How has nobody thought of a Velocipastor FLASHPOINT JASON TODD AU yet.......
sometimes you need dialogue tags and don't want to use the same four
Just saw someone say as bad of a father oliver queen was he's still not as bad as Bruce Wayne
Do you know what the reblog said?
" Oliver was a good parent who made mistakes, Bruce on the other hand..."
Yeah it was a mistake to abandon your kid who got addicted when you have all the means to help him , a really simple tiny one
And I was so shocked I just ssed that shit and I've been sitting on it for hours AND I NEEDED TO SHARE IT AND NOW YOU'RE IN THIS WITH ME
(Not providing the ss for the user's rights of free speech, but their opinion is really wrong so we're quoting them)
Oh dear God. Hmm.
The way Oliver dealt with Roy's addiction is uh. Not it, to put it slightly 😭 funnily enough, I think both Oliver and Bruce suffer from the same case of 'they have too many damn different comic appearances' so you will inevitably get comics where they are portrayed in a bad light to uplift someone else. Bruce more than Oliver, because DC has the habit of inserting him everywhere, but Green Arrow has his fair share of appearances and characterisations that sometimes just go way past reasonable. It's what happens when ya skim the history of a character who has existed for years and write a story around em. It's also what happens when ya are in an era where drug safety is being preached and you need a beloved hero to embody that and show the children the dangers of drugs.
Oliver has his good moments, we can give the fans that. But you also have to admit that Bruce also has good moments. In fact he has had a lot of good moments. If we agree that Oliver is a good parent who has made some mistakes, then the same courtesy should be extended to Bruce, I feel. Unfortunately for us, Bruce is The Devil /sarc.
Thanks for the ask friend!
I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.
and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.
everybody say thank you ao3
i think its rlly good character writing for jason to assume things abt bruce's feelings without ever asking directly but man it'd be cool if fans and writers stopped viewing jason's misinterpretations as the truth.

My name is Tasneem, from Gaza. 🕊️
My father was martyred in the war 💔, and since then life has become much heavier… Despite everything, I worked hard and graduated high school with a 93% average 🎓, still holding on to my dream of continuing my education.
My name is Tasneem, and I'm from Gaza. My father was killed in the war , leaving us to face life alone amidst unbearable hardship. Despite
I was able to enroll at the University College of Applied Sciences and complete my first semester, but I couldn’t continue due to accumulated fees I cannot afford.
We are a family of seven 👨👩👧👦. Our home was completely destroyed 🏚️, and now we live in a worn-out tent by the sea 🌊, struggling every day just to survive.
My younger brothers, Adam and Ahmed 👦👦, are orphans growing up in hardship, and my sister Arwa was unable to start high school because we cannot afford the fees 📚.
My mother is doing everything she can 🤍, but the burden has become too much.
I am asking for a chance… to continue my education, to help my sister return to school, and to give my brothers a more stable life 🌱
Any support—even if small—can truly make a difference in our lives 🙏✨

What if the batkids call Bruce "Dad" only in their civvies, but then call Batman "Mom"
.
It started with Dick pondering about the whole "secret identity" thing as a young Robin. The news are partially about Brucie Wayne, young dad extraordinaire setting an example for all reformed rakes turned fathers.
Then half of it is about speculations on Batman's true form — because while they all could've sworn that Batman was, well, a man... most investigators are hesitant to consider him human now because suddenly there's a toddling colorful child creature bobbing along after the living legend, with the same moves and capabilities as the Bat
Dick gets the brilliant idea to make Bruce into it
"Think about it!" Dick said on that first patrol, "People won't think too harsh on Batman if they figured that I'm just your little cub who is also made to fight crime, instead of a human kid out on the streets at night."
Bruce narrowed his eyes, but there's no harshness in his gaze. He's looking at this little boy, with messy curls of black and the sweetest shade of blue in his eyes. A reflection of him. How cruel it is of this boy to play with his feelings.
"You want people to think that the Batman is a creature that can give birth?" Bruce repeated carefully.
"More than that! I want them to think you're my mother!"
"...same thing."
"Bleh!"
.
It works as Dick proposed. Lesser ties made to Bruce Wayne, a cisgender man who can definitely not give birth, to Batman, a creature that allegedly birthed Robin. Bruce thinks it's the stupidest solution to a common problem, and he made Brucie.
But it works so they let the story run wild. Bruce doesn't mind so much as the weird, hungry, curious gazes that some villains and thugs give him.
Dick seemed to find it hilarious when ladies stopped Batman in the streets to tell him to rest because "you just gave birth!!"... only until said people also tell him to "respect your mother!"
