thinking about Francesca being uncertain of a lot of things but always having been certain of what she wants. Thinking about Francesca being detached and practical in her search for a husband, just as she’s been detached and practical about almost everything in her life up until now, except for her music, which she knows what is. Which never changes. Which is predictable and safe and doesn’t challenge anything about who she is and where it’s going. Thinking about her marrying John because he was quiet and gave her space and didn’t try to get in her way or need anything emotionally from her that she wasn’t quite sure she was even able to give. Thinking about Francesca being so certain that that’s what she wants, that that’s what love feels like!! How could it be anything else, when shes never once looked at a man and felt anything but polite indifference and vague annoyance at his advances.
