things i learned today:

solas could've avoided this whole mess and probably had enough free time to take lavellan on a nice little date if he just took up archdemon hunting instead of all the rituals and the other dastardly deeds

lucanis won't romance rook if they go to minrathous but will romance neve because despite saying he's cool, he's not cool

everyone's nice and no one has slaves or anything because *checks forearm* the blight

all your companions get along with you and each other because also the blight

even though he's like, really manipulative and uses people all the time, solas accumulated but then gave up an entire army's worth of spies and agents because he decided he wasn't ready for a management position

red lyrium isn't really around because—and you are not gonna believe this—the blight

solas just lies. all the time, outright, to everyone. so I guess he was actually only super careful to not ever actively lie in Inquisition as like a fun little challenge to himself

tying the veil to his life force (you know, the guy who couldn't even take down an archdemon on his own and actually just got his ass beat so is not in great shape in the best ending) fully repaired the veil! \o/ don't ask how you wouldn't understand it it's not a big—

everyone near minrathous is cured of the blight! but @ everyone else you may be entitled to compensation 🥀

the only ritual solas has ever gotten or will ever get right is cleansing the idol into the ritual dagger. good thing too bc it was way more dangerous than this one. other than that, wrong about everything ever

So hi everyone, it's been a while since I wrote something here.

Well thanks to the stress, the sleep's apprehension and my stupid mind, here's another one !

Careful this text mentions suidical thoughts.

PS : I'm so tired I edited my text with the french page setting. I'm a lost cause.

On nights like these, Jason feels as miserable as a lost cause.

Awake despite everything he tries, and God know how much does, he just sit there in the dark ; anable to find the rest he desesperatly needs.

It's been weeks since he tasted a peaceful sleep. Truth be told, his mind cannot remember the last time he experimented this simple but out of touch joy. This pleasure of seeing nothing, feeling nothing, being nothing except a body, still and asleep.

Right now he would give anything and trade anything to grasp this once more. However no God bothers to grant his wish. His body and mind left with the awful sensation of exhaustion and the conviction that they'll never find rest again.

A pathetic and discrete cry escapes his lips as he punches his head, tired. Sleep. Just sleep. All his muscles are heavy, too heavy for him to support them anymore. Sleep. Fucking sleep.

He tried relaxation, music, reading, walking, all he could do but none of it worked. 

As he painfully lift his head to watch the night outside, stars and moon laughing at his failed attempts, he wonders if dying wouldn't be his only way out. Someone like him can't take this hell, not after all the pain, the horrors and the guilt he went through. 

If I cut myself open... Will I finally be able to rest ?

An escape made for a coward like him.

Resigned, his head falls back between his hands. They are cold and weak. Jason looks at them in the shadows of the night and nausea crawls inside his stomach. 

If I die... Can it finally stops ?

Another cry find the way out of his throat. And his fists punch his head again. 

— Jason ?

A soft voice and warm fingers beside him break the silence. He stays still while a body holds his. 

— ... I can't go on like... Sal'... I... Fuck.

Let me sleep. Please. Anyone.

Behind him, the man who closes his arms around his shaking body put kisses on the pale skin. 

— I am here for you. I am here with you, Jason. 

— Why can't I... 

Finally tears run, fast and salty, against his cheeks. Salim doesn't add another word, he just holds him tighter and confort his lover with all of his strength. No question, no jugdment, nothing except his reasuring aura.

Jason leans in. His breaking point is close, so close that he can touch it in the back of this mind, but at least Salim is there to keep him alive. 

It is not much, of course it ain't, yet it means everything for him on these nights.

He suddenly remembers that he is loved and dying would destroy this beautiful and fragile hope of getting better one day.

And so even if the sleep won't come, even if the suffocating feeling is unberable, he can still fight for Salim. He can still stay alive just for him.