Overall, it was just another one of those weird things a vigilante resorts to for the sake of operational efficiency...
...
Until one time, Robin had gotten captured in a ship rigged to blow, and villains left and right were hitting him everywhere.
Batman had priorities on the other side of the docks. Robin just had to distract everyone else, and this was a distraction technically. But everything hurt and some of the older men were looking at him funny and he can't move and he wants to go home.
"MAMA!" Robin shrieked into the night.
And descended from the shadows was the Batman, in all his apparently motherly glory — towering above 6 feet, maybe more, because animals grow their appearance when preparing to pounce. A culmination of darkness and rage. Armed to the teeth with weapons and artful precision.
His white eyes turn to a bloodied, shaking young Robin, then to the rest of the fools who dared breathe his boy's air. The sound of rage he made was not human.
Every move is calculated and efficient; not with the aim to kill, but to make an example of the bastards who dared hurt his little bird.
.
This story will be passed along the underworld of Gotham for years to come as more and more of the Bat's brood grew
And this secret will be inherited from Robin to Robin, Batgirl to Batgirl
Bruce is a father — providing, stern, careful
But Batman? They each came from his symbol, his cloth, his rearing. And Batman is a much more violent creature when it comes to protecting those who have his mark.
If that's not a mother, then what other deadly creature can the Bat of Gotham possibly be?
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
"You've acquired a child" Arthur says in a weird tone and Bruce blinks "Wait whose kid is that?" Oliver is glancing over the room like he thinks someone else is going to appear out of thin air and claim Tim. Against his own common sense Bruce clutches Tim closer, the four-year-old shifting into a more comfortable position in his lap.
"Daddy, blanket" Tim murmurs, tugging on his cape for emphasis as the room goes unnaturally quiet. Bruce doesn't respond verbally, too busy assessing his coworkers confusing reactions as he wraps Tim carefully in his cloak, the little boy promptly smushes his face back into Bruce's chest.
OR
Bruce is forced to introduce a sick Tim to the Justice League.
This was on a post about BRUCE having all sort of connection around Gotham, be it as Batman, Bruce Wayne, Matches Malone, or any other identities of his. I liked the original comment, because I myself have an hc that Bruce has engaged some sex workers to come at the manor and lie to the police that they had sex all night long. And knowing how irl sex workers do not trust the cops, no way Gotham sex workers trust their scummy pigs.
Anyway, I wouldn't be making this post if it wasn't for that answer about Jason. Reminder, this is a post about BRUCE, and here we are, making it about Jason and how he is the hero of Crime Alley. They are telling someone that their hc is wrong, based on FANON bs about Jason. Because, in the comics, Jason was a pimp (see: Under The Red Hood). That's the only interaction with sex workers he had as Red Hood I know of. Wait, he also used a girl trauma from being forced into prostitution against her (see: Green Arrow: Seeing Red) He also started a gang war and a drug war (see: Under The Red Hood and Green Arrow: Seeing Red), so idk when he helped people into rehab.
I don't remember him doing any of that. You know who I know did that? BRUCE WAYNE. (And other characters, but this was a Bruce's post so we are only focusing on him) Batman protects sex workers, cries them when they die and brings their killers or abusers to justice, when cops normally turn a blind eye. There is even a Batman: Black and White issue where he calls Superman to help to save a sex worker's life. Bruce is the one to help people get into rehab, to help people get better job, to leave the life of crimes. He is the one financing community centers so the kids have somewhere to go (See: Red Hood and Arsenal), and he is the one who come see these kids so often just to listen to them and help them (see: Gotham Knights). Bruce anonymously supports financially some shady businesses in Crime Alley so they don't close (see: Batman: Black and White). Matches Malone has many friends in Crime Alley.
Where did Jason did any of that? Where the fuck did he became the "ever competent Duke of Park Row"??? I'm going to tell you: NOWHERE.
Jason doesn't own Crime Alley or Park Row, the place where BATMAN WAS BORN. He is not their protector, and they do not prefer to snitch to him than to Batman, Bruce Wayne, Matches Malone or any other identities of Bruce!
Some examples of what I talked about under the cut.
batman #664. he is the kindest man i know batman #665. the kindness he gave came back to him when branca beat the fuck out of him and roxy and her friends found him in the alley and she drove him to safety
We cannot forget his first meeting with Selina where he beats up their pimp after seeing child prostitute Holly Robinson.
We also cant forget Haddie McNeil [the daughter of a socialite who "sleeps with" (is raped by) older socialite men because she wants the feeling of a father who cares for her] whose death he feels very responsible for because he turned her down harshly. He is the only person at her funeral who cares that a 13 year old died. Her own parents are disgusted by her and accuse Bruce of only caring about her because he slept with her (he didn't).
