Ever consider that Will Turner never even saw (much less wanted) the heart of Davy Jones? He only stole the key. He only wanted Elizabeth. Yet he ended up the captain of The Flying Dutchman.

You know the only people who did see it?

Jack: the one who wants it for selfish reasons and to save his hide

Elizabeth: the one who wants it for good reasons and to save her dad and her fiancé

James: the one who didn't want it and didn't believe it existed until he saw it

And who, out of this bunch, ends up successfully stealing it? James. Idk, there's something fitting about this downtrodden and repeatedly rejected Navy guy unearthing and beholding and possessing the beating heart of a cursed sea captain who cut out his own heart because he was sick and tired of the pain of his love.

Do you ever consider that this heart might've beat disturbingly in tandem with his? Hidden in his shirt, against his chest . . .?

Okay but hear me out: Uncle Norrington headcanons.

Norrington surviving At World’s End (wait that’s not a headcanon that’s cold hard fact hahahaha) and continuing to advance through the ranks of the Royal Navy so he can keep madmen like Beckett from taking power ever again

Norrington making sure that his fleet stays out of the way of the Dutchman so he never has to fire on Will

Norrington lying–but only by omission–about the existence of Shipwreck Cove

Norrington grudgingly accepting that Elizabeth isn’t going to stop being a pirate and choosing to turn a blind eye to her adventures and secretly support them rather than have her hanged

Norrington keeping an eye on little Henry Turner while Elizabeth is off playing Pirate King

Norrington and Elizabeth teaching Henry how to tie knots and handle sails and defend himself with a sword

Norrington reflecting on all that Weatherby Swann did for him, and becoming that mentor for someone else

Norrington being reluctant to go against Elizabeth’s wishes when Henry asks for help joining the Navy, but eventually agreeing because he knows how ruinous the curse has been and how happy Elizabeth would be if Will came home

Norrington finding the home and the love he’s always wanted, if not in the way he thought….
