaul.
Now I think the level design in Final Horizons is actually pretty good. That's not what I mean by overhaul. I mean that I want Ouranos to have its own unique aesthetic. The easy answer here is a snowy biome, like the Snowy Ouranos mod. Just that alone would make Ouranos feel more like it's own thing instead of Kronos part 3.
4) Revamp extreme mode
Extreme mode in base Frontiers is probably my biggest disappointment. It sucks, frankly. It's just a 1 hit kill mode, and while that can be *kind* of fun it more often then not is just annoying to me. If you made extreme mode a proper challenge by upgrading all of the enemies to the + variants from Final Horizon, swap the parry for the perfect parry in every instance, give stricter time limits on puzzles, and lower the S rank times even further then they already are, I think that would be perfect.
5) Integrate Final Horizon better.
I would honestly just have Final Horizon replace the entire last island. I'd make it so that on Easy/Normal it's more in line with the rest of the islands, with simpler platforming. On Hard/Extreme though? Just hear me out. Every island gets revamped. It should still be a natural difficulty curve, but they will have harder platforming, with less automation and handholding until it ends with Final Horizon. Then, Rhea Island, instead of ending with Sonic dying, ends with the gang giving up their bodies to hold off the cyber corruption, just like in Final Horizon. Basically the entire cutscene of Sage explaining the 2nd option happens, but on the tower while Sonic is dealing with the corruption. Then, it would immediately lead into Final Horizon as it is. This way, it feels so much smoother going in instead of the kinda weird stop and start when you hop from Rhea to FH.
6) Misc changes.
I've gotten most of the big ones out of the way so I'm gonna rattle off a few more here before we get to the last one: Shadow Gens control in Cyberspace. Big's fishing hole should be on the menu. Even if it doesn't benefit me I wanna fish whenever I want. A more dynamic title screen. Making pinball fucking optional because of that stupid score requirement. And last but not least: Allow me to play as any character on any island or in any cyberspace stage after beating the game.
7) A story change.
I'm in the camp of Frontiers' story is actually pretty good. While it's not my favorite Sonic story, it's a bit too melodramatic in places and has one GLARING flaw (which I will get to), it's really not the worst. I like it, in fact! But, there's one thing that's wrong with it, and unfortunately it's the emotional crux of the story. Sage and Eggman's dynamic is not nearly fleshed out enough. They barely feel like father and daughter to me and that stupid scene with that fuck ass song where Sage is reminiscing on nothing happening falls completely flat. It's the one part of the story I would call straight up bad. So what would I do? For one, the egg memo's are now mandatory cutscenes. These short memos genuinely flesh out Eggman's thought process so much and the fact that they're missable is crazy. I didn't listen to them until well after my first like 5 playthroughs. On top of that, he needs more moments with Sage where he's being tender, or doing ANYTHING except yelling at her. Have a scene of him praising how hard she's working, and despite his ego, telling her it's okay she hasn't found him a way out yet. Just give them something, man! Idk, it's easy to say "just make it better" but that really is the crux here. Also cut that scene with Sage reminiscing. Like, have her talk about her emotions to herself and then end it before the montage and let the subtext speak for itself. If I could only choose one of these changes to be put into the game, it would genuinely be this one. It's the biggest glaring flaw in Frontiers to me. I already love the gameplay. This part of the story is just bad, I'm sorry.
That said, those are my ideas. I don't expect any of this to come true, but hey. It's fun to think about, and I can dream, right?
tgirl about to sleep with duke nukem: Duke... I'm trans. Are you okay with that?
Duke Nukem: (guitar riff) I've never met a girl who wasn't for me (guitar riff again) and today isn't the day I do
Just beat MGS Delta again, this time on Hard, and I had a thought about the death scene for The Boss
I bought this game on PS5, and when you have to pull the trigger to kill off The Boss, R2 has tension thanks to the adaptive triggers. When I noticed that the first time, it made me hesitate to pull the trigger. It almost put me in Snake's shoes, thinking "I'm really about to kill this person." I dunno, it's a cool moment and the controller adds to it. Kinda makes me wish the other consoles had adaptive triggers as well, but. Y'know
the "eh im not really into stealth games" to "i wanna kiss big boss so badly" pipeline is kinda crazy
So, the MGS trilogy. Obviously there's a buncha spinoffs and stuff but these are the 3 I've played so far. And I think they're all pretty good. But I have some notes.
