An in depth breakdown of the suggestrogen saga.
Tw for pedophilia, transphobia, csa discussions.
suggestrogen/isuggestforcefem was a popular tumblr account that recently deactivated after facing major pushback from posts she made regarding pedophilia.
There are now multiple popular blogs claiming this was a harrassment campaing, pedojacketing, stalking, etc. Interestingly enough, the people defending her very rarely show what she actually said. So here i aim to compile everything that happened and provide context. If you have heard that this was rooted in transphobia, i encourage you to read this in its entirety and judge for yourself.
Many people are saying her words were misconstrued. According to these people: what she said was this:
"Pedophiles are not ontologically evil, and there is a difference between pedophilia and child abuse."
If this was all of it, while im sure it would have caused discourse because it is a controversial thing to say, I don't think it would have caused this much pushback. But if you actually read what she said, you'll know this wasn't all that happened and it is leaving out huge amounts of context in an effort to make her look better.
1. Previously problematic behavior.
Before this current debacle, isff had already been called out for displaying transphobia towards trans men. Here are some examples of this sort of behavior.
I don't particularly participate in transandrophobia discourse but I find it incredibly disingenous to pretend trans men dont face specific issues. Are trans women affected by forced birth as a means of detransition? Are they affected by claims of being "broken women who cant think for themselves and are being manipulated"? No! This isn't to say there are no issues with the transmasc community or that trans men never benefit from transmisogyny. But one thing is to say that, and another is to consistently villanize trans men, to treat them like they are just as privileged as cis men and face NO struggles of their own. Like the only struggle that matters is that of white trans women.
This is the first example of isff displaying black and white thinking. There can be no nuance regarding trans men and their role in transmisogyny. It's either "trans men are oppressed by trans women" or "trans men are oppressing trans women." There is no room in her head for a potentially nuanced opinion. We will continue to see this as we go forward with her takes on pedophilia.
2. The pedophilia saga.
A few days ago, ISFF posted this:
These are not her own words, she is posting on behalf of a friend. But she does agree with the points made and defends them:
Many people seem to think what she is saying is perfectly reasonable, and while I think many of them are just blatantly malicious, I also think many are just gullible, so I will attempt to break down all her points in good faith.
1. Pedophilia is attraction not action, therefore, calling pedophiles child abusers is unfair unless they actually have abused anyone: This is the only true thing this whole thing says, and even then, it is very disingenous. If a pedophile has not acted on their urges, then they are by definition, not an abuser. HOWEVER, they are more likely to become an abuser due to the persistent nature of the desires. In the same way a person with homicidal urges is more likely to murder someone with time, a pedophile is also more likely to act on their desires if they don't learn to deal with said urges adequately. So technically true, but leaving out the context that yes, these urges do evolve and then lead to actions, to me reads as manipulative. A pedophile is not going to be harmless if they don't do the work to manage their disorder. It's active work, which is why promoting this passive view on pedophilia is extremely dangerous, because it makes people think their urges will be fine on their own instead of actively working on them.
2. Pedophilia is similar to having a noncon kink. If having a noncon kink is okay and not going to lead to rape, then how is pedophilia any different?: False equivalency, kinks and pedophilia are different psychological experiences. Dark kinks are usually not literal. Very often it is the brain creating subconscious symbolism in the realm of fantasy that doesn't reflect their views on reality. So a person with a noncon kink is different than someone with rape urges, which is what a pedophile is.
3. If people who experience attraction to adults are not going to force that attraction on every person they're attracted to, why do we expect the same for pedophiles?: Second false equivalency, ordinary sexual attraction is also a different psychological experience to pedophilia. A gay person is not going to rape every men he meets, but they will still act out their desires in consensual spaces. Plus, unless the person has an unhealthy view on sex, the idea of rape would be distressing enough that it would discourage the person from forcing their attraction. At their core, these desires are rooted in the attraction towards consensual activities, so even in a situation where you find yourself attracted to someone who may not reciprocate, because rape is not in line with your desires, the attraction won't lead to abuse easily (unless as stated, the person does have unhealthy views on sex).
But pedophiles inherently have a disordered view on sex. It is a disorder where you are consistently attracted to people who cannot consent to you, so there isn't this disconnect between their desires and the act of rape. The desire is rape. Additionally, while a gay person can eventually find a consensual partner, pedophiles can't! No, i don't expect gay men to force themselves on every men they meet, but I do realize they'll be inclined to explore their sexuality consensually. A pedophile will probably also feel inclined to explore their sexuality, but there is no consensual alternative.
