No but for real the way the two actresses are absolutely drawn to each other in interviews speaks VOLUMES about how well they’ll play real desire on screen and honestly I don’t think they could do a sapphic storyline without exactly that kind of chemistry. And that’s on a queer woman as showrunner. And a competent intimacy coordinator.

Like, do they have to touch each other constantly? No. Are they going to? Yes, absolutely. Every single chance they can get.

They're onscreen ship Brittana was born from their background scenes. Because the writers didn't care about their characters in beginning, they were given no instructions so they just did what they wanted. The contrast in episode 6 between the flashback events and the current events, especially in the lighting and acting, especially when it cuts between Hulda’s administration and the nighttime stadium scene is so Jarring. I was scared that they would sanitise gilead because of this trend in the last couple years of shows being scared of presenting dark subjects seriously/realistically. But they’ve used the contrast between the sheltering of these girls and the violence enacted on the generation before them and everyone outside of their bubble to show the many different ways that gilead exerts controls over people.