First off, MGS1, which I retroactively give an 8/10. While the gameplay is the most dated, I think it's story is the best out of all of these games. Even with the dated PS1 graphics the game just has such a good atmosphere. Plus, the gameplay is well suited to what it's trying to do, so it evens out.
MGS2 I'm gonna give a 6/10. I think the story is very interesting, especially the commentary on AI (which, everyone says this but it's crazy how this game came out 20+ years before the boom of AI and yet predicted so much of it), but the gameplay man. It's just such a limp game. The actual mechanics are really good and stand head and shoulders above MGS1, but the actual scenarios don't leave a lot of room for those mechanics to shine. So yea, 6/10. Excellent story, but the gameplay, while not awful by any means, is a bit meh because of how it's designed.
MGS Delta I think is my favorite overall. While I think it has the weakest story (that doesn't mean bad, the story alone is still like an 8/10), the gameplay is excellent here. Everything just feels so perfectly smooth and fine tuned. Not sure how the original is since I played the remake, but this game absolutely can stand next to games coming out now. There are some performance issues though. I personally played in performance mode and noticed quite a few frame drops, and sometimes the resolution wasn't great. Not enough to ruin the game, but enough to be noticeable. I think my biggest disappointment though is the Cobra Unit bosses. Not the gameplay of them, they're all pretty good, but the characters themselves. Maybe the point was for them to be kinda campy, but unlike in MGS1 or 2, I didn't feel much of anything towards these characters. The way "The End" dies especially. It took me out of an otherwise excellent scene. Luckily, the other characters are mostly really well done. Eva is an interesting character, and I appreciate that her ending justifies how sexualized she is. What feels like fan service in the moment is just part of her job plot wise (it can feel kinda fanservice-y though). Ocelot is gay as shit and I love him for it. The final duel him and Snake have is lovely. Snake himself is amazing. I think I actually like Big Boss more then Solid Snake in some respects. Volgin was honestly not super interesting though. Imposing, definitely, but idk. As a character he doesn't do a ton for me. Because of that, I say this game has the weakest story overall. But the final moment with The Boss, and Eva's monologue in the end ties it up neatly, and like I said, the gameplay in Delta is excellent, making it my favorite so far.
8.5/10. Will replay soon
Solid and Liquid snakes were clones of Big Boss with Solid getting the Recessive and Liquid getting the Dominant genes, but there's also solidus snake who was the perfect clone of Big Boss. Big boss is also known as Naked Snake and he had a medic become brainwashed into THINKING that he was big boss when in actuality he's a plastic surgery patient with implanted memories so he thinks he's Big Boss and people call him venom snake.
Did I get all that or am I still missing pieces of this puzzle? 😭
Hey guess what.

Yo Soy Boricua. 💙🇵🇷
I got it.
Triple H is often called Triple K because of his association with Trump but what if that's just a cover story? What if he's called Triple K to hide the fact that Hunter Hearst Helmsley is not who we think he is. Think about it Triple K. TK. Tony Kahn. That's right. AEW isn't a different promotion. Its actually the second coming of black and gold NXT. How you may say how? Tony Kahn and Triple H look nothing alike. How are they the same person? Its simple. Triple H has connections in the government. He entered Area 51 and cloned himself, changing his look through extensive plastic surgery so he could look a lot more handsome and then created a second company to rival WWE. Now, you may ask. Why is the booking style so different? Simple again. Tony Kahn spent years around the world learning about different types of wrestling. He came back completely different from Triple H. Because of this, his booking style is different in AEW, but his tastes are still very similar. Why do you think so many black and gold NXT stars made it over to AEW? Its because Tony Kahn is reconnecting with the people he knows from his past as the booker of NXT. Now. The last question. Why do WWE and AEW have dry spells? Its simple Tony Kahn and Triple H have a symbiotic relationship. When one is down the other is up. This is also why WWE and AEW can't collab. If they stay in the same space for too long, they'll both explode like Fredbear in FNAF world. So instead, they pretend to hate each other so the collab can never happen, while secretly trading wrestlers to make sure dream matches can still happen across promotions. The CM Punk scandal? Planned. Its a work to give Punk the opportunity to have new dream matches in WWE. Checkmate Atheists.
