it's so weird that female characters of color in this fandom are not allowed to be complex. they have to be smoothed over and perfected and made into characters with no flaws or complexities to be acceptable to their supposed "biggest fans." baran considers putting people's lives in danger because she cannot accept that her chronic illness is ruining her life. garcia is a person who has been repeatedly characterized as mean, unflinchingly. samira has real difficulties acclimating to the pace of the ed, to the degree that she has endangered patients.

every character on the show, INCLUDING the very many beautifully complex woc, have flaws and have faults and have made mistakes. but somehow, i repeatedly see people who are supposedly fans of these female characters of color refusing to admit that they are imperfect!! do you not realize that this upholds very dangerous stereotypes and the incredibly detrimental "model minority" myth that has actual negative impacts on woc in the real world??? woc should get to be just as complex and uncomfortable and mean and flawed as every other person and being incapable of liking them unless they have been so thoroughly sanitized that they have lost everything that makes them compelling and unique is NOT actually being a fan of them !!!
