Decided to open a side blog. I try to keep stuff that isn’t related to my audios off the main account, since it’s supposed to be purely a content-driven Tumblr. This way I can reblog stuff I think is cool without spamming. Couple notes:

Please don’t send me asks to this side blog about audio requests or things related to them. Those should still go to my main audio Tumblr.

It doesn't really help to specify that you're talking about modern Christians who've never studied their religion and only practice it because their parents did, either.

I promise you a lot of casual Christians already subscribe to the exact weird heresy you just invented; in fact, I'd go so far as to say that most casual Christians subscribe to at least one of the weird heresies you only get by massively overthinking shit. It's just that because they've never formally studied, they don't realise that, and honestly think their take on the matter is what all Christians believe.

I have literally run into a guy whose main source of scriptural exegesis was having watched the Superbook anime as a kid who'd managed to reconstruct docetism from first principles. Genuinely had no idea he was a heretic – he thought everybody thought Jesus was a hologram!

I have a degree in theology and I cannot count the number of times I've had conversations with people who are convinced they've got some new revolutionary take on religious figures and religious expression and I'm like "Yeah that was a whole minor heresy one upon a time in a distant land. I'd have to look up the exact name of it but I can find some formative literature if you're interested in exploring the idea in the modern era".

They never take me up on it. Turns out actual theology is hard, and personal heresies are free and the clergy can't stop you.

very funny that the solution to shatner and nimoys feuding and ego problems behind the scenes was send them to the yaoi mines until they worked it out and this was suggested by acclaimed science fiction writer isaac asimov they will stop fighting over lines and spotlight if you always place the characters together and make their relationship central to the show one cannot think of spock without kirk and kirk without spock and next domino falls slash fiction is invented..

I love how literally every account of this situation I've ever read has been very careful to frame it as a personality conflict between two Big Egos while also communicating an extremely clear subtext that it was really just Shatner being a big pissbaby over the fact that teenage girls liked Nimoy's character better than his.

Inadvisable tabletop RPG premise #137: Nobilis-style god game, except instead of being the rulers of various fundamental concepts, the player characters are those concepts' mascots, in the sense of sports arena or theme park mascots. They still have terrible reality-warping powers, but they can only use them while wearing their mascot suits – our of costume they're effectively regular humans.

Because mascots don't talk, while the characters are suited up, their players are only allowed to speak to the GM, and then only to state what their character does; all other communication – including coordinating with other players and dialogue with NPCs – must be carried out either via exaggerated gestures*, or by holding up printed signs which the player in question has prepared ahead of time.

This restriction may temporarily be set aside by miming the act of taking off the head of one's costume, after which that player may speak normally; however, doing so renders their character powerless and vulnerable during the following exchange.

* And no sign language, either – that's disrespecting the spirit of it!

When I think of musical genres associated with standard fantasy species, it's probably elf rock and orc metal, but gnome music is definitely gnomecore. Gnomes just feel like they'd be about -core.

This is a bit of a proof of concept for something I'm working on! Neon Knights (I know the name is probably already taken) are just as they sound! Knights that live in a cyberpunk kind of world that I'm working on and I wanted to see how that would look before I got too far into it. This is my "Knight of Owls" as I'm calling her for now. I'll see what else I can come up with here soon as I'm done with Lucoa!
