Cosmetics brand Lush has refused to apologise after it emerged the company gave a £3,000 grant to anti-trans pressure group Woman's Place UK.
I see this getting passed around a lot, and I just want to remind everyone that Lush UK and Lush North America were founded by the same people but currently run under entirely different leadership, methods and ideals. Lush UK actually sued the CEO of Lush NA a few years back, and Lush NA has openly condemned Lush UK’s partnership with a TERF group masquerading as a charity.
Lush NA furloughed all their workers with no notice and no pay due to COVID. Fuck them too
https://www.reddit.com/r/LushCosmetics/comments/fqfbqg/the_tea_on_covid19_north_america/ according to this post senior staff took a 25% pay cut and the CEO funded benefits out of pocket. The post also says that everyone laid off was given an offer to work in the online business for 40 hrs/week, were given 2 weeks pay and a contract guaranteeing employment when in-store sales opened up. Also, the company took significant steps to keep their manufacturing and online sales safe.
The business transferred to 100% online indefinitely in a total of 12 days as the pandemic hit. Also, the post makes it sound like employees were given some warning that HQ was making plans. I don’t think Lush could have afforded to pay their in-store employees to do nothing.
If you know better I’m open to being corrected, but I don’t think Lush NA is the enemy you seem to imply it is.
I can verify the reddit post 100%, retail staff were also given a COVID relief bonus calculated by their income, in addition to the two weeks of pay they received for working from home. Current staff have also received a pay raise for the holidays+ a 300$ bonus to all workers, as well as a promise that before the end of the fiscal year they will re-evaluate base pay. Don’t spread misinformation please, it seems like Lush NA is not only doing the best it can for their company, but also through NON-PROFIT charities.
Shout out to the animes that defy psychics to prevent upskirts. I respect and see you Inuyasha, Bleach, Promised Neverland and any others. Add any others that do this. No hate for animes that don’t.
