can i be a honest but true hater for a second. when people try to ignore all the ways in which oliver queen kind of sucks as a person, all those ways in which hes kind of a hypocritical asshole in order to make him into a perfect leftist hero figure hes just sort of not that interesting anymore. if i wanted to read leftist theory id read theory. but i want to read comics and that includes reading about characters who are human and fuck up and kind of suck sometimes. and thats okay! he can be a bit of a deadbeat and the literal embodyment of leftist man who doesnt do his dishes. its entertainment! and it doesnt mean i dislike oliver queen, in fact it makes me kind of like him more if im being honest

As far as being a progressive superhero is concerned, Steve Rogers outclasses Oliver Queen.

Steve is a man of action, while Ollie is a man of loud yelling.

Ollie befriends the guys from fascist bird world, but Steve’d be all “those wings are fake so it’s clippin’ time.”

Steve’s childhood bestie is gay, his best friend is Black, he put two minorities on the Avengers as soon as he was in charge… meanwhile one of Ollie’s most consistent character traits has been being a misogynist.
