haii! ive been intrested in astrology for a long time but ive been struggling to know what it means when on of your houses has several planets in it. my 12th house has the north node, pluto, venus, sun and mercury. one of my mutuals has
sun, moon, jupiter, venus and neptune in her first house.
So, this āphenomenonā in astrology actually has a name, its called a stellium. A stellium is when an individual has three planets or more in the same house in their birth chart. in your case, I wouldn't consider the north node a planet since its more of a karmic point, or astral point.Ā
having a stellium means that the energy of the house being occupied has a strong presence in your chart, since yours is in the 12th house you can expect some common themes of the house's significations such as spirituality, hidden enemies, isolation and psychological issues. now, by saying that, its not proof you would have any psychological problems, but its one of the main themes of the 12th house.Ā
another common theme of the 12th house is a problem you cannot see. since the 12th is right above the ascendant, the house of the ego and conscience, by the drawing of a birth chart the 12th house is right above the individual, so any problems or issues happening in that area is going to feel very cloudy, like when you know something is wrong and you cannot pinpoint exactly what is wrong.
for better interpretation, you can also look at the sign that occupies the house.Ā
This is simplified guide geared towards beginners and people who want to transition to a more traditional approach when assessing a chart. There is no standard method of reading charts, this is simply the method I follow & find most comfortable. Itās a practical, methodical synthesis and just the right amount of intuitive.
Before I begin, I must mention that while assessing planetary conditions I personally verify the following factors ā in this order: the sign, house, angularity, direction, whether a planet is direct or retrograde, sect (day vs night), hemisphere (1-6 vs 7-12), phase (morning vs evening, especially notable for venus & mercury), domicile lord (draw a disposition tree if needed), exaltation lord, triplicity lords, bound lord, decan lord, dodecatemoria, aspects to domicile lord if any, aspect to the ascendant if any, apsects to other planets, bonification conditions (i.e aspecting benefics, so supported by aspect), maltreatment conditions (aspected by malefics). This is important to remember because the term āconditionsā will come up a lot.
Now onto the actual guide :
1. For starters, you should (assuming you donāt already) learn how to read a whole sign house circle chart. Table charts are nice as a gateway drug, but if you're somewhat serious about learning astrology this is an important transition to make. Once you do, put the chart youāre aiming to assess in front of you, then proceed further.
2. Determine the sect of the chart. This becomes an automatism once youāre used to looking at charts, but if you're not there yet ā draw a line on the chart (or visualize said line) going from the degree of the ascendant to the degree of the descendant. If the sun is ABOVE that line ā itās a day chart, so of the day sect. If itās BELOW that line ā itās a night chart, of the night sect.
3. Take a look at the ascendant. Take note of the rising sign, its modality, & its ruling planet. Does this chart have any 1st house planets? Also, remember to do a quick overview to pinpoint which planets are angular (as in, located in the 1/4/7/10th houses)
4. Track down the ascendant ruler. Check its house placement, condition (see above), and aspects (applying vs separating).
5. Track down the Sect Light. If itās a day chart, the sect light is the Sun. If itās a night chart, that would be the Moon. Assess the sect lightās condition (see above), aspects.
6. Check which houses are ruled by the Luminaries (Sun/Moon). The interpretation of the luminaries is intrinsic to the areas of life (Houses) they rule, in addition to their independent significations.
7. Check out the phase of moon at birth. The lunation phase is extremely important as it defines the dynamic between this individualās luminaries.
8. Take a look at how Mercury is doing in said chart. Condition (see above)? Aspects? Morning or Evening star?
9. Take a look at the Benefic Of Sect & Malefic Out Of Sect (day: Jupiter/Mars, night: Venus/Saturn). Assess their condition (see above), aspects they make, etc. Regarding Venus: verify if sheās Morning or Evening star (if Venus is on the right of the Sun - Morning star, if it's on its left - Evening star). For the Malefic OOC, check if it is bonified by enclosure (i.e : Saturn or Mars are touched by a benefic (Venus/Jupiter) on each sides) ā itās a huge alleviating factor.
