71 year old woman being made homeless so BBC Ghosts fans can stay in her house
Baschea Walsh says she feels "absolutely sick" to leave the cottage on the estate where the hit sitcom was filmed.
So a 71 year old woman is being evicted from her home of 20 years so the land owner can capitalise on the fame of West Horsley Place, where Ghosts (2019-2023) was filmed, and turn her nearby cottage into a holiday let for Ghosts fans. This amazingly against the spirit of the show and fandom.
If you're a fan of Ghosts or just generally don't like to see people made homeless for profit, consider emailing:
Oh, and if this goes ahead and Ms Walsh is evicted, there has to be a blanket fandom boycott of this rental property, because this is absolutely foul.
A template (this is what I sent). Do change the wording, otherwise they’ll disregard it as one person sending a hundred messages. It’s important to say that by doing this they will LOSE money. That we would visit otherwise but if this happens we won’t.
To whom it may concern,
I am messaging regarding the recent BBC article stating that you are planning to evict a pensioner from her home on the estate to create a holiday let.
This is clearly immoral, to remove someone who is paying rent and has done so nearly twenty years for the sake of a profit seeking holiday home. There are plenty of hotels and air bnbs, there is no need for another.
This goes against the spirit of the BBC Ghosts show, and as a fan, I would certainly never stay at the cottage or visit the estate if this goes ahead, as I could not condone such behaviour. I would very much like to visit the estate as I loved the series, but I will absolutely not be doing so if the eviction goes ahead.
Kind regards,
