what if you were GAY and your girlfriend was the personification of DEATH and then your SON died and she had to reap his SOUL or whatever because it was her JOB and then you never forgave her but she still LOVED you and then you projected your GRIEF onto a random teenager while battling through DEATH trials with PATTI LUPONE
is ‘doctor who’ an emotion because i’m feeling it all the time
What a cruel thing to do. I’m in, investing as well, at 12 notes

Very Silly Concept: a show called "Accessibility Nightmares" but it's structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that's the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.
A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don't allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like
And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like
The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says "Well I mean, it's makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?" The specialist just
The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don't know.
#this post has 10k notes to me
When you left this tag three days ago, I thought "that's so sweet, but no. No way this concept is even close to that popular."

This is it. This is my job. This is what I do for a living. I make those faces and then I tell my uncaring monitor exactly what is wrong with this website and what the site owner needs to do to fix it with all the fucks I can’t put in official work documents sprinkled liberally throughout.
And now I will be picturing Gordon Ramsey when I do it.

Kan du höra skillnad på olika utryckningsfordon? (Polis, ambulans, brandbil m.fl)
Ja, det är ju jättetydligt
Ibland?
Kanske, har aldrig tänkt på det…
Nej, de låter exakt likadant
being chronically ill is so fun bc u get one diagnosis and then u get like 7 other issues for free
”Good news! Everything looks fine.”
Those words hit me so hard today.
I’m not fine. I feel fucking awful. Something is wrong and that is not fine. I have no answers and that is not fine. I don’t know my prognosis and that is not fine.
Honestly, that's part of the reason why functioning labels suck
rip to you guys but i love assembling ikea furniture its so fun its like legos
people complain about how confusing assembling ikea furniture is and meanwhile i rise above their understanding and exist beyond their pitiful mortal comprehension as i spend a wonderful day assembling two twin beds with nothing but two hex keys, hope, and a whole lot of screws. 10/10 experience would do again
Dealing with healing from surgery, finding the right dose of a medication, worsened chronic pain with no real management (‘cause doctors don’t want to give me anything stronger than paracetamol), heart rate’s acting weird, autumn/winter depression, I can’t sleep. I don’t have energy for anything and when I try to push my limit I will suffer the consequences. Fun life…
It has just now occurred to me that what’s “visibly on the spectrum” is wildly different for autistic and allistic people. Most allistics don’t recognize autistic behavior (at all or anything more that weird/quirky) unless it impacts their ability to interface with an autistic person. That’s when allistics see someone as visibly on the spectrum. Other autistics can spot each other from a mile a way though over minor stuff.
For example every allistic I’ve ever worked with has told me “oh but you’re sooo good at socializing with people?!? I could neverrrr tell?!?!” If they learned I’m autistic.
However other autistic people meet me and are like: YOU. AUTISM.
Follow up
The concept of being able to "pass" as neurotypical is weird for me because as I was growing up, other kids seemed to be able to detect that there was something Wrong with me but I'm sure literally none of them would have been capable of going "oh, she's autistic"
airline customer service: hello this is SAS how can i help me: ok so i booked a flight with you just now and i’d like to reserve a space for my pet in the cargo hold, i’m bringing a cockatiel SAS: (audibly worried) uh… uhm… i’m not sure we can… transport that kind of um… pet? me: oh, huh? i did ring to check before i booked and the guy on the phone said it’d be fine? SAS: (”dealing with unhinged customers” voice) uh. ok. well, i guess i can try to check… just give me some cage dimensions. how big is its cage me: well i got him a teeny tiny travel cage, so… 50x30x30, at most SAS: centimeters?? me: yeah? is there a problem?