10. Then, assess the Benefic Out Of Sect & Malefic Of Sect (day: Venus/Saturn, night: Jupiter/Mars).
11. Then, take a global look seeking anything that may be of note. Stelliums, several retrograde planets, a Cazimi, Out Of Bounds planets, a void moon, etc.
12. Lastly, I go through each house individually. This is where the chart synthesis proper begins. In practice, I like to tell a story beginning from the 1st house & culminating in the 12th, while highlighting the thematics of each house as I go.
13. This is optional, but I like to take a look at annual and monthly profections to see which themes are presently highlighted/emphasized for the individual whose chart Iām looking at.
as someone who studies ancient hellenistic astrology and as someone whoās been genuinely enthused by astrology/synastry for a long time now.
- there is no perfect synastry. synastry is relative to the people involved; it informs us about a dynamic, but doesnāt in and of itself make a statement about the longevity, success, or even health of a relationship. youāre much better off asking a horary astrologer a specific outcome based questions about a certain relationship to get a definitive answer. a āsuccessfulā (using that word relatively, because what constitutes success differs greatly between people) relationship largely depends on two people and their karma. synastry just informs a dynamic.
- conjunctions are not positive aspects to have. ancient astrologers didnāt even consider the conjunction an aspect. itās a blending of energy, and the āgoodnessā you get from it depends on the planets involved.
for example, moon conjunct mercury can be nice for telepathy but Iāve seen it play out where the moon person doesnāt let the mercury person get a word in where theyāre talking.
if venus is conjunct mercury, thatās positive because venus is a benefic, not because the the conjunction itself is positive. even venus/mercury squares can make for a pleasant dynamic because VENUS as a planetary archetype promotes harmony no matter what aspect sheās in. conversely, venus conjunct saturn would be more difficult because Venusās pleasantness is inextricably tied to Saturnās cold, dry nature, which over time can weight her down. especially if the Saturn person is a night chart. which leads me to my next point.
- SECT MATTERS. whether one person is a day chart or a night chart matters tremendously. For people with day charts (you were born during the day, or your sun falls in houses 7-12 in the whole sign house system) your most positive planets are the sun, jupiter, and saturn. for people with night charts (you were born during the night, or your sun falls in houses 1-6 in the whole signs house system) the moon, venus, and mars are your most positive planets. mars is more troublesome in a day chart, saturn is less troublesome and more helpful. saturn is more troublesome in a night chart, mars is less troublesome and more productive.
venus conjunct saturn in the synastry where the saturn person is a night chart is going to be way more difficult than if it was a day chart. venus trine jupiter in a chart where the jupiter person is a day chart is going to be felt more positively than if they were a night chart.
- which leads me to my next point. i like venus/mars aspects waaay better when the two people are both night charts, because venus and mars are both part of the night sect. i find them hotter, thereās less bickering and more passion. yes, even the squares and oppositions. in fact i prefer them.
- a bunch of trines and sextiles in synastry are boring, and iād even go as far as saying those are the real synastry red flags. oppositions and squares bring tension, but tension is a part of growth and life. tension sparks creativity. think about the sexual tension it takes for two people to have sex and create a child. think about how the moon cycle is brought to manifestation via squares and oppositions. we have our new moon (conjunction) first quarter moon (square) so on and so forth until we reach the full moon (opposition) where things come to fruition.
trines and sextiles are nice and do have their value and place, but theyāre just that. nice. not dynamic. i barely felt it when pluto trined my sun, but when it squared my mars it spurred me to action for the better. souls need growth and thatās what the hard aspects provide.
- someoneās planet conjunct your angles isnāt necessarily good, just loud.
lemme say it again: SOMEONEāS PLANET CONJUNCTING YOUR ANGLES ISNāT NECESSARILY GOOD, JUST LOUD. that goes for the degrees of the AC, IC, DC, and MC. it can signify them being an important figure in your life, but important doesnāt always mean good, or lasting. just prominent. the angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10) are the anchors of the chart with the most important life themes, so planets here are LOUD, but loud doesnāt mean GOOD.
case in point: sophie turner and joe jonas. her venus sits right on his descendant. youād think that would mean soulmate, true love, and it very well was for them at some point, but now itās nasty divorce in the press (the descendant also being the place of opposition, and things seen in the public)
- synastry also isnāt static. what worked and was lovely one day could suffocate you tomorrow depending on your own souls growth. venus conjunct saturn can mean lovely stability and dependability between you two one day, and then three years later it means you feel like your partner gets colder and colder towards you, dampening your spark.
