She makes that soft purring noise she'd practiced for a while, it wasn't anything near the real thing but it was pretty convincing. A tool she'd used to help her feel closer and not like an outlier. Like she... didn't belong here. She leans into his hand, though. She always loved when the others were affectionate with her, especially Harlequin and Pierrot. Harlequin was always so gentle with her... she knew why.
She tilts her head, eyes dancing with amusement at his words. Always so quick to praise himself to cover up his own insecurity... she flutters her lashes.
... Of course, silly me. I should give myself a slap on the wrist for worrying for you. ,,
By anyone else, said so deadpan and quiet it would probably be worried that they were serious, but the way Columbina's eyes gave her away, she was giggling in her heart. She wished her emotions weren't so stunted... she hated that she couldn't express properly like the others did. They all had charming smiles, seperate and special. She was just... small. Everything about her was small. Petit and dainty, a "perfect woman" as any... disgusting male would have you believe.
Columbina does however offer the tiniest of smiles at his confusion, something that was beaming happy for her. He was so silly... so, so silly. So silly when he looked confused when she did anything nice for him. She didn't think she'd ever grow tired of it.
... Why wouldn't I? I adore you, isn't that enough to make you nice things? Plus... I was feeling particularly inspired. I wanted to make you something cute, sweet. Just like you. ,,
Columbina tucks her arms behind her back politely, tilting her head. She was quick to praise all of them of course, it was her family, she loved her family. But those comments towards Harlequin and Pierrot in particular held a much different weight to them. There was something different in the lilt of her voice, her candance in which she spoke them. They sounded more airy, more affectionate. As if she thought about it all the time. Truthfully, she did... she had a lot of time to think when she was alone in her tent, at least the others visited her but it was a long night for her.
She'd hear screams of joy and screams of terror, the nightlife of the circus was made to be horrifying after all. But she never did fully understand... just because they are monsters doesn't make them horrifying. No... she could name a few men, human men, that were much more horrifying than her family ever would be.
... I can make you more clothes for him too. Anything you'd like- I'd... also really love if you were with me while I did it. If you aren't too busy... it's been... ,,
Her expression barely changes, but she looks away, coming a bit closer to him. Enough to lean her head into his shoulder.
... Lonely. Terribly lonely. I would ask you all more often but I don't want to take away from work. ,,
It didn't help that her tent was so far away. But it was for safety. Not to have her forgotten about... they would never forget about her whether they tried to or not.
