my take on the fem! dazai appearance timeline!
of course mori was an expert at handling dazai and chuuya’s bullshit after he teamed them up together, of course he was an expert at telling them to Knock It The Fuck Off whenever they did shit. before chuuya came along it was the same shit, different subjects. before mori was the boss he was the mafia doctor, and dazai was the weird little freak that constantly followed him around trying to make away with his medicine. of course mori knows how to pull his kids apart. before he became the port mafia boss i would bet real money it was a common occurrence for somebody to go to mori for treatment and they’d have to warily sit on the bed while being examined and side-eye the fuck out of this weird malnourished bandaged kid getting into full on screaming matches with this peppy blonde girl in the back corner. neither of the kids give mori any respect whatsoever and mori is visibly tired of dealing with them. every now and then the bandaged boy will lift a finger and move it towards the girl’s face and without even looking away from his patient mori will snap ‘do NOT.’ and the bandaged boy will slump and whine ‘wasn’t even gonna do it! i wasn’t!’ and nobody knows what the fuck they’re talking about. one time somebody swears they saw the kids actually get into a physical fight except the boy tried to tackle the girl off a table and she disappeared into thin air and the boy just landed on himself and sprained his wrist. they swear mori looked at the boy with the resignation of a man who has seen this happen a thousand times over. nobody believes that this happened and it drives the person insane.
Secret Santa for @cryptid-juzou !! They had maid!Chuuya among the requested prompts and I immediately jumped at that. I really hope you like it! (Some bonuses that didn't make the cut) Thanks to @bungostraydogs-secret-santa for organizing this!

sorry, there weren’t any!
How it actually went
stupids
Suicidal Mafia executive with an uncountable list of crimes and trauma btw
Love him ugh.
The boys
I think Kafka Asagiri is right; if Shōwa-era poet Chūya Nakahara had been allowed to playfully murder the occasional paramilitary, he would have had a healthier relationship with alcohol.
he was plenty playful when he leisurely tore apart the braggart blacksite officer in Meursault while pretending to be a vampire.
even acknowledging that the officer calls himself briareus (after the primordial hundred-handed, fifty-headed storm giant from hesoid's theogeny, whose name is derived from the greek word meaning "stout" or "strong"); considering everything about chuuya's capacity for murder, how little prolonging the encounter served his vampire impersonation, chuuya's priors vis-à-vis storm metaphors, and the comparatively brisker, clean(er) approach he took to dispatch the (albeit epithet-less) officers threatening Fyodor only a few panels later—
— chuuya was probably somewhat playing with his food. like, he was peeling his string cheese, rather than biting it. at the very least he was deriving something like catharsis from splatter painting the wall with the special escort officer's viscera, what with the underground blacksite of it all. but also. i think he was disporting himself for a moment there. whistling while he worked, so to speak.
also, he's pretty carefree and bubbly as an adult too! he didnt outgrow being himself after fifteen, nor did he lose his flair for aesthetics, skylarking, hell-raising, or getting a kick out of kicking ass.
chuuya has fun; i'm not sure of anything that suggests that has or will change.
help I'm back in the soukoku trenches for no apparent reason (university is hell and I need an escape)
anyways I just want to quickly yap about something that randomly came to mind that made my brain go "AKSHSOSHSOSN"
so yk how Chuuya struggles a lot with his own identity due to the lack of confirmation of him really being human?? Well, for someone who claims to deeply hate and want to torture Chuuya so much, Dazai never messes with that one specific insecurity.
I genuinely find that really sickeningly and weirdly sweet. Like, Dazai who struggles with his own sense of self understands in a deep level what it's like to feel out of place, so instead of teasing Chuuya for never finding out if he's really human, Dazai is respectful enough to not make a joke out of it. (Which is insane considering Dazai has made a joke out of lit everything else the latter has done)
No matter if Chuuya tied him upside down on a pole and made him dizzy, if he punched him square in the face or throws rude insults—Dazai never pulls out that one wildcard that he knows would break Chuuya completely.
Yk that scene in the dead apple manga where Dazai says "I'm human too, you know?" and Chuuya like the little fucker he is responds with, "no one would believe that shit." the waaay Dazai could've responded with "well, biologically speaking I am, unlike you" (or a similar yet more intellect dazai-esque response LMFOOOO)
But he didn't say that !! He never pokes that wound !!! And that's so important !! Not only to their dynamic but to Dazai's character as well.
Also !! I mean we know that Dazai always believed Chuuya to be human even if there's no proof, he doesn't need it in order to see Chuuya in a light that he struggles to see his own self in.
And I think Dazai hates Chuuya's internal conflict the same way Chuuya hates to see Dazai's because they both in a way, envy each others humanity lol.
Ugh they should both just kiss and get it over with atp.
please accept my sincerest oopsie daises

Listen to me. I have a plan.
The secret to writing Bungou Stray Dogs characters, is to write every single one of them like they're one mishap away from completely loosing it, regardless of what's happening.
possible reasons as to why dazai wasn’t at the ADA meeting:
he’s still at meursault bc the ADA was too broke to bail him out
he’s getting backshots in chuuya’s office
he was too lazy to go
he escaped meursault and is hiding out in england bc a warrant is out for his arrest. shirase finds him and they lowkey duke it out
the ADA fired him for fraternizing with a mafia executive in prison while an active war was going on
his ponytail... this feels like seeing an ex I'm still madly in love with
