i decided that i'm gonna start making character moodboards with my headcanons and yap about them for a little while
today's character is Cole from Lego Ninjago
(again long post alert XD)
first things first he's pan oriented aroace (that's the flag i used in the background btw)
about his music taste
he really likes rock and metal music (he would totally listen to linkin park and metallica) and even though his dad's band's music is far from that, it's nostalgic to him and loves to listen that every once in a while
his style
streatwear, baggy stuff (other ninja, especially Jay and Nya, like stealing his hoodies bc they're comfy and too big for them)
favorite food
cake (i don't think i need to elaborate haha) bc he's an aroace icon and it's a good memory from childhood, bc his parents would bake it together while dancing in the kitchen after Lily was coming back home from her ninja quests and he would always help them (mostly by trying the frosting and dough and giving song requests but Lily and Lou loved it bc they loved their little Cole)
favorite flowers
lilies, his mom's name was Lily so they remind him of her, when she was still alive, him and his dad would go buy lilies for her every Mother's Day and after she died every Day of the Departed, also when he turned 18 he got a tattoo of a lily on his arm to always remember his mom
favorite stuff to do/hobbies
dancing, he had a complicated relationship with it throughout his life, when he was a little kid he loved it, bc when Lily was busy being a badass ninja and going on her quests (you know saving Shintaro or taking part in the Tournament of Sources), Lou was a SAHD and was teaching his son how to dance, so it was a lot of fun for little Cole who loved spending quality time with his dad; when he was a teenager and Lily died, there was a chance that her disease was caused by being exposed to a lot of vengestone in Shintaro for too long, no one knew for sure, but it was highly possible, bc the disease could be only found in elemental masters and Lou was dealing terribly with losing the love of his life so he promised himself he won't lose his child like he did his wife, so he forced Cole to go to this school of arts so that he wouldn't discover that he also is a ninja like his mom and at that point Cole hated dancing bc he was forced to do it; later on when he had a good relationship with his dad again he liked dancing again bc of the good memories from childhood and he just likes dancing with the rest of the ninja for fun (especially Jay and Nya) and when he adopted Frak, one of the first things he did while training him, was teaching him some basic dance steps
hiking/climbing the mountains, he does that when he needs to think, being so close to his element helps him focus and relaxes his mind in a way, also sensei Wu found him when he climbed a mountain, so it also reminds him of his ninja origins
listening to music, he just listens to music almost 24/7, sometimes just to listen to it, but sometimes while doing chores or sometimes while doing stuff he likes
other fun headcanons
he has his dad's old wallet, that was a gift from his grandpa (Lily's dad) when he heard they got engaged, and he keeps a picture of the Finders, a picture with Frak and an old picture of his parents in it
he wears an ace ring and an aro ring
him and Jay have matching friendship bracelets
he has nicknames for everyone on the ninja team but comes up with most of them on the spot
he sometimes likes to watch videos of people reading reddit posts and judges alloromantic people (just communicate or break up you absolute bufoon dorito!)
it was his idea for Frak to join the team bc he saw him get kicked out of Ras's team and generally be treated poorly by him and his people, so he was like come here kiddo, you can join us if you want to
he has an aroace flag in his room in the monastery (his dad bought it for him when he came out)
Jay likes bringing him along when he's visiting his parents (he also brings Jay sometimes when he's visiting his dad)
his best friends are Jay, Vania and Nya
Geo is his queerplatonic partner
he absolutely loves hugs
before he realised he's aroace, he thought he was bi (but was just mistaking platonic and aesthetic attraction for romantic, that's why he used to believe he has crushes on Nya and Jay during the love triangle in rebooted)
he explained asexuality to Frak
he's very affectionate with all his friends, so he has the most mysterious relationship status out of all the ninja
he actually speaks up about a-spec people during ninjago city pride every year but a lot of people ignore that