4. Pedophiles are a marginalized group comparable to queer people: Are they? The people who benefit from the social structures that promote CSA because it aligns with their wants are marginalized? Sure, the topic of pedophilia is taboo, but it is also structurally reinforced, so it evidently isn't the same thing. Now, some people will argue that it is child abusers who benefit, not pedophiles. But a pedophile is just one kind of person who wishes to abuse children. Sure, they aren't the only ones. But they are a demographich that benefits because their desires align with the structures in place. Wanting to rape children for power vs wanting to rape children for sexual attraction isn't that different, both are desires that if acted on cause harm, and the healthy thing to do is to encourage these people to seek help and coping mechanisms instead of telling them "well, it's just like being gay!"
3. Consequences vs call out culture.
Before anyone says this is harrassment. If a popular blog came out defending nazism or terf ideology, wouldn't you all be outraged? You would! And you would understand the push back as not harrassment, but retaliation. So why is it that when it comes to pedophilia you all suddenly turn a blind eye? Suddenly we should just block and move on. Why is this the one topic you want people to stay quiet about?
People say it's because she's trans and... really? The point of trans feminism is to treat trans women as human beings, and I don't think infantilizing trans women as people who do no wrong ever is treating them like humans. Some trans women are bad people, not because of their gender, but because human beings are capable of harm.
It is important however to not pretend this is representative of transfeminism. Terfs will take advantage of this and push the narrative this is an example of trans women being predatory. It is an exaple of a trans woman being predatory. A niche tumblr blog is not representative of an incredibly diverse demographic.
The people accusing those criticizing her of transphobia are ironically pushing this rethoric. By saying criticizing one trans woman is somehow criticizingball trans women, you portray trans women as some kind of monolith. Even though suggestrogen's beliefs are not at all accepted by the trans community at large (and no, your terminally online tumblr mutuals arent the representatives of what most trans women think).
4. What this says about site wide culture:
This really has shown some of the major pitfalls of tumblr culture. Many people will fall for bigoted ideals if presented to them under supposedly progressive language. Many people here treat trans womanhood as a sort of sainthood status where trans women are no longer people, but entities incapable of harm. Many people are attempting to normalize predatory behavior under the guise of kink. Many blogs have been pushing for this for a long time now, and this is just the first person who finally came out and said it without filters. This was the result of a myriad of bad ideologies the site has been fostering finally coming together all at once.
suggestrogen was not harrassed, she was rightfully pushed back against for promoting an ideology that endangers others.
Thank you for probably saving me from an echo chamber! Im gonna hope this post does as well as the others but I made points about thought crimes relating to 1984 and was trying to be careful due to the nature of this discourse, so I won't be taking them down. I ALSO won't be promoting or supporting suggestrogen or isff anymore given it seems she actually could be a pedo based on this evidence.
I was unlucky enough to join tumblr recently and not see the original posts, but instead of people talking about her and promoting her.
I stand by my previous points where we should talk about things or history will repeat itself.
I stand by my points where transphobes use one off situations like this to push trans women off of platforms.
I stand by my point that NOBODY should be told to kill themself
I stand by my points where if potentially dangerous kinks are done in safe, consensual settings with adults then they're safe.
I stand by *most* of what I've said, except for things defending suggestrogen and i suggest forcefemme now
I do however, think people with desires to go for children or rape people should go to therapy, or at least reflect on themselves and try to see why they have these desires to make sure they dont become pedophiles or rapists.
I'm adding a point that yes, trans women should be treated equally and that INCLUDES criticism. Without being criticised I would've been stuck in an echo chamber.
An anon told me to delete my account. I won't. Another couple of anons told me to kms, I ignored them thinking it was transphobes and this (alongside the posts claiming so and posts replying to similar anons) made me believe suggestrogen was also harassed (which could've been true but I don't know so I won't say it is). Instead, I'll keep a link to this specific post in case this comes up in the future because things shouldn't be censored or history might repeat itself.