- saturn square venus in synastry does not work. spare yourself the heartache, itās the most blatant omen of cosmic NO Iāve ever seen and experienced. the universe does not want yāall together.
- the 8th house is not about sex. I see this so much on tumblr and it makes me want to SCREAM. the 8th house is NOT. ABOUT. SEX. it is about the consequences of merging with someone. in the 8th house you take on their benefits and their baggage. the 8th house in the ancient tradition was associated with the esteem of others, i.e being beholden to what other people have and can provide you with. speaking as an 8th house venus myself, that isnāt always fun. itās also a place associated with death, anxiety, and avoiding the inevitable. the 5th and even 7th house are much better places to look for sex. modern astrology has such a misconstrued view of the 8th house as some deep, intense sexy soul bearing place and thatās not what it is at all. i PROMISE you that if you become competent enough youāll find intensity in some other aspect or placement in your synastry.
- 12th HOUSE SYNASTRY IS NOT SOULMATE SYNASTRY. I donāt even like speaking in absolute terms, I know a happily married couple where her aries stellium falls into his 12th (trining his leo venus, but i digress) but itās more so the romanticizing of the 12th that drives me crazy. the 12th house is a place of mental anguish, suffering, isolation, and losing yourself. it is called the joy of Saturn, the greater evil-doer. it is a place of hidden enemies, and people who secretly sabotage you. if the ruler of the 7th is in the 12th, the partner can undermine you in some way. if the fourth house ruler is in the 12th, your parents or family could keep some secret from you. it is considered a bad house. the ancients called it ābad spiritā for a reason. tread carefully.
- sign affinity works! when all else fails keep it simple! youāre going to get along with people whose moon sign is in the same element as yours. if youāre a taurus venus, you just āgetā other taurus placements, regardless of the house it falls in in your natal chart.
- 11th house synastry is good, and itās not just cause youād feel friendly feelings towards each other or whatever. the 11th house is called āgood spiritā in ancient astrology, itās the joy of jupiter. planets here are uplifting and supportive, so someone elseās planets falling here would have a similar effect. itās warm. i especially like the moon here in synastry.
- nothing beats 7th house synastry. I donāt care, itās the true house of merging and intimacy and closeness. the seventh house is where you find close bonds. 1st and 5th house are close second and thirds.
- donāt sleep on love asteroids! donāt make them the end all be all, planets will always tell the story best, but iām currently obsessed with them at the moment. i could make a whole separate post on them.
- juno trines/squares/oppositions >>> juno conjunctions. iāve seen the trines function much better than the conjunctions. goes back to my point about conjunctions being neutral. i have literally seen venus conjunct juno and saturn conjunct juno relationships fall apart while saturn trine juno, or jupiter square juno relationships thrive over years.
- the asteroid person is the one who feels it in synastry. they play out the myth/meaning through the planet person. this is what iāve seen on an overarching level. if someoneās cupido conjuncts one of your planets, they have a crush/infatuation and you feel it, and may or may not reciprocate.
A Davison chart is a type of astrological chart that is used in Western astrology to examine the combined influence of two individuals' birth charts. It is essentially a midpoint chart, created by finding the midpoint between the positions of two people's natal planets and points (such as the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant) and then constructing a new chart based on these midpoints. The resulting Davison chart is not an actual celestial configuration but a symbolic representation of the relationship between the two individuals.
A Davison chart can provide insights into the dynamics and potential of a relationship between two people. It is often used in the context of romantic partnerships or any kind of close relationship, including friendships and business partnerships. Some of the insights that a Davison chart may offer include:
Shared Strengths and Challenges: The Davison chart can reveal areas where the individuals in the relationship may complement each other or face common obstacles.
Relationship Purpose: Astrologers may interpret the Davison chart to understand the deeper purpose or destiny of the relationship and what it can bring to both individuals' lives.
Timing of Significant Events: Some astrologers use Davison charts to make predictions about key moments or turning points in the relationship, such as when it may encounter challenges or experience periods of growth.
