But I've seen this idea abused online where people are panhandling for money because they won't get a job to pay their rent (but are somehow able to afford a really nice gaming setup so they can continue streaming).

Yes, I understand that people can fall through the cracks but if you're begging people to pay your $3000 rent every other month, that's a problem. You need to at least file for unemployment or disability. Otherwise, call me skeptical.

Ms Rachel has only popped up on my FYP on TikTok once and it was her doing that weird ‘stare into the camera and baby talk’ thing that she does (which, as I understand, works well for children) but she starts her TikTok about how you (the viewer) are a good person.

I was incredibly creeped out.

It’s one thing if it’s kids show personalities from the past addressing their (now) adult audience. But how long has Ms Rachel been popular? I don’t have kids, so I have no idea. But I imagine kids who grew up with her have to be ten or younger now, right?

Why would I need a YouTuber to assert that I’m a good person? Does her audience require religious salvation or what?

I’m sure other YouTubers & TikTokers have done similar things for engagement, but how sad. Also, how worrying.
