I have been fiddling around with this for way too long now, it's time to just post 🫡 Any type of design-work is not my strongest suit, so it took a lot of time for me to even attempt to do a cover (more than a year, actually - I started on the comic project in February of 2025 and only started this mid-March of this year LOL)

This was entirely enabled by seeing this fantastic cover book by @lonelyreaper who very graciously let me use it as inspiration! I did a few different versions but in the end was so in love with the two shots they chose that I stuck very close to them :) I just think they work so well with the story!

Thought it would be fun to have a cover that was very close to the comic pages in style and colors, with only a little more shading ✨

Okay but the shots they used legit are so good for the fic/comic, and you did it so much justice 😭😭😭That shot of Derek is so good! Because he looks so like... I am trying to think of the right word. Panicked/alarmed isn't right, but it's like, the cusp of it. Concerned maybe? Like he just heard something and is reacting to it (was it Stiles dying? (< lol)

Also I love his beard. Idk why this shot specifically makes me love his beard but something about it in this panel is very -wants to scratch fingers through it- 100/10, very approved.

And the Stiles ;~; Poor bb. I love the shot chosen, and I love how you drew it and made it your own here. The whole room showing (can just barely see the clothes-covered chair XD) and Stiles' pose and expression is so delicious -noms it- I feel like this Stiles is the one from the loop where Derek feels defeated (where they figure out the big plot point). He is like calm Stiles, understands the risks and dangers, feels bad for Derek and everything he's going through because of him. THE TRAUMA!

For context: this came out in 2011 in Australia. Same-sex marriage would not be legalized until December 2017.

It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldn’t be legalized nation-wide until 2015.

It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldn’t hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)

As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. That’s only ~19% of countries.

This is still revolutionary.

There are sounds of cheers and crying and the two people hug each other as they exchange the flags. The man at the doorway then waved kisses to the crowd within the pride parade.

The Tweet says: "NO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HE WAS WAVING THE PORTUGUESE FLAG BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE A PRIDE FLAG AND THEY TRADED FLAGS AND HE'S SO EMOTIONAL TO GET HIS OWN PRIDE FLAG I'M EMOTIONALLY RUINED"

For context, apparently they were worried that maybe he's a nationalist because he was waving the Portuguese flag and some nationalists opposing the pride march were waving that flag. But upon interacting with him, it turns out he didn't have have a pride flag and he wanted to wave *a* flag in support of the pride march. So they had an exchange and now he has his own pride flag 😭🥹.
