resurrection stone 

anyways I thought it was kinda dumb that they were so chill with Harry going to get himself killed so here’s my theory that the stone just wants u to off urself ://

That's literally canon though. Like the reason dumbledore gave harry the stone was so he would actually go do what he wanted the boy to go do. When we learn about the three brothers, it's mentioned that the lover of the brother with the resurrection stone came back different. And she was so sad that eventually the brother joined her.

Deaths goal was to collect the souls he felt were due to him and so he gave the brothers exactly what they asked for but in a way that would bring them to him. The resurrection stone was a part of this as it only conjured a 'shade' of the brother's dead lover. She is explicitly stated for being the reason he dies.

Ergo, the 'people' that harry sees from the stone are likely not actually his family. They are just shades of them conjured up to lead him to his death.

The resurrection stone is meant as a lure into death. By giving Harry the stone in the snitch that only reveals itself when he's on his way to his death. Albus has ensured the boy goes through with it!

ik it's not worth getting into an online fight with marvelheads but i am feeling gaslit by how few people picked up on how misogynistic and dangerous the narrative of fantastic four is...

like yes, retro-futuristic aesthetics are very fun and cool to look at but.... setting a story in an idealized version of the 1960s that is primarily about family values and motherhood is.... actively concerning. especially right now

The way Superman depicted complicit civilians is gonna stick with me.

Because usually when you have your villain, usually the civilians working for them are gonna be largely faceless or cowed. And then when the hero crashes the scene, only the armed goons are taken out while said civilians flee to remove any questions.

In here though, you can tell they all enjoy working for Luthor. The technicians in his hq have fun plugging in directions to Ultraman. And those in the base camp wear tropical shirts while listening to music and playing games on their downtime. Nobody is working with rigid confirmity nor are there moral reservations (the only objection shown was when his obsession almost got them killed).

So when Mr. Terrific arrived on the scene, it is actually fitting that he wiped out the workers alongside the armed goons.

Also the way Superman's fellow prisoners not only attempted to snitch on him but actually tried to out snitch each other deserves a whole other analysis.

I really liked that detail, what I liked even more is that even the goons were humanized. Superman beats up the raptors but no more than they deserve. One of Luthor's scientists admonishes people about safe evacuation. All of Luthor's prisoners still get to escape, including the ones that tried to snitch. It's proof that anyone can do bad things under the right circumstances, but that doesn't make them less human. We get to see the prisoners reunite with their loved ones, even if they made bad choices while imprisoned. I think that's a really powerful message.
