Welcome to my side blog! I wanted to start sharing my writings I've been posting on Ao3 on Tumblr too, but my main blog is so stuffed full of... stuff. It'll just get lost in my frantic reblog clutter. XD;

Either through observing or just figuring shit out ravens could 100% learn how to cast spells I'm sure of it

when i forget to log into ao3 and i have to click proceed to see an adult fic, i actually get a kick out of it. like i am an old timey queen and my bard is apologetic: “gentle lady, dicks doth touch in this next ballad. would you prefer another?” and i give him a gesture of command like, “nay, you may proceed, minstrel. bring forth the tale of dicks”

Got to admit I was a little disappointed to find out that's what "cattywampus" meant. From the word alone I assumed it was some sort of cryptid or folklore creature that was alleged to go into people's houses and fuck stuff up occasionally.

"Be careful, little Johnny, or the Cattywampus will get you. It likes to come into the bedrooms of little children at night and dump a bucket of fetid swamp water in their faces if they don't brush their teeth."

good news! cattywampus is a variant spelling of catawampus, and it has multiple meanings according to merriam webster as a noun, the definition is "an imaginary fierce wild animal, bogey" and as an adjective it can mean "fierce, savage, destructive" or "askew, awry"

to be honest before now I always thought cattywampus was similar to kitty-cornered, which is how I grew up saying something was diagonal to another thing

The question hits Yoshiki almost like a slap to the face, demanding to know why he’s not more scared than he is. Because he is, of course he is, why wouldn’t he be? Who in their right mind wouldn’t be terrified of what’s going on here, what the potential for catastrophe might be?

The simple answer is yes.

The correct answer though is…

It’s more complex than just that.

Something came back with them. From the mountain…

Yoshiki can see it. In the fuzzy blur of every movement Hikaru makes. In the way his smile sometimes becomes tense and wary. In the way his eyes linger on Yoshiki longer than they ever have before, with a glimmer of some dark, rich color that stains the almost mirror-like shine of Hikaru’s eyes.

Something came back with them from that mountain…

And it’s all Yoshiki’s fault.

Yoshiki found him—in the nick of time, he found him. Hikaru is home and alive because of him.

And that's something Yoshiki can never take back...