And that's not the only instance he cares about a girl more than their own parents do.
Her own father, instead of grieving her, tries (and succeeds) to get batman hooked on venom. Bruce is the only one who cares about Sissy, as usual.
He cares about women and girls so much when even their own parents don't.
Wait, if I'm not mistaken, his first meeting with Selina is before he becomes Batman, while he is searching for a way to fight crime. So, his first act toward fighting crime in Gotham is punching a pimp.
Taking away the virtue of protecting sex workers and sa survivors from Bruce and giving it to Jason when Jason is the one with history of benefiting from the industry while Bruce has consistently tried to dismantle it from the grassroots sure is...... a choice!!!
This is just one of many examples of people dismissing Bruce's positive traits and attributing it to his kids THEN insisting that he doesn't have the same values/feats
Alfred loves pissing Bruce off by unhelpfully reminding him that his children are growing up, in part because this was also his form of humor when Thomas was around and Bruce was the child being raised with love, but also because it's the easiest way to emotionally ruin Bruce without being mean
--------
Like imagine new parent Bruce holding a sleepy 9-year-old Dick in his arms and cooing "Alfred look at his dimples 🥺"
And Alfred gets the mischievous break in him, the one he was certain died with Thomas and Martha, as he smiles and goes "Yes, I'd imagine his future lover would find them just as endearing"
Bruce pauses. Starts tearing up. Alfred is trying not to laugh.
--------
It continues when Bruce adopts Jason.
The worst of it happened when Bruce was first helping Jason into the uniform boutique to get suited for his first set of academia wear. Bruce is gushing because "Look at you, Jaybird! My handsome, handsome boy 🥹"
Alfred unhelpfully butts in, adding, "You are truly stalwart, Master Jason 😊 I can perfectly picture you in graduation robes in these same colors"
Bruce starts ugly wailing in the middle of the boutique. Jason offers to call Dick because "he'll know how to calm Dad down!! 😰"
Then Bruce starts crying harder because Dick is all grown up, and if he sees his baby and his babier baby together, he might just pass out
--------
For Tim, it happened quietly, because losing his second son altered the way Bruce showed love (but it was love nonetheless)
Alfred didn't even mean for it to happen this time, because he thought it would do well to retire this kind of humor after the cycle had been complete with Bruce losing both one father and one son.
Tim was just putting his first line in the family height doorway since getting adopted. Alfred makes a loud observation, "You are much taller when you arrived in this family than Master Dick and Master Jason had"
Bruce teared up quietly... then promptly picked Tim up and hugged him like an overgrown floppy teddy bear. Tim is just "Welp! This might as well happen 😃"
--------
Somehow it got worse with Cass because of the fact she was his first daughter, and Bruce is not ready for anything about it
Alfred mentions letting Cass pick out items from the family jewels for her first appearance as a Wayne. He goes into full detail about how Cass picked the most beautiful diamond necklace, and how she might want to consider keeping it for her future wedding because it's the set of diamonds that go well with anything white
Bruce is seen curled up on the floor. Cass comes in, reads her dad's body language, and looks Alfred dead in the eye while saying, "You are an evil man"
--------
Damian is warned of Alfred's choice of humor around Bruce, but it doesn't make it less disconcerting when it finally happens to him.
He and Jon had gone up to Bruce to ask if they can take the bus to the city. Bruce is fretting and all, never mind the fact that his son was a trained assassin being escorted by a honed Kryptonian.
Alfred is nearby, and gears up to drop the worst line ever:
"Honestly, Master Bruce 🙄 it's as if Master Jon just asked you for Master Damian's hand in marriage 😑 Just let the lad go, sir 😒"
And Bruce face goes from serious, thoughtful dad, to a snotty, ruined, curled up mess
Damian is distraught. "PENNYWORTH, WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT!?"
