Stratt must have spent those 3 hours with a plan already prepared. She likely had one the moment the bomb happened. And even then she knew Grace would not go willingly. When she called grace into that group meeting it was not to *ask* him if he would go, but as a plead that perhaps he would go willingly. She knew there was no choice to be had. Perhaps she thought maybe She and the crew could convince him and she wouldn't have to follow through.

ANYWAY; this is Stratt deciding what to do when she realises Grace will say no to going on the Mary willingly. And her thinking of a way to ensure the mission's safety...

There is a moment; a moment of thanks and silence to the dead crew and to the man that saved the world despite it all and his unlikely friend. A toast to a man who didn't want to go to space and saved earth anyway and then decided to save an alien too.

Now instead of coming home, something unheard of to begin with; he was going to go to an alien planet, where he would likely starve to death. Knowing all of this, the new petrova task force raise their glasses for the heroes of the stars. Whether they lived or not it makes no difference. They all hope he is happy, and warm.
