Great White Sharks can only see up to 50ft ahead of them. Their blind spots are directly in front of the snout, and directly behind the head. They do not have a nictitating membrane to protect their eyes like many other sharks. Instead, they roll the entire eyeball inward, exposing only the white lower portion. This does cause a moment of blindness and gives the shark their famous “white eyed” look when attacking prey.