Emotional and Psychological Dynamics: The positions of planets and points in the Davison chart can shed light on the emotional and psychological dynamics at play in the relationship.
Compatibility and Potential Issues: Like traditional synastry (the comparison of two birth charts), a Davison chart can indicate areas of compatibility and potential areas of tension in the relationship.
It's important to note that astrology, including the use of Davison charts, is a belief system and not considered a science. Interpretations of astrological charts are highly subjective and may vary between astrologers. The use of Davison charts, like other astrological tools, is a matter of personal belief and should be taken with a grain of skepticism by those who do not adhere to astrological principles.
I always see this placement represented as someone being serious, mature for their age, and introverted, although some of it is true, it does not limit what Saturn can do in the 1st house. If you combine this position with an extroverted ascendant (Leo, Gemini, Sagittarius), the introversion will not be shown at first sight. These people can be extremely outgoing, extroverted, and fun but also incredibly closed when revealing their own emotions. They can be the kind of people that talk about everything BUT their real selves. Saturn in the 1st can also manifest in a medical condition that can affect how we look, since this house talks about appearance, and Saturn represents sickness.Ā
Uranus/Aquarius influence and rulership
As a traditional astrologer, I follow the traditional rulership: Mars for Scorpio, Saturn for Aquarius, and Jupiter for Pisces.Ā
Although I believe in the outer planets influence, Aquarius is not as Uranian people think they are. One of the main characteristics of Uranus is rapid/radical changes, or the drastic changes of events. Aquarius is still a fixed sign air sign, and as much as they like to pretend, theyāre not as flexible as they think. To change is to be willing to change, to be thrown out of nowhere, and to give up the sense of control. This is much more characteristic of Pisces than it is of Aquarius. The Saturn influence makes them rigid when it comes to letting go of ideals/ideas, this being their most prized possessions.Ā
Lilith in the 1st
The most common description of Lilih in the 1st house is that this is a bombshell placement. Theyāre often described as physically alluring people or some type of seductress. We tend to forget that Lilith is the mirror of projections, she appears as a fear of the unconscious collective because she expresses herself and her desires, and sheās punished by the dominance of others. Lilith is the first female liberation figure who was punished for showing control of her desires. When Lilith enters the 1st house, you donāt become a seductress, you become unapologetic, someone whoās in charge of your own shadow and light, you donāt submit, and the answer for this is people trying to dominate you.
Cancer placements
No matter how much cancer placements are portrayed as big emotional babies, I think people couldn't be more wrong about this take. Cancer, be the sun, rising, moon, etc., are closed-off people. Theyāre the first water sign with a cardinal quality, their fundamental characteristics are: retentive, dependent, emotionally aware, and moody. They do better in a closed environment with few people of their selection. Feelings are not often shown unless the chart has a more extroverted sign (Aries, Aquarius, or Sag) on emphasis. If you think of a crab, the animal representation of cancer, when threatened they go into their shell, isolating themselves and staying away from danger. For a cancer placement to open up, they have to be sure the person they're opening up to is not going use their vulnerability as a weapon against themselves. They donāt cry often, they ruminate emotions and keep them in a safe place in their minds and hearts, they never forget and they do hold grudges.Ā

hi everyone š a quick introduction to my line of study in astrology:
āļø I'm now opening astrology readings, and as a traditional astrologer my focus is mainly prediction techniques such as solar revolutions (in conjunction with annual profections), synastry, transits, and fertility readings. Although prediction is my specialty, I also do birth chart readings
āļøReadings that I offer
Solar return
Birth chart
Synastry
Monthly transits
Fertility reading
āļø Why do a reading?
The study of astrology can give us access to the unconscious in a way we cannot do it ourselves. By doing a reading of your birth chart we can identify with more certainty the pattern we follow on our day-to-day that go unnoticed. Itās always important to keep in mind that our birth chart is not permanent or incapable of changing. Throughout life we change, itās inevitable, but we donāt have only one path to follow, one placement can have innumerous possibilities of action. The most glorious thing an astrology reading can give is to be conscious of your light and shadow and to know the place we occupy, without fear of what the stars might tell us.
