The father stopped the vehicle and raised his arms to show he was unarmed

ONE OF THE ARRESTED OFFICERS WAS ACTIVELY STALKING THE FATHER’S FIANCE

They are trying to claim self defense AND claim they didn’t know there was a child in the truck

They fired “no less than 18 rounds” into the truck

The father was hit but still alive. The boy ended up being shot in the head multiple times.

There is bodycam footage of the incident and every official/lawyer that has seen and spoken on it has called it horrific.

50% of all police violence victims are autistic or mentally ill. If an autistic person starts screaming or can’t look a cop in the eyes, they use that as an excuse to shoot. I hope Black Lives Matter starts talking about that, too.

Police violence hurts the mentally ill a lot and of course that also means black autistic / mentally ill kids are getting hurt and killed. Ableism is deadly.

So... I just found the cutest thing but theres a bit of backstory so bear with me (tl;dr at the bottom)

I'm openly a part of the LGBT+ community, I'm pan so my personal views on the world have always been around self love and loving people despite the stuff that's only skin deep. I run my household in a way that is highly body-positive and respect is a key aspect in every day life for us. I am with a cis-gendered, straight white man (this does not make me straight I fell in love with him and we're hopefully getting married in two years).

He has a daughter. Shes funny, beautiful, sporty, sassy, and challenges gender roles every day of her life as well as makes little comments that make me laugh and think about the way she is growing up (shes 8).

Her mum is homophobic. She wouldn't allow myself and my fiance to have her stay with us after she found out we were taking her to pride and shes disowned most of her family who are LGBT but most importantly she pushes that negativity onto her daughter.

We started watching she ra together and my SD started making weird comments about how Spinnerella and Netossa were "weird" or how bow is meant to have a mum. So I sat her down and explained that people love who they love and that's ok and that I had a girlfriend before and I loved her, and that's not weird.

Incoming cute... I walked in on her while she watched the last episode. She cried and was "awwww-"ing at Catradora. I soon walked in on her re-watching the episode...

I just went to check on her and shes fast asleep, she has one of those Nintendo 3DS things with the camera...

GUYS, SHE FILMED THE WHOLE OF THE LAST EPISODE ON HER DS SO SHE CAN WATCH IT BEFORE BED EVERY NIGHT.

I just wanted to share how proud I was, not only of her but of the show and how important it is for kids to watch to not only understand sexuality and gender but also enjoy the story naturally....

Its what the Kardashians, Iggy, Justin Bieber, Ariana, and alot of other celebrities do in order to rise in popularity as well as be accepted into the black community.

  Grande’s music is largely influenced by hip-hop and R&B, meaning that in order to build a fanbase, she needs to court listeners (ahem, black folk) with those musical preferences. Grande, who is quick to shut down any perceptions about her ethnicity being anything but Italian. Most people presume Grande is Latinx, not necessarily black, when mistaking her race, but I am here to tell you, most Latinos are part black, sis. 

Thus, for years, Latinx women have been sounding the alarm: Grande is doing brown face. Look at her tan!! Look at how she speaks! Look at her music!

The point is: Most of us don’t get to pick and choose which parts of blackness we get to have — only white folks seem to have that luxury. And we need to give her the SAME ENERGY we give the kardashians.

Why do parents always assume their kid is lazy when they get bad grades? Like maybe help your kids by talking to them, not punishing them. This is how I failed math and didn’t even know I had number dyslexia for years.

When my sister was in high school she struggled a LOT with math. Like I know a lot of people find it really difficult (myself included), but I mean she was really really bad at it. She has always been a very smart, creative and sensitive person, but math made no sense to her, to the point where passing seemed impossible.

I will always remember that twice a week, around the kitchen table, my sister would sit down with my dad for hours, and they would try to work out her math homework. I should mention that my dad is an artist, and art teacher. Truth be told I think he struggled with math just as much if not more then she did. But twice a week you could hear them downstairs, going back and forth, trying to figure it out together. Some nights would be smooth and easy, some nights I could hear them arguing from one floor up about factors or equations, not in anger but in mutual frustration.

I remember the day that she passed. My sister couldn’t wait until my dad’s school day ended, so she called him at work. She gleefully announced to him “I got a D-!”. We could hear him through the phone as he exclaimed “She got a D!” excitedly to his class. Still through the phone we heard his students clapping, laughing and whooping in congratulations. Seldom has a grade in our household been so celebrated.

Just thought a shitty picture like this should be accompanied by a story about a person’s parents who actually gave a shit about helping their kid instead of mocking and punishing them.
