Hi, guys, Iām back. Please make your request and let me know what you think!
He felt something off. It was a weird feeling, maybe his nerves were getting to him or the burrito he had for lunch, but something was bothering him. Resolving not to focus on the impression he had, he put his attention on the woman in front of him, the beautiful lady that had stolen his heart in the couple years he had known her.Ā Ā
He couldn't feel more fortunate. There she was, sitting in the elegant restaurant he had made reservations for. It was a bit too much for what they normally would go to, but tonight was special. People around them seem to be keen on talking almost a little too loud for their liking, but it became manageable.Ā
"So... are you going to tell me what are we celebrating?" she asked him. Watching him look through the menu in search of his pick.
"I can't do something nice for my girl once in a while?" he answered sarcastically, knowing fully that she could see right through him. Giggling she reaches forward and took one of his hands that were on laying on the table. "Babe, let's be honest here, you could cook this whole menu in an afternoon when you are bored," she states "so either something great happened, something is about to happen or you did something wrong. So tell me which one it is".Ā
"How about we enjoy this nice dinner like we are a normal couple and I tell you after that?" he suggests, smirking at her. She could only laugh at the silliness of the man in front of her. Nodding she let him have fun with this idea. The evening rolled out perfectly, they both loved the food, drinks, and the company of each other.Ā
Support me!
Hi guys,Ā
I know it has been a while, Iām sorry. But today I come to tell you that Iām going back to writing once again. And if you like my way of writing, what I write about, etc. I welcome you to support me, this is only if you are able and if you believe what I do itās worth it.Ā
Thanks for reading. AND MY REQUEST ARE OPEN!Ā
My favourite things about Scrivener
1. Navigation. You can see all your chapters, scenes, character & setting planning at one glance and switch between them very easily - compared to scrolling up and down in one long word processing document. Every file can also be a folder, so you can have collapsible items underneath it.
2. Word count targets. The āProject Targetsā are particularly useful for NaNoWriMo so you donāt have to keep looking back at the website to see how youāre doing for the day, but more so outside of it, when you want to keep yourself working to a target but donāt have Nanoās charts and daily word counts. It also gives you a nice ding when you hit your session target.
3. How many pages? I only recently discovered this, but itās very nice to be able to see in Project Statistics approximately how big your manuscript would be in pages without worrying about formatting.Ā
4. Outlining.Ā Scrivener has two methods of outlining - one is Corkboard, which is exactly what it sounds like, a digital corkboard with notes pinned on it that represent your chapters/scenes with their summaries. The screenshot above is called āoutlinerā and lists collapsible chapters/scenes with various statistics you can select as shown in the tick menu. Generally I prefer Corkboard, but Outliner is useful if you just want to see everything in a clear order.Ā
5. Full screen.Ā I get distracted very easily when writing, so the full-screen writing mode is wonderful for me to avoid that - but you can still choose certain windows from the normal Scrivener view to show up. I have my targets and my summary, so I can stick to my plan when Iām writing and also see what progress Iām making.
6. Notes. No screenshot, but itās a simple post-it note style box to the side of every document (chapter, scene, character etc.) that allows you to add notes. This may sound very simple, but itās far more useful than Iād expected. During NaNoWriMo when Iām not meant to be editing at all, but I know something needs fixing, I will jot down something in the side like āTake out the horseā so that when I go through again to edit I know exactly the things to focus on immediately but which would have taken too much time before. Itās linked to the scene so I donāt just have a pile of notes in one document at the end and then have to work out where it needs fixing.
Overall
I downloaded Scrivener for the first time two years ago, and now I canāt imagine working without it. Itās so nice to have the planning and the writing all combined into one place where I can easily switch between the two. I havenāt yet got as far in a novel created in Scrivener to use the compile features so I canāt comment on those, but so far all my experiences of it have been good.
One thing to note is that if transferring project between a Windows and a Mac version of Scrivener, itās generally best to zip the file first.
[Screenshots from my current novel Kindling Ashes using the Mac version of Scrivener - some features may not be available in Windows yet.]
I use Scrivener religiously. Well worth the money I spent on it, honestly. My drafting and planning style was basically unadulterated chaos before this program.
Iāve used Scrivener for years now, and canāt imagine using any other word processor for fiction writing ever again.
You can get Scrivener here.
I wrote my thesis using Scrivener and it was SO HANDY at keepinh everything in one place

Iāve had this for years now and itās an amazing program. 10/10 would recommend
It even does screenplay and scripts formats
Writers, this program will change your life
Not usually one to promote things especially on here but I recently started using this program and I love it so much. Do the trial before you buy to make sure it works for you but Iām so happy I gave it a shot.