āļø How much?
Each reading costs 30 USD, I put it as a fixed price for any of my unit readings. If you order a combo reading such as natal chart + solar return, it would be $50. I consider a fair price since I'm a professional astrologer with a couple of years studying this subject.
āļøHow to book a reading?
For unit readings ($30), I use a website called ko-fi, I'll leave the link at the end of this post and it's also fixed on my profile. The transaction is made by PayPal on the site so it's completely safe. For those who will book thru ko-fi, when your payment has been sent, I ask you to inbox me with your birth chart information.
For combo readings ($50), you can inbox me to book, give your birth chart info, and transfer directly through my PayPal address.
āļøAbout the report
Depending on demand, I usually give it about 3 to 5 days to give a full report on any of the services I offer. The length is about 14-20 pages (it can vary) long, it's extremely detailed because I like to explain the itty bitty details, and I also think it can be important for the client to have context on the techniques I'm using when analyzing them.
Thank you for your attention <3 Let the stars speak with you!

saw a poll about whether you prefer corruption or redemption arcs and i realized that for me it's not really either, it's a distillation arc: when a character becomes the most intense version of what they could be, everything inessential falling away or being discarded so that only the core remains.
Hi! How are you? Hope I donāt bother you with this ask!š«£ Iāve just seen in my dash your post about how difficult can be for someone to have maleficent planets in the 12house, especially mars, but I didnāt get the why. My mars is in Leo in the 12th house.
Iām starting to learn about astrology and Iāve read that is the house of hidden enemies and because my Mars is in it, Iāll attract lunatics and toxic masculinity people (which had happened in the past but gave me anxiety for the future) and also about repressing angers. And I just want to understand a bit more about what implies having mars in the 12th in Leo.
In case you need some aspects: mercury (Gemini) sextile mars, Venus (aries) trine mars, ascendant (which is also Leo) conjunction mars and node (Sagittarius) trine mars. And as I know Neptune rules the 12th house, is in my 6th house in Capricorn.
Thank you so much and Iāll understand if you can answer this! Sending love! āØā¤ļø
To understand the concept of malefics, first you have to understand the concept of sects. In traditional astrology there are diurnal charts (sun above the ascendant line) and nocturnal charts (sun below the ascendant line).
Each traditional planet belongs to a sect
diurnal is Saturn (malefic) and Jupiter (benefic)
nocturnal is Mars (malefic) and Venus (benefic)
When in their preferred sect, the malefics will become less malefics. Mars in a night chart will continue to be challenging, but with more of a constructive side. In a day chart, the aggressiveness will harden and the lesson will be more difficult to learn.
It all depends if you have nocturnal or diurnal chart.
If you have a diurnal chart, a Mars on the 12th can manifest as spiritual problems and hidden enemies, aggression youāre unaware of, spiritual abuse, etc. The 12th house is complicated because is the place of bad spirit and is not a place of comfort for Mars. When diurnal, the experience with Mars can aggravate since itās not on its own sect.
If you have a nocturnal chart, the significations Mars implies on the 12th house are the same, but the way the native will receive the information will be different. This placements is almost as learning as you go, even though itās the house of hidden enemies, Mars can give you the strength to look beyond what you can see, it can be a curse or a blessing.
Since I donāt know which sect your chart is, I can loosely ļæ¼ talk about this placement.
It can mean a hard time finding self-stem because in a certain way, is out of your point of view or control. Is like your self worth natural state is of being bombed all the time. Thereās always something you canāt quite point your finger at it, an itch behind your ear that just tickles you in the wrong way. I would say enemies trying to take light out of you, your will to live and passion you have for others and yourself. But donāt be afraid of the future, this is a great placements for intuition, so with time youāll learn what is best for you. Never dismiss your gut feeling.
And as a traditional astrologer, I follow the traditional rulership, so I consider Venus to be Lord of the 12th house.
Hope I could be of help! Sorry I couldnāt talk more about your placement, but the sects really have a great impact on how a malefic will manifest and work on a chart.