I also think people should talk more about her previous transphobia against trans men, and I encourage everyone who sees this and bothers to read this far to research that, because I had no idea about it, which also reflects how little people talk about those issues. C'mon guys
This is the kind of post I was looking for but was being pushed away from me by the algorithm, and luckily I was led to it with a direct link by a string of reblogs and comments trying to give me context. So again, THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME FROM AN ECHO CHAMBER!
People need to be open to criticism and careful who they trust and clearly I was not careful enough.
This will be my last post on the topic of suggestrogen and the last time I interact with siggestrogen, as I dont want my new and first tumblr blog to accidentally promote such horrible things, I implore anyone who reads it to reblog and interact as much as they can with EVERY post they FULLY believe they can trust in order to help visibility of whats true or not.
the way people used to use tone tags in 2020 makes me laugh in retrospect because in what world would you need to tag “good morning” as nonsexual. hi friend! /gen /pos /srs /nsx /hello /smiling /happy
something sinister is going down in the nearest beautiful mountain stream
not to be That Person but male-bodied people experience morning wood on the regular so why would this be surprising.
Saying ‘good morning’ to a person is already a bit in the queerplatonic zone (if you said ‘good morning’ to every single person you were ‘merely friends’ with, you’d have like a dozen different threads going on- it denotes a special place in your sphere) and since a lot of people conflate emotional closeness with romance and ergo sex, this makes perfect sense as a clarification
esp if the two people in question were queer, esp bi or pan
we were talking about like DMing people ‘good morning’, right? Or were people saying ‘non sexual’ on like a public social media post directed outwards to everyone?
“there are cishet people more normal than this” > somebody doesn’t have very much experience with amatonormativity seems like. Yeah not EVERY SINGLE PERSON is like this, nobody said that.
Media literacy is dead yada yada
@heres-someart @justanotherrandommoth
and @felix-the-pup2 acting like they definitely know what goes on in the minds thar OP is actively puzzling over. Like you have no more concrete idea than they do, lol. Unless you’d like to offer a speculation? (that to remind again, you may or may not be right about? Everybody reacting to my post is just a reaction, or is not a true diviner.)
TBH extremely neurotypical behavior “if everyone believes a thing, or views a thing a certain way, it must be true”
classic Appeal to Majority fallacy …
i like to play games and toys does any one else like to do that
*reads tags
“shuddering” is a diviner of truth, now. lmfao
Nobody knows how to analyze or use their words anymore, apparently.
Feelings are truth now, guys! Anytime a homophobe feels uncomfortable, that is a truth. This is the endpoint of being reluctant to examine preconceived notions or ‘vibes.’ Just because you have a reaction to something does not mean it’s not accurate.
NTs, man, I swear.
Srsly tho how old are some of you.
“medically concerning” in the tags. Ya that’s def one ppl have leveled at me a lot, as an ND person. You wanna elaborate on your ableism, or?
It’s actually rather fascinating, the particular weaknesses in Tumblr culture’s acceptance of truly ND forms of communication and viewing things.
Another yahoo unable to engage.
oh look another person unable to engage on ableism.

(This is not a gotcha I am genuinely asking if I’m missing context) Is there a specific issue with discussing transandrophobia in general or is it more about talking over trans women in discussions about transmisogyny? I figured it was just a term that created a space to talk about issues that specifically affect transmascs, and I can see how derailing posts by/about trans women to do that is harmful, but is there a larger issue with the topic itself? I’m sure you’ve been getting this a lot lately so I want to thank you for your help should you choose to answer this
that is a misunderstanding of the term "transandrophobia," and of the term it was coined in direct response to, transmisogyny.
there are power structures in our society which oppress certain people, to the benefit of others. to give two examples in broad terms, transphobia affects trans people, to the benefit of cissexual people, and misogyny affects women, to the benefit of men. in a trans woman's experience, transphobia and misogyny mingle and combine into a unique form of oppression that is greater than the sum of its parts.
the attempt to account for and acknowledge the way that forms of oppression can combine and interact is called "intersectionality" and was originally developed by black woman activists to describe the intersection of misogyny and racism. the term they invented for the combined oppression that arises in the experience of black women is "misogynoir." trans woman activists have coined the term "transmisogyny" to describe the intersection and combination of transphobia and misogyny.
