“fantastic.” nina replied with a soft chuckle, leaning back to look the woman over before looking up to face her again. “you know, i’d like that, but only if you let me buy the first round.”

brows furrow as she processes her words, surely this girl (or at least in this appearance) was not a friend to her, though she wouldn’t question it. “certainly better than it’s treating everyone else.”

“good, that’s... good.” nina agreed with a quick nod, glad to hear that things were going well for her mother in this wretched town. “i imagine not everyone is as fortunate.”

nadia raised an eyebrow, she’d only just arrived in town. it had been a good few years, that much she knew. her eyes lingering on buildings until a voice caught her attention. “nope, just looking around.”

nina looked at her older sister curiously, trying to keep her relaxed demeanor. she knew nadia couldn’t know it was her, though that didn’t bring her any more comfort. “alright, figured i should ask.”