"I believe this is what you kids call... for the love of the game 😌"
Bruce pulls Damian on his lap, pouting "Dami you can't get married until you're 30 🥺 okay??? You'll break my heart 🥺 I just got you back in my life, I'm not gonna give you away again so soon 🥺"
Damian is blushing horribly, "Father, you almost married my mother at age 21, you're being ridiculous. Jon, get me out of here before my father thinks about screaming in anguish"
[Jon is rooted in place, blushing madly, imagining one day talking to his childhood crush's father to ask for permission to propose]
"JON NOT YOU TOO 😰🤬"
Hello! I know that this might be a weird question but I was genuinely curious, why do you think so many people become obsessed with Bruce Wayne/Batman in canon? I mean, literally all of his rouges gallery is obsessed with him, I just want to know what you think is so appealing about him to people in the DC universe. Thank you and have a great day/night! :)
Cause he’s so funky, fresh, and super sexy
But, I think it’s cause he has a lot of similarities to his rouges
He’s gone through his own tragedies, betrayals, and challenges, and yet he continues to persevere and do good with what he’s been given
Instead of succumbing to villainy, he goes out of his way to do good. It would’ve been so easy for Batman to give up in the face of all these evil people with powers while he has none, and yet, he doesn’t
He could easily do it. He has the right. But he won’t.
And in the end, no matter what, he still continues to hold out hope for them. The rest of the world has already given up, believing that there is no chance of redemption, and the villains themselves keep clinging to their ways, and yet Batman still believes
Maybe they want him to stop, maybe they want to see what his limit is for them, maybe they have no other way to express thanks, and their brains are so warped from the green goo that made them this way, because we have to remember (as Batman does remember) that his villains are severely mentally ill without any good support
He doesn’t give up on people
A lot of people characterize Batman as being the opposite of Superman, meaning they see Superman as an optimist and Batman as a pessimist.
I think that there’s no way Bruce isn’t an optimist most of the time and a realist when he needs to be. If he didn’t hold any optimism in his heart, he wouldn’t put on that Batsuit day in and day out; he would’ve given up on trying to fix Gotham’s crime issues a long time ago. He wouldn’t have made it this far. He wouldn't have been able to inspire the number of people that he has, and the hero community would be significantly smaller
Bruce and Batman are good people at their very core. They want to help people
No matter the mistakes and misunderstands they’ve caused, he is a hero. That is who he is
I don’t think of him as a cop; otherwise, he would be a cop and not a vigilante. Sometimes their morals align, yes, but Bruce understands the corruption that plagues their justice system and actively works against it. He was a victim of that court system, and he wishes no one would suffer the way he did. He is actively making sure no one does
By definition, what he’s doing is against the law. He’s a vigilante. The GCPD has tried to arrest him several times before. In reality, he mostly works with Jim rather than the police.
I think Bruce is a bit of a fool for believing that his crusade to protect Gotham is rooted in his need for vengeance, and how Batman strikes fear into the hearts of criminals
He is love, he is grief, and he is hope.
What is grief if not love persisting through death with nowhere to go? What is hope if not preserving through challenges and clawing your way up after being knocked down? They all go hand in hand.
At the end of the day, the people of Gotham love him because he’s keeping them safe. They know when they look up into the sky and see his symbol, that Batman is coming to save the day. He is one of them, whether they understand that he's human or not
Children know they’re safe with him, parents know they’re safe with him, and so are their children, adults, and elders know he’s safe. Everyone, no matter who you are or what you've done, is safe under Batman. But make no mistake, you will be punished for your crimes. He isn't completely forgiving; that's for the victims to decide, and he lets them have it with no judgment
Bruce downplays his contributions to Gotham both when he’s Bruce Wayne and Batman. I'm afraid that’s just the way he is.
But Bruce is appealing because he’s there. He’s always gonna be there. No matter what happens, no matter what you’ve done, you can turn around and ask for. And he’ll do it, he’ll help you.
Mom. It's a three letter word, a painful word for most of the Bats but they reclaim it and use it where it can serve the most purpose. Annoying and comforting Bruce.
"Mom," and it's Dick rolling his eyes at Bruce who tells him to put a sweater over his going out outfit because it's cold.
"MOM," and it's Tim wailing because somebody used his towel and left it on the floor.
"Mom," and it's Steph, with her hand out for the chocolates that he keeps in the utility belt.
"Mooooooom?" and it's Duke, because sonething fucking weird is going on and he's wants away from it or answers.
"Mom," and it's Damian being serious as he can be with all his 4ft 6" and he can do whatever it is himself.
"Mom," and it's when Cass thinks Bruce is thinking too hard and he's getting those frown lines.
"Mom," and it's Jason who tries to say it with disgust or flippancy and can't manage quite it.
"Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom," and it's all his little birds, pulling at his cape, his sleeve, crawling all over him, letting him get so peace.
the firelord that cut his sleeve
Kon : So... Jon! Are you in love with someone?
Jon watching Damian : Me? No.
Kon glancing at Damian : Really? ...What about Damian?
Jon lovingly staring at Damian : Ah... Dami? Oh, no, no, no! I just like him as a friend...
Kon : ... Why are you eyes shaped like heart?
Jon : Allergies...
