Went looking for you after your video because your art looked pretty! And youre into hermitcraft too? Instant follow
I love Minecraft and I love magical girls, what can I say?
Still thinking about this
WoaH uh oh! Another super fast resign of the reboot but bloom this time!!! I feel like they were trying to make her feel a little classic super-hero ish with the high boots, armor like shoulder piece and the high pony tail - but it comes off as more cheerleader to me
But again - I hate how much pink they bring into the designs (yellow was such a good accent color)!!! I actually didn't mind the purples since it does feel like a flame. I wanted her to feel more tomboyish, again while still trying to keep to the style of the new show..... But I hate her ponytail look, I miss her crown, her free flowing fire-y hair, and I wanted to add a creative flair to suit her personality, so I added purple hot rod flames?? Lol - also the designs need to be simplified!!!!
I'm not sure about her having beads, but I think it would be funny if she used those old hair stampers everyone had in the 2000s
Enjoy another terrible edit!!
I did a quick little drawing and made a video on why I made certain aspects of this design!!
It's my first time recording my voice and editing a video and BOY that was an experience
If anyone is interested 🥺👉👈 or whatever
Op! Was your firefighter pearl art inspired by the way Alphonse Mucha's framed his subjects? (The frame with the filigree and nature details in it, and pearl outlined in thick lines with thinner detail lines)
It looks really cool!
YEssss I love Alphonse Mucha!!!! he is one of my favorite artists!!
Pearl art now hehe!!!
Not quite as finished as the gem one unfortunately , but I was getting a little art-blocked trying to finish this - hope you enjoy a buff firefighter pearl
I'll probably finish this at a way later date hehe, I still need to fix the boot colors...
Your caaaat omg your cat!!!! It looks like my cat!! What’s your cats name? Gender? Age? I want to know eveeerything!!!!
Also here’s my cat:
Name: Pepper
Gender: Female
Age: Almost 1 year old
What a cutie!!!! @kitkat-official
You'll never guess, but my cats name is ... Pepper!
She's about 10-11 ( we've had her for about 6 years, and we adopted her from someone who had her for about 4-5 years )
She's a little diva who won't eat her kibble without topping, but also she's polite enough to wait until you are fully awake in the mornings before she begs for breakfast.
Serial keyboard stomper, loves getting her hair brushed with me in the mornings, she's my little buddy - I can't do anything alone with out her "helping" (reading, playing games, drawing, crafts, all result with her sitting on everything)
ScarWorlds: The Movie!
The protagonist: Scar, the villain: Scar, the damsel: Scar, the sage: Scar.

SO after watching what I could from the reboot I have so many thoughts. It's important to note that when I was watching this I was trying to NOT compare it to the original series, just trying to watch it as its own thing, a new show. (character designs in general are a whole other essay, so minimal talk about that here) HOWEVER, it seems this show really uses your previous knowledge of early seasons - knowing what certain places are, knowing what certain items are, just understanding what exactly the dragon flame is without any real explanations. If I was a new fan with no pervious knowledge I would be SO LOST. (ex: why is the ring of solaria so important?? WHY IS THE DRAGON FLAME SO POWERFUL???)
Characters have no layers, tension exists between relationships without any real reason, love exists too without any real time for relationships to develop. There are no conflicts, turning the team (mostly bloom) into these perfect cinnamon roll type characters without any real motivations to be friends. In the old show, conflicts are what deepened the relationships of the girls - one of my favorites from season 2 is when Aisha/Layla and Stella are having a lot of tension when they go on that vacation, but their assumptions of each other are broken once they actually talk and get to know one another. (ex: Reboot riven has been nothing but a sweetie, and Musa just kind of judges him constantly for no reason, Darcy also calls him a bad boy, but he has yet .. to be a bad boy...)
Also another funny thing about the reboot, is just when they want to make a scene feel full, how they kinda just make other characters stand like a npc waiting for a interaction to happen My personal favorite is when dark bloom just is breathing angrily in the room while everyone is talking about her. Like some kinda toddler-zombie, no restraints, no mental struggle, just huffing and puffing walking around a little kid for like 2 whole minutes. ( the fact that they don't even talk to bloom while she's in this state just kinda makes me think...)
