Thinking about teenage Ford and Stan and the subtle, quiet way that things between them had changed without them admitting it. In the way they shared shy glances and smiles, the way their hands lingered a little too long on each other's. They would walk home together from school with their shoulders touching, their fingers lightly brushing. Over dinner, under the table, they would playfully kick each other's feet more often.

Lately, when helping Stan study, Ford's face would inch closer to Stan's, his gaze unwavering, teaching him slowly unlike before and Stan's eyes would flit down to his lips.

Whenever Ford had to carry a badly injured Stan on his back from a fight, Stan's hold around him would tighten, angling his face just so against Ford's cheek, their lips just a breath away from each other's.

They never talked about their hidden feelings. Never said I love you, haven't done any sexual activities together–but things between them had changed in quiet ways.
