CW: Death, violence, War and More.
The smoke hit them first, the fire after. The bodies of their companions slumped over the barren landscape as the radiation seemed to pour from every hole in the ground.
No one knew what the time was, only that this war had gone on for awhile, possibly years, at least it felt like it. The only indication that time was passing was the slow sinking of the moon and the violent rising of the sun.
Why were they even fighting? It was simple, there wasn't a choice. No where was safe, not the nearby villages, not the most far continent. The whole world was being destroyed and there was nothing they could do about it.
They tried to fight against governments of other places, they tried to fight their own, yet it never ended well. Nuclear warfare was now common.
Each day, a new weapon was dropped and a place was wiped off the face of the world. The Continent of North America was the first to go, the many bombs collapsing the land down into the water, creating a large crater that replaced it.
The current fight was crowded and despite the growing realization that they were just being used as toys in a war that didn't matter, they couldn't stop, there was nothing to go back to.
It was then that a faint blue entity in the distance, catching the eye of one strange guard, as if it was the sun itself. He stood confused yet terrified of this object before his attention turned away towards the sound of his comrades shouting in vain for him to run.
The land was struck, a bright light cascading around from the point of impact, the land itself being torn and destroyed, the sky no longer present and the people he saw moments prior wiped without a trace. In this short amount of time, he looked at his hands, watching as the light consumed him as well, ripping the skin from his bones.
His shoulders sank and a strange feeling of calm rushed over him in these final moments. His body going limp.
The light continued and it was then that the attacker, along with the rest of the human race realized that this was the true end.
Wiped from existence.
------------------------------------
The world was nothing. No land, sky or air. What remained behind, being random objects and organic matter, was a miracle if anything.
The world was now a void. Depleted of any signs of life.
Hovering over the void world was now a blue entity, who seemed to carelessly float around before stopping at what it believed to be the center of this world. It's form seemed to flow like air itself, it's form wavering in and out of view.
It was time for this void to start a new, the entity knew this and allowed the void to repair itself with it's guidance.
There was no trees, no animals, but there was something without a form, appearing in the center of the void.
A new life.
