📣 Post Sproloquio per dire: ma quanto è bello parlare di libri così? Litigarsi un personaggio, cercare di capire le scelte discutibili della protagonista, calcolare aperture alari... Lo adoro. E vi adoro! 🖤 Io e @franlu81 siamo notoriamente lente. Scegliamo con cura ogni libro che leggiamo perché appunto, il tempo è quello che è! 🐌 Succede che un giorno (settimana scorsa) @angelicemary ci obbliga con la forza ad iniziare La Corte di Rose e Spine. Pensiamo, 'mal comune mezzo gaudio' e iniziamo a leggerlo insieme. Il primo carino, ma il seguito 🎉🎆🎆✨ Le pagine scorrono via veloci, ci rincorriamo, ormai la prima cosa che ci chiediamo è "dove sei arrivata?" qualcuno viene anche minacciato perché legge troppo e...finiamo anche il secondo. 📚 Abbiamo iniziato il terzo e ci stiamo già disperando perché si avvicina la fine. Nel frattempo @feelerpaola e @ealasaidfraser ormai stremate da tutto il nostro ciarlare, cancellano gli impegni e iniziano anche loro la serie. 😅 Si aggiunge @lizeli82 e poi @raff.duk bon... Wait who the hell is this ACOFAS Cassian?

Just finished this novella. Who the hell is this imposter pretending to be Cassian and where is the real one? Cassian was a favorite of mine in the main series. But it felt like SJM pulled the wool over our eyes in ACOSF. I was a bit disappointed in how he treated Nesta in this book, and hated that it didn't line up with how we were presented with him the previous books. He tells Rhysand: Cassian: "She is playing bullshit games"

I was bewildered at Cassian's conclusion here about Nesta when in wings and embers it was clear he could see that she puts up walls to keep out of fear. He understood Nesta so completely in that short story, but suddenly he can’t see through her facades at all? Seemed more like he gave up on her and then agreed she was a nuisance they needed to deal with. I hated that Cassian seemed to reach the same conclusion about her that everyone else did. He should be different. I get that we need to build something tense and angsty for the next book, but seemed out of character. 

Cassian: “You should change your sheets between males”

This didn't feel like concern for her health as much as it felt like shaming. He is the only one who knows she was sexually assaulted by Tomas, so her sleeping with randos despite this is a red flag that I expected Cassian to address more sensitively. I just didn't understand why SJM choose to turn Cassian into an insensitive idiot this novella. Also, the inner circle sleeps around and wears those badges proudly. But when Nesta does it, it’s shameful?

At solstice, Nesta showed up, didn't make a scene like everyone assumed she would and felt super isolated from everyone the whole time. Cassian didn’t speak to her the entire evening but when she leaves, he decides to storm after her? Then there is his oh so charming line “your sisters love you, I can’t for the life of me understand why, but they do”. Why in the world would he say this? It’s such a cruel thing to say to someone you love who is in a dark place? I didn’t like that.

Anyone else just disappointed in Cassian at this point? Is this just the author trying to build up tension for the next book? Did I miss something?

My honest to god favourite thing about SJMs female protagonists is that none of them can cook for shit,, like that really resonates with me

The sheer emptiness and ache Bryce felt over Danikas death hits home bc it shows how friends can be soulmates too.You don’t have to be lovers to feel so deeply about someone ,their death.And that is beautifully ,painfully depicted in crescent city.And I am thankful for it.
