villains with tragic backstories
someone: wait why can’t you hang out later?
me:
introverts everywhere.
Why "The Hunger Games" matter.
The Mockingjay? A poor girl.
The guy who saved her life? A generous black poor boy.
Her first inspiration to be the Mockingjay? A sweet black poor girl.
The person who transformed the heroine into the Mockingjay? A talented black man.
District 13 president? A determined woman.
District 13 chief of security? A kind-hearted black man.
District 13 chief of technology? An extremely intelligent black man. In a wheel chair.
Panem’s next president, which will also bring back democracy? A woman. A black one. A very courageous and fair one.
The best TV director from the Capitol? A talented woman.
Her main assistent? A black man.
One of the camera men? A mute poor guy.
OMG AN WHITE, STRAIGHT (?), CISGENDER (?) GUY! But nah, he was a poor one. Still a minority.
Just like Gale.
And Peeta (also, he doesn’t have a leg, but we’re talking movie *sigh*, so…).
And the character who was forced into prostitution was… a guy, not a girl.
Wait, where are the [irony] good men [/irony], the white, middle/rich class, cisgender, straight ones, not disabled, not opressed ones? Here’s one:
I know there have been white-washing and I know it’s still not perfect at all. But way to go, The Hunger Games. That’s why this series means so much to me.
I think the reason Ed Sheeran is actually my favorite person ever to exist is because there is literally no drama with him. He’s just like a happy little cupcake with colorful tattoos and writes music and gets really drunk and has fun and I just love Ed
#my favorite ed sheeran story is the one where my friend met him on the bus in boston #she was like ‘uhh whatcha doing?’ #and he shrugged and said ‘going to my show’ #like that’s p much the most ed sheeran thing to have ever happened and i love it
I sat to Ed Sheeran on a plane to New York City one time and he wouldn’t stop telling me about this mermaid documentary he saw on The Discovery Channel.
y’all remember in Inglorious Bastards when the nazis all go to see the movie about the “war hero” who sniped tons of jews and was esteemed in the military and by hitler for it?
that’s literally exactly American Sniper sorry
eli roth, who made the short film for inglourious basterds that that nazis watch in the theater, has actually pointed out this connection which i find so fucking incredible
And it worked, sadly. After the release of American Sniper, attacks on muslims by Americans skyrocketed.
I would work there
duckindolans
straight boys are weak and pathetic, queer girls walk into the ladies changing room and see ten women naked, do they stare? do they say something inappropriate? do they make them uncomfortable? no because they have the common fucking sense to recognise when a situation is sexual and that people deserve the most basic level of respect to not be harassed, yet here we are banning shorts and low cut tops in school because straight boys are weak and pathetic
okay i made this post this morning and it has since had eighty two thousand notes, it’s been featured on reddit, facebook, twitter i’ve been sent multiple death threats and messages that i don’t even want to describe
and i have to apologise
i’ve seen the error of my ways
straight boys are not ’weak and pathetic’
straight boys are weak, pathetic and fucking annoying
I will reblog this every time I see it posted
…again, I could say so much but won’t.
And it’s usually hidden. I have seen firsthand how they close ranks.
I used to volunteer in a shelter, there were women there who were hundreds of miles from home because they had to flee the state where their ex was a cop & avoid any states where they had cop friends.
This is too much.
Kevin Allen, a 36 year old black man, has been shot and killed inside a library. A library of all places. What would it take for everyone to see that the cops are actually coming for black people?
He was described as a quiet man who frequented the library and liked to watch videos and listen to music at the computer stations. He was shot around 1:35 PM and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
How are the racists gonna justify this? Black people getting killed shouldn’t ever be some commonplace occurrence we should just have to accept. This is an epidemic. This can’t be the world we live in.
Cops would kill black people for buying (allegedly stealing) cigarettes, wearing a hood, jaywalking, being in a library, playing with a toy, sleeping, the list goes on and on.
It’s as if white people just want black people to stop existing.
I knew there was evil in the world, but I would’ve never imagined anything like this explosion of racism since August 9th could ever be possible again. And the sheer fact that white people are not only ignoring and disregarding this genocide, but they’d even go to great lengths to justify it.
How does it feel, looking for reasons to justify murder? Aiyana Jones was only seven. Tamir Rice, only twelve.
Racism is far from over. Kevin Allen, along with the thousands of innocent black people killed in less than one year, never deserved to be forgotten.
This is unjustifiable.
How in the hell can you even fabricate a cause in a library?

cut my hair! (baby’s first cosplay)
about 1 year ago - another hair cut
the first selfie i ever posted (10 months ago)
the past two months
i honestly never thought i’d be happy with how i look but i’ve come so far and i’ve gained a lot of confidence! i still have a ways to go though.
this thing is a little outdated……
bleached my hair for the first time ever and ended up ginger…
after bleaching again
and now this timeline is up to date!
since it’s trans day of visibility (and also coincidentally transformation tuesday) i thought i’d update this again!
i accidentally dyed my hair purple….
but even with purple hair i feel more confident and masculine every day. @ all u trans kids out there: don’t give up. it’ll get better. i believe in you.
this is beautiful
This is why people should support Trans people. They are confident.
They didn't know I speak Chinese too
So I’m a white Caucasian female, but I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English. Now, looking at me, you wouldn’t know I can speak Mandarin, which is why I find it absolutely hysterical to mess with people when they come through my line speaking Chinese, and I understand every word their saying. My co workers find it especially hysterical.
Okay, so the other day this Chinese couple came through my line, and I asked them (in english) all of the questions about the bags and if they had their rewards cards, all of that fun stuff.
Anyway, I started ringing up their stuff, and the wife said to her husband “Tell her not to bruise the bananas” in Chinese, and i didn’t say anything. The wife said “tell the stupid girl to go faster” in mandarin. I smiled at her and pretended like I had no idea what she was saying.
She kept commenting on how my hair was like a boys (I have short hair, its honestly not even that short) and how her grandfather would have gone faster than I was going, all of this in chinese.
and then, she said “make sure she doesn’t forget the water” in chinese, and I replied in English, “I won’t forget the water”
And i watched with enjoyment as a look of sheer terror spread across her face, as she realized I understood everything she had said before. She just stood there with her mouth open and her husband said (in chinese) “This is why you shouldn’t trash talk employees while their standing right in front of you” And i replied (in english) “He’s right”
They paid, the husband apologized, and left. After they walked out the door my manager and co worker and I were laughing so hard, even though being a cashier sucks, it sometimes makes my day a little brighter when something like that happens.
