Rather than replying with written words at first, he showed her his response by shaking his his head and sticking out his tongue at her, albeit playfully. Only then did he write in his notebook again - I usually start choking.
Arya giggled. “Choking? On what?”
“Sure. It doesn’t do much for me, so someone else might as well have it.”
“Thank you.” She smiled, taking the ballon and hugging it gently to her chest.
“Oh really? I thought I wasn’t too bright.” He said mimicking her tone from earlier in the conversation with a slight laugh.
“Well...maybe you’re a little better than I thought.”

Grey managed half a smile, glad she appeared to forgive him for his stupidity. I That was all he wrote before the tip of the pen came to a quivering halt, a sudden realization coming to mind. He hadn’t spoken since he was eleven until he came to this place, and had, as such, ruined the only good thing he’d ever done. Goddammit. can’t, not around most people. The end of his sentence came a bit late, but it still arrived on the page.
Arya stared at home as he wrote. It was weird having to talk to someone by reading what they wanted to say. “I’m sorry. Why not? Do you not have a tongue?”
“I’ve got some fucked up personality thing and, I’m sort of an addict; oops.” Brendan replied, shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly.Â
“Yeah me too. What’s your poison? What are you addicted too?”
“Well then that’s where it’ll go.” He smiled at her
“Thank you so much.” She hugged him again. “You are really nice. I see why Sissy likes you.”
“You do need to rely on yourself and be independent.”Â
“I don’t want to be.”
“She may, but you can’t rely on your sister for always. You need to learn to rely on yourself.”Â
“No, I don’t need to. I just need Hudson.”
“Excuse me?” Brendan raised a brow at the girls question, wondering why she’d want to know what’s wrong with him.
“You heard me.”
“Yeah, I don’t see why not. Do you have some place to put it up?”
“I want it over my bed.”
“I don’t know what that means.”
“The reason you are here needs to find a way to be resolved and if you were to stay in the same room as Hudson, it will never be that way.”Â
"I want Hudson. She helps."

Arya pushed herself into a sitting position once he was off of her. “Hi. I’m Arya. Why were you running?”
He withdrew a notebook from his pocket, writing a response with mild haste so as to not keep her waiting too long. I’m Grey. I was running for exercise. Again, sorry for running into you.
Arya leaned forward, reading the paper. "It's okay. I didn't get hurt. Why don't you talk?"
“Then we won’t do it anymore. I just want her in my room again. I don’t like being without her.”
“I’m sorry, but we still can’t do that. It’s not allowed and would only make you regress further in your treatment. You’re just going to have to trust me, okay?”Â
"I don't know what that means."
“Can I put it in my room?” She asked, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.
“Of course, just don’t touch it until it dries.” He said with a slight smile
"Okay. Will you help me hang it up later?"
“I’d rather make myself pass out repeatedly for the rest of my life instead of being here but, – Don’t think anyone’s gonna let me.”
"What's your poison?" Hudson asked.
“Yes, I know itʻs late. But, what are you doing up this late? Iʻm trying to nab that guitar, but I could always use an accomplice.”
"Flash and Gordon won't let me sleep." Ian mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "Which guitar?"
“Oh, one of the younger patients gave it to me just before they left. You can have it, if you want.”
"I can?" Arya asked with a smile, reaching out to take the shiny balloon.
