     “I think I can handle myself perfectly fine. But thank you for the concern,” Mac mused with a short chuckle and a shake of the head. He was after a government agent with plenty of experience in putting himself in danger to get other’s out of it. Maybe less of it was of the ... supernatural kind - okay. none of it was. But Mac still knew what he was doing. Even if he didn’t have a plan yet. But who needed a plan when your specialty was to improvise?

“If you’re looking for Norman,” because like fuck was he going to refer to the man as his father, “He’s apparently in a meeting right now. Again. Because he’s just that busy.” A pause, an almost-apologetic smile, “But chances are that I can answer whatever question you’ve got, as long as it’s at least tangentially related to Oscorp; anything of a scientific bent, really.”

     “Ah, that’s ... unfortunate. See, I was really hoping Mr. Osborn would be here, but...” he’s ready to turn around, walk away. But he’d really just sneak back in, find his own way around the building. This Norman Osborn was a flagged name that had come up among their most recent assignments. And Matty wanted him looked in to, in person, not just on paper. “I can just come back later.”

“Peanut butter straight from the jar sounds like a great dinner tonight.”

     “One tablespoon of peanut butter allows for roughly 95 calories and 4 grams of protein - brand determined. A recommended serving is two tablespoons, and you would need to consume at least seventeen of them to gain the recommended caloric input for a day, for an adult female body. Which can be anywhere between 1600-2200. Assuming you’ve already eaten about 2/3 of that throughout the day, let’s say 1200, for a proper dinner you’d need about six and a half tablespoons. That’s 26 grams of protein. That’s not even equal to half a small steak.”

It was a question Winn thought about often. Trying to figure out if he was born to go crazy or if he could fight it off. “I’ve heard a lot of theories. I think the truth is that we will never actually know.” 

      “Theories?” His brow folded, Mac actually thinking this one over. Had they always meant to go rogue ... ? Was it fate- destiny? Like Jack had always talked about. But what about before- before the betrayal? Had that all meant nothing? Now he’s stuck in a loop. He’s thinking about Nicky ...

      “Angus MacGyver?” She offered a polite smile and she pulled out her badge, sure that he might want to actually see it before he believed her about who she was with. “I’m Maria Hill, with SHIELD.” The badge was offered for him to see, “Your director told me you might be able to help us with a problem.”

     Eyes glance between the agent and the badge, a mild skepticism. But this SHIELD was not one they’d worked with before, so what should he know? Actually, no one seemed to know about them - as like many secret government organizations. And that, Mac did know a bit about ... considering he worked for one himself. And once he decided credentials were about as solid as they come (he would just be treading lightly for now) Mac was asking his own questions. “And what is exactly is your ‘problem’?”

     “I- “ Mac often spoke without thinking. But this time the words come to a quick cut off. It was a good question. One that he wasn’t quite sure he could answer ... not from his experience. How many ‘allies’ could he name, family, that had then turned dark. “I don’t know ...”

sorry for the absence. I’ve been almost exclusively on discord for a while, as things are crazy and disorganized in my schedule. 

But with one gig wrapping up, and the next being a little more consistent, I do want to get back on the dash for things!

Mac: I think its safe to say that there are too many unknown variables at play here to answer that question with any reasonable degree of accuracy.

Riley: So, in other words, you have no idea.

Riley: Just cut to the chase next time, Mac. Just say, "No idea."

“Okay so I like your plan, except for the part where everything sucks.” Winn looked up over the top of his computer. “You should let me give you a better plan.”

      “Its a plan which is ... better than I usually have at this point, so-” Mac tried to defend himself, hands full with a plastic desk ruler, a spare coil of computer wire, ten paperclips - and now he just needs to acquire tape, a penny, and a battery. And a pair of earbuds. “What have you got?”
