Wait… Isn’t Ed Balls day coming up? ED BALLS DAY, I HAVE TO GET READY TO CELEBRATE
What’s Ed Balls day?
Omg, okay explanation time.
On the 28th of April, 2011, Ed Balls got a Twitter account. He decided (as most people under the spotlight do) to attempted to look up his own name. However, all he did was tweet “Ed Balls”. This, for some reason, got retweeted by THOUSANDS of people. On a global scale. And because he didn’t know you could delete a tweet it stayed. Every year since then, the 28th of April is Ed Balls day.
This is the infamous tweet
and here are some gems to celebrate that have followed the years, including last year where they framed the tweet and got him to sign it for charity
There are also LOADS MORE in this article from the Telegraph

anxiety is so insane bc ppl will treat it like it's no big deal, like it's "one of the "easy" mental illnesses" or something, and then you have it and it's insanely debilitating and you lose most of your life and your time and energy to it. yesterday i spent 2 hours sitting in my bed trying to convince myself to go to a water fountain to get some water. one time i got so scared to take a bus i passed out. like sure it's a spectrum and i'm definitely at the more severe end of it but the fact that milder cases exist doesn't mean it's not still a problem? and it doesn't mean that those people aren't struggling too
1 in 5 people should not be allowed on the bus thank the bus driver you cunt
Have you eaten linguine a la vongole?
Yes, and I liked it
Yes, and I didn't like it
No
I haven't heard of it

obviously people steal things from other people it's one of the oldest tricks in the book but it still always surprises me to learn that people plagiarise because my introduction to the concept was basically being told that if i ever plagiarised anything i would be executed by firing squad and my head would be removed and displayed on a spike outside the walls of the hallowed academic institution i was attending as a warning to others
at uni we had the big scary plagiarism talk, lots of reminders, an online quiz on like plagiarism and ethics and stuff that we had to complete or we'd be kicked off the course, and then on our FIRST group project a member of my group sent his section in at the last minute and it was really obviously copied from wikipedia but there wasn't enough time to change it. luckily the rest of us weren't penalised because it was supposed to be a gentle introduction to group projects, but i was TERRIFIED for a while
ID: image of a tall sign in a medical waiting area. The text is red and black on white, and at the top is a stylized drawing of a person "yelling". The drawing is crossed out. The original poster has covered phone numbers and the clinic name. The sign reads:
Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
There is zero tolerance for all forms of aggression and incidents may result in removal from this facility. Our administration supports our medical professionals in pressing charges for aggressive or abusive behavior they encounter while caring for patients.
Aggressive behavior includes:
• Abusive language
• Failure to respond to staff instructions
• Physical assault
• Sexual harassment
• Sexual language directed at others
• Threats
• Verbal assault
WARNING: Assaulting a medical professional who is engaged in the performance of his or her official duties is a serious crime.
/End ID
So these signs have gone up in all the clinics in this system. They're big. Almost as tall as I am.
I have a lot to say, but first I really want to know how this sign would make you feel as a patient.
How would you feel seeing this sign immediately upon walking into your provider's office? (And if it would make you uncomfortable, why?)
i would not want to take my grandma there because she has dementia and if she isn't able to communicate properly with someone (either because they can't understand her or she can't understand them) she gets frustrated and can be aggressive. and she definitely has trouble responding to instructions quickly, you have to be patient with her and not snap or shout. if she got overwhelmed i don't know if they'd handle it properly or if they'd make the situation worse.
i think it's reasonable to warn people that they can be removed for being aggressive, but the wording is not good.
