“The left is indoctrinating our youth!”
Okay so fun fact- I work with the youth at least twice a week. Any time I have explained a “woke” topic to a child (for example, drag queens) it’s because they came to me and asked me about it.
Like last week a little girl at my dance studio asked me about drag queens because she saw it in a comercial and her dad wouldnt explain it to her. I gave her a very toned down, age appropriate explanation and she was like “okay thank you!” And walked away
The youth are going to be curious and ask questions, that’s what kids do. It is the adult’s jobs to answer their questions so they can gain a better understanding of the world around them, and when adults fail to do so the youth go to other they find credible, some of whom are not adults.
I was lucky enough to grow up in a house where my parents answered all my questions, no matter what the subject was. Because of that, I feel that I have gained a fair and equal perspective of the world around me, and as someone who works with kids, it is literally my job to help them grow and learn and gain a fair and equal perspective of the world. It would go against my perspective to limit information from children.
As a non-adult myself, I feel as if it would be better for a child to hear about topics from a non-adult than to never hear about them at all. Talking with parents, they agree.
