Anyone else spend literally all their time developing art skills on a specific genre of creatures so you’re age appropriately good at doing some things, but the creatures you neglected to practice with are still stuck at a 3rd grade level? Yeah I’m so embarrassed of how badly I draw humans and human faces that it’s gotten to the point where I’m hyperfixating on blue diamond because she’s cool and elegant and I’m too embarrassed to try and draw her. I’m being so genuinely serious I feel shame because I don’t feel my art is good enough for my age when it comes to people

Does it get better? Is there a way I can just.. get better?

I want to make Gem OCs because it’s fun, just like making WoF OCs, but I genuinely can’t wrap my head around how a human body structure looks, I don’t know to what range a person’s limbs can bend. With dragons, I can curl the tail, or bend the wings upward in flight, but how do human arms rotate?!? How do they work??

I know the answer is practice, but how can you get over feeling crappy about learning and stretching? Is it painful at first because it’s a new muscle that’s never been worked before?

This is the only reason I’m targeting people who have non-human OCs in art fight, btw. I genuinely don’t want to make someone feel bad because they got bad art of their human character, and then feel worse because the non-human characters I draw look better. I don’t want to disappoint someone because I didn’t want to draw people as a kid.
