It was just another lazy Sunday with me reading a really interesting book about dragons killing aliens. So this dragon got his tailed cut by a beast and..Ding-dong... , goblins-crap, a guest ! What kind of person comes on a Sunday at 8 am ? Not a welcomed one, that’s for sure. My Mom was downstairs near the kitchen while I snuggled back into my bed so I can fake sleeping if someone does bother to come up here. Heard some murmuring but couldn’t distinguish who it was. Footsteps on the stairs made me uneasy. Why now ? I sort of knew who it was but she wasn’t what I wanted to be surrounded by right now ! The door flung open. “Get out that stupid bed you piece of lazy shit, I know you are not sleeping ,“ Sarah shouted at me. “Oh for god’s sake, what the hell do you want at this point of the day?,” I shouted back. “ We are going to the amusement park ! I texted you last night !” she said with a confused expression.I have been reading the book all night, I didn’t check my phone ! “ I can’t right now, I am far too busy,” I said picking up my novel and showcasing it like it was a trophy. But I knew her enough to know from her expression she wasn’t going to have it any other way. So I sighed heavily, lifted my blanket and went for a shower.
She was waiting for me on the road just outside my home in her old dusty god knows which car. I was thankful anyways, at least one of us had a car. I might have imagined it but she gave a slight smile on sighting me and then we were on the way. “ So how did the idea of amusement park suddenly pop in your head?” I sighed out. Even after a shower I wasn’t ready for hellish skydiving or something like that. “Oh, I won two tickets in a freaking biscuit !” she chuckled. “ In a biscuit ? What kind of biscuit was that ? Eat me not ?” I said flatly. She rolled her eyes and drove on without a word.
So apparently the amusement park was called ‘The Last Ride’. How terrifying. Checked in our tickets and entered a very noisy place with lots of lights. I hate noisy places. Well, we went about the park and played some games like throwing a ball in a net and shooting things to win. I was starting to have some fun. Then there it was. The biggest Roller Coaster I have ever seen. Not only in height but in length. I couldn’t even see the other end of it. And the speed of it ! It could have been a bullet of a train size ! The sound of it, like a sci-fic sonic space shuttle where you can only hear a metal rubbing on metal sound. Definitely not going to ride this. “ We are going on that,” Sarah declared. Oh, this is bad. As much I would love to not go on that, I hate to argue with her. Not sure why. “Let’s go then,” I approved trying to hide my nervousness. She sat right beside me as we were tightened into our seats. My life is over. This was the end, wasn’t it ? I turned to my right to see how cheerful Sarah was. Smiling and giving short chuckles every now and then. That’s how she always is, no matter where and how we were. I loved her for that. 3,2,1. Alarm. It started slow, very slow compared to what I heard. It was starting to gain speed now. I wasn’t feeling nervous or frightened anymore. With Sarah, everything seemed to be easy. She was randomly making cheering sounds for I don’t know who. Maybe it’s something you do on Roller Coaster. She knows these kind of things. I don’t know how she knows but she does. We went around two circles at high speed shifting our body left and right. The Roller Coaster slowed again and now it was ascending to heavens. I couldn’t see below me of course and we were going vertically up into the sky. I couldn’t see the end of the rail. When will it bend ? Still going. What did I get myself into. The first car just disappeared now. We have reached it. And then we were on the top. This was high, extremely high for a Roller Coaster, some of the towers were below us. I gasped at the view. It was beautiful. Everything looked so small and beautiful from up here. I looked at Sarah and she was already staring at me,smiling. “Okay, I will admit, it’s beautiful” I murmured. The drop was coming. Out of instinct or as a reflex we both took our hands out to hold each others at the same time. I didn’t notice it at that point. I took a deep breath. I was looking at vertical drop so deep ending in a shark’s mouth. Not cool. We fell into our graves for sure. The air around us turned into wind as it was piercing my skin and my eyes. The wind forced a stupid grin on my face. Sarah’s hairs were flowing like a dandelion. If you traveled fast enough, you can travel through time. That seemed to be true. Time did slow down here. I remember every nano second of it. There was a huge jerk and we were flat again but this monster wasn’t slowing down. We went into another loop and then another. Then through two circles while our bodies danced like puppets. I was having vomiting sensations now. Sarah laughed and laughed. I was enjoying this. It was thrilling but my body seemed to think otherwise. The Roller Coaster screeched and we finally came to a halt. Its over. Thank God we lived. This was my first and last time on this ! Never getting back on this, no matter how ‘fun’ it was. I took enough fun from this to last a life time. “This was amazing ! Let’s go for another round !” Sarah blurted out. “Okay,” I said.
