Why is it easier and more comfortable to sit in a position that actively damages my joints than it is to just sit with okay posture. Why does my body crave its own destruction

Lovely to see we have spaces where you can gain access to so much literature!
Don't sleep on @queerliblib the Queer Liberation Library for all your queer Libby needs!
He's prostrating himself before the Eucharist, in case you're wondering. Or possibly planking.

Hi, pope expert here. This isn’t funny — popes only do this when they’re in extreme distress
We're all in extreme distress, he's not special.
kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc
1$ flea market score. Tiny glass 1960s perfume bottles. I love them.
Can you swap their heads ?
omg you can
Their meeting was foretold in the ancient texts
the weird thing about being a leftist is the government calling you a radical extremist and your family believing that youre a radical extremist and the whole times your main political beliefs are shit like "we live in a world where we could very easily end world hunger, homelessness, most disease, poverty, ect. and the people in power are choosing not to, and thats evil and should change" and that bigotry is bad
broke: everyone calls Hawke by surname bc the game can't get people to say your custom name
woke: nobody in Kirkwall knows Hawke's first name

My most socially disabling Too Woke thing is noticing how men won't get the fuck out of your way. Like it doesn't even occur to them that they can move out of your fucking way. I need to start letting them just walk directly into me and pushing their chairs so I can quite literally sit at the table etc. This isn't a metaphor I had that second one happen the other day
I will be at the function where everyone's sitting in a circle and there will be a man sitting directly in front of me for no fucking reason so I'm literally physically kind of pushed off to the side. And I'm expected to not start killing them about it

The US is Running Out of Water (You Can See It on a Map)
from World Maps Online
The guy in that video doesn't mention it but if you do a cursory search you'll quickly find data centres at the heart of the problem. Last year, Palantir started planning the construction of a new "AI" data centre at the Fermi campus outside Amarillo, Texas, an area which sits atop the Ogalla Aquifer.
Fermi execs say local area blessed to have AI capacity coming in
In October, Amarillo Council agreed with Fermi to allow them to use 2.5 million gallons of water per day to cool their data centres.
The Amarillo City Council approved the first reading of a water agreement with Fermi America on Tuesday for a new AI data center coming to C
And it's not just Palantir and Fermi doing this. Last month, Aligned Data Centres announced the construction of a 540MW "AI" data centre campus named Project Caprock in Hale County, Texas.
Aligned Data Centers is constructing a 540MW campus in Texas, focusing on hyperscale AI workloads supported by liquid cooling and power infr
Last year, the state of Texas rapidly expanded data centre construction, and there are now somewhere over 400 data centres in the entire Lone Star State.
A wave of massive data centers is expanding across Texas, prompting warnings from experts who say the new water demands could push the state
And it's not just in Texas that we're seing data centres pop up in the Ogallala area. Recently, Google announced the construction of a massie new data centre in Nebraska, one that will require more power than the entire city of Lincoln.
Documents show the tech giant could build a massive new data center powered by a privately built and owned gas-fueled power plant
There are also currently 18 active data centres across the state of Kansas, mostly around Kansas City, with more planned for the future.
Hundreds of Kansans have gone to public meetings in recent months to express their displeasure about having data centers located near them.
Now, I'm not saying the "AI bubble" is the beginning of the end for the Ogallala water supply, or that it's the start of US water supply problems. But it does seem like that whole drive is poised to accelerate a rapid decline of water supplies in middle America and throughout the USA, to the effect that at the moment it's not unrealistic to suggest that Silicon Valley might literally drain the country dry unless they're stopped.
@alephskoteinos Yeah but like ... think about all the value they will create for shareholders!
