Was thinking who I can pair Gu Seulbi with as from recent chapters it doesn't seem like I can go with putting her together with Maeng Hyodon and Jin Jeongmuk. The obvious choice would be Luis, but I'll die before I choose an easy option, so I have to think. The second who comes to mind is Song Daeseok. Author-nim already agrees with me here and gives me material to work with, but what is the comparison here? Badly socially adjusted teenagers? That's a bit weak premise and doesn't fit very well with the essay thesis. There is a good point of comparison how both of them need some kind people around to enter back into the society and be a conducive member of it... But it doesn't seem to quite dig into the cores of their characters and needs...

Perhaps I need to wait for the end of this Replay to see how it changed Gu Seulbi.

I find it incredible how saying it's the God of Death's fault is always a valid solution to fill a plot hole in a TCF/LCF fanfic.

That's the joy of TCF. Even canonically, most of the time it goes like this:

Step 1: It is White Star's fault. He did some insane, fcked up shit again.

If he didn't then,

Step 2: It is God of Death's fault, because he either allowed something insane or did something that Cale and Co has to clean up now.

And if somehow he is innocent too,

Step 3: It is the Hunters' fault, causing interdimensional nonsense again.

Beyond that, it's just Cale being an unlucky bastard. Since apparently he is viewed as cosmically unemployed in the eyes of fate, and therefore suffers.

The God of Death as the meddling and inconvenient aunt is perfect. He really exudes that aura. I truly find it amazing how he has this strange ability to be both the most helpful and the most useless God of all, because he's always trying to help Cale solve the problems he himself caused.

And those four you listed are definitely the biggest culprits behind all the problems in TCF. And it's always possible to add another problem to their list.

If, as Helrem revealed in chapter 1424 of Turning, the fire that struck the village in the Airik mountains and killed the monsters contained traces consistent with the magic used by great mages, this means that, in addition to Melach not even managing to escape the village before dying, Luma, potentially still disoriented and in pain due to the soul transfer process that somehow went wrong, was still able to cast a fire spell strong enough to kill all the monsters surrounding him while maintaining control over his magic to the point of not causing any additional damage to the surroundings of the village with his flames before fleeing with baby Yuder? I think he truly deserves the title of greatest Archmage, because accomplishing such a feat is not simple or easy. Wow, how I really want Luma to be out there, because I really want to see him in action.