The music hasn't been terrible, though there are a FEW songs that REALLY feel like they have their hands dipped in AI. It feels a little reminiscent of old winx but it a way that suits the modern style of the show, but it just lacks an emotional connection. Techna has been the saving grace of the show for me so far, she has been the only one I actively giggled at or felt a emotional connection to. Damiens story is feeling like it's going to be more important than the Winx/Bloom. Most of the characters have one personality trait to them. It lacks a lot of depth, It assumes the kids watching are dumb, and I think that's what bothers me. The story tries to push for extreme emotions when we haven't even had a chance to even know anyone yet. There are HINTS of a good story line, but over all, it continues to fall flat in animation, characters designs, plot points, and messages. Granted, compared to modern cartoons for kids, I can see where it stands its ground. Its seems colorful and fun, and full of magical stuff we don't understand yet - you do want to explore the story, world and characters little more, but - it just has nothing to it. Overall.... It's okay. Good? No. It has potential, but it seems like they are too scared to make any real messages for the show. Going into it with a fresh mind is the best way to "enjoy" it, but unless you have already watched everything before you will be confused. Reusing pre-established characters that already have their backstories is just asking for constant comparisons (ex. Aisha going from a tom-boy princess who is scared of the dark, who cries when she feels alone, who loves her parents but stands her ground, who is determined and proud - gets turned into a overly positive, diet and fitness are my only traits, "my parents NEVER hug me" girl.) It wants it watchers to know everything, while also assuming you are a kid can't understand complex relationships and multi-layered personality traits. It has a smidge of potential, 3/10 ( minus -100000 for clearly a lot of AI designs and writing ) (kids (the major audience?) are SO SMART, way smarter than what modern directors/studios/producers think, and that's what kills so many kids shows and it makes me MAD)
ALSO WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT why SKY is wearing: not one, not two, but THREE pieces of metallic/shiny clothing??
His shirt? a gold sweater for some reason, his coat, a pearlescent white coat. Jeans? shiny too for absolutely no reason, is this their idea of what a down to earth rich kid looks like???
His outfit hurts me, his true fighting advantage as a specialist is blinding his enemies with his outfit reflecting the sun into their eyes.
Daphne NOOOOOOooo
For an older-sister character type, this design haunted me. When she turned around I just felt terror. I know it's a reboot and all, but this is not a design that translates to 3d very well AT ALLl!! And the side pig tails??? WHY
I get they wanted to make new character designs, but this one does not work well at all - I made the WORLD'S fastest edit (6 minutes btw) of what her pigtails would have looked like on the BACK of her head, NOT THE FRONT OF HER HEAD, also also warmed up the colors a little. Don't get me wrong, this is not the design I would have settled on, but I feel like the show is so scared of using warm yellows and greens. The design would have just felt less scary if she didn't feel like a walking Barbie doll.
I finally gave the new winx club a shot, and I lost it looking at what they did to Diaspro - her character feels like a joke compared to who she used to be
She went from a girl who looked noble with a hint of a knightly (like 3 musketeers) design to just a basic rich girl! It just feels like they lost the love of designing characters. Diaspro was someone who was noble, proud, and raised to be knowledgeable about etiquette and military strategy! Someone who was really raised to run a kingdom! Her corset and open skirt used to give her a hint of femininity while keeping the thought that she could be in a fight when needed! I miss what her character could have been in the original seasons and I feel like all the thought and love is gone in the later seasons and the reboot, even if she is a minor antagonist. Anyways... More thoughts later.....
Whooohoo I cleaned it up, however I added a terrible sketch of a title logo and name. It's obviously not my actual name but I wanted something to imagine there
Always open to suggestions :)) as you can see I threw in basic shapes and colors for text
I also brightened it a ton!!! I only realized how dark it looked after I took it off my tablet, so I tried my best to color match it
A wip of a book cover, I might actually try writing a story to go with my fairies :) I got a detailed outline done, it's just a matter of actually writing lol. This is very messy right now but I'm really liking the framing of it. It would obviously be very inspired by winx, but I have no clue what to even add for a title!
I will hopefully clean this up soon
Story would follow a fairy who recently lost her wings and her new friends. While learning how to fight again without flying, handling school, and going on adventures with her roommates, they begin to notice the disappearances of magical creatures at increasingly fast rates. Confused why someone would be wanting with all these creatures and not getting many answers from their professors, they end up a little too deep into trouble forcing them to fight for much more than they realize.