the thing is, society worldwide is patriarchal, and there is no power structure anywhere in the world that oppresses men for being men to the benefit of some other kind of person. so although some people may just be looking for a term to describe aspects of transphobia that are specific to transmasc people (i've seen the term "transemasculation" floated)*, and others may be operating from a misguided but well-meaning sense that if there's a girl version there must be a boy version, the problem with "transandrophobia" and the reason we criticize the term so avidly is that it contains the idea that there is an intersection between transphobia and, i guess, androphobia or misandry or whatever you want to call the supposed systematic oppression of men for being men, which does not exist. this idea is, in fact, the revival of an old men's rights (i.e. antifeminist) talking point. and you can tell, because the people using and popularizing and defending the term are overwhelmingly neo-men's-rights dudes who mostly use this conversation as a way to complain about and demonize the women around them.
so, yes, it is obviously completely ok to discuss the things trans men and transmasculine people go through that other people don't really experience, but you have to do that without implying, with your terminology and the way you position the discussion, that men are oppressed for being men as opposed to just that, like, all trans people suffer under transphobia and trans men / transmascs have their own experience with that. there's no second form of oppression to combine it with. do you understand?
*note - "transemasculation" passes the sniff test for me because it's not implying a second form of oppression but it gets at the idea that there are specifically transphobic avenues by which to attack the masculinity and manhood of transmasc people. but it's not my phenomenon to describe, so me preferring this term probably doesn't hold a lot of weight
SUMMARY: Evans' life has stood still since his brother Victor disappeared on a camping trip. When Victor suddenly returns and asks his brother to pack the car, Evan asks no questions. The trip goes to Town Creek and involves bloody revenge.
Have you seen Blood Creek (2009)?
Yes
No
I haven't even heard of this movie
so where the hell did you get the summary for this? because searching the title gets very explicit mentioned of nazism, even if the movie poster with swastika does not appear. feel kinda disingenious to not. you know. mention the nazis. It's weird.
"A man and his brother on a mission of revenge become trapped in a harrowing occult experiment dating back to the Third Reich."
even the wikipedia article mentiones the nazis. why hide that?
i don't think a lot of people know this, but @/shrimpsisbugs is a zionist, please stop putting them on peoples' dashes. as with all zionists, block, do not engage.

TRIGGER WARNING FOR INCEST
on august 26th, 2020, @minerals (who is @aridante) was called out for supporting incest, which they subsequently defended.
there used to be a link on @minerals that said their main blog was @aridante, though i cannot find the link on their blog anymore.
For the record, some examples in case they blank their incest blog like a coward. Please feel free to copy this into other reblogs for the sake of maintaining a record. I say this because the callout for turing-tested, an actual pedophile who harmed a minor and is/was grooming another child, has greatly depreciated in proof. To maintain an active record is important to safeguarding online and offline communities.
There’s countless other examples than the ones in this post, but I’m not copy pasting everything. These examples linked below are from recent to 1-2 years ago.

This person also used 'say her name' in referenced to a white person, doubled down on continuing to use the phrase when Black people pointed out the antiblackness of that, and then gave a half hearted non apology when a nonblack person repeated the same things Black people said. I'd like to point out that many Native Americans consider 'souix' a racial slur, or in the least, derogatory and not a name they want to be called. Of course this varies from person and community. You should always check with the person or community on what they call themselves before assuming.
Note. I'm not indigenous or native american, but asian american. I say this because we're discussing racism and our respective race/ethnicity impacts our view of the world and each other, and because I don't want people to think I'm speaking from an indigenous perspective.
Edit here's a decent source on this that's fairly succinct, and I'm sure there are many others. I apologize for not including additional citations.
"The word “Sioux” is a exonym. That means someone else’s name for them. It is from French, from Nadouessioux, from Ojibwa nātowēssiwak. It means little rattlesnake or something like that. Or it could mean "speaks a foreign language". In any case, it is not their own word for themselves. It is from a nearby enemy people. Thus some don’t like it.

i think some of you need to sit down and realize that you're not an activist if all you do is reblog posts about various issues. that doesn't make you an activist. it doesn't even make you a good person, just a more knowledgeable one if you even bothered reading the post in full
ok. you shared a post about how x thing affects y population. cool. would you give up your seat on the bus for someone who needed it more. do you volunteer. do you just treat people kindly. like no one cares if you know about this law or that atrocity, what matters is what you actually do in your community and life to make the world better and scrolling through tumblr doesn't do that one bit