Does Lilith 11H Cancer indicate that I ll never have a normal stable friendship? It also squares my moon
In astrology there's no such thing as "never", but there are precautions we can take when encountering difficult placements. With Lilith in the 11th, is good for you to develop a sense of self-worth that doesn't rely on a group's opinion of yourself. Lilith can be similar to Chiron, but the wounds Lilith carries are the perception of others rather than ourselves, the projection and fears people can carry that end up reflecting on us.Ā
With these placements (taking into account Moon square), the thing to do here is to be confident of yourself when entering a friendship, in other words, donāt let people project their bullshit into you, and donāt take up anything that it isnāt your to take (emotional baggage of others), create clear boundaries because they're going to be very important for you to have a healthy relationship with others.Ā
Having an 11th house in Cancer makes it easy to cater to a group's needs and forget about your own, but Lilith can be there to help you, to be more assertive of who you are, and to know when yourāre not being welcomed anymore. Leaving a relationship that is not healthy for you does not make you weak, it makes you a person with standards.

Combustion is when any planet is closely conjunct to the Sun. To be more specific, conjunct from 0°18ā² to 8°. If you have planets conjunct to the Sun from 9° to 15°, you would have your planetsĀ āunder the beams.ā It is possible to look at loose aspects made to the Sun since itās arguably the strongest planet in your natal chart and itās a strong luminary. If you have a planet conjunct to your Sun that is less than 0°18ā², then you have what is called cazimi.
Whatās the difference between combustion,Ā āunder the beams,ā and cazimi in terms of effects?
As illustrated, the main thing the three conditions have in common is that theyāre conjunctions made to the Sun. However, due to the varying degrees, the effects are different for each condition.
Combustion andĀ āunder the beamsā are accidental debilities* while cazimi is an accidental dignity*.
What are the effects of having a combustion in the natal chart?
In order to understand why and how a combustion can be seen as an debility (accidental, to be exact,) you have to see the symbolic and literal imagery that is shown when a combustion is present in the natal chart.
The Sun is quite hot and bright. In western astrology, it is often generally seen to be a benefic planet while in Vedic astrology, it is seen to be a malefic planet. Western astrology tends to view the rays of the Sun to be positive, warm, and inspiring while Vedic astrology can often view the rays of the Sun to be destructive and hot, for these same rays can also burn up whatever is in its way.
When your planet is combust, imagine that planet engulfed and burned up in the Sunās rays, specifically from the corona. The planet from there wouldnāt be seen due to the light of Sun covering it up. The planetās effects in other words would be weakened because the Sun would be overpowering it. The planet would not be able to have its own individual shine, and can easily lose its separate identity from the Sun in the process. This can result in the native having the planet not easily seen, for there is a strong fusion between the planet and the Sun. All conjunctions in nature illustrate two planets working as a single unit. With a combustion, however, there can often be aĀ āfusingā effect. The Sun and planet have essentially becomeĀ āone,ā with the Sun being strongly dominant.
With that in mind, the combust planet can often feel neglected for the native mainly because the functions of the planet will mostly manifest starting inside rather than outside the native. People with combust planets can often struggle to separate parts of themselves from the ego (Sun) and as a result, these planets can often be more sensitive. What natives have to ultimately learn is separate the combust planet from the Sun by placing unique emphasis to the combust planet so that it can maintain its own identity so that it can work with, rather than under the Sunās influence.
What are the effects of having a planetĀ āunder the beamsā with the Sun?
Having a planetĀ āunder the beamsā is similar to a combustion, but to a lesser degree. While the combust planet is completely covered up by the Sun, having your planetĀ āunder the beamsā can show a planet that can still be partially seen against the Sunās powerful rays. That means that the planet will still have its own sphere of influence separate from the Sun, but this influence can be highly affected by the Sun.
What are the effects of having a planet in cazimi?
Having a planet in cazimi can show a planet that is in the center, or in the āheartā of the Sun. With cazimi, the planet is stronger, and the spotlight is placed onto the planet, since it is free from being burned away by the Sunās rays. People with a planet in cazimi can often have a talent associated with the planet since the manifestation of planets in cazimi are very strong and can be applied externally in a positive manner. The planet in cazimi in this case functions has a complete, strong, separate entity from the Sun and can be seen as a planet that goes beyond the identity and ego.
What are the implications of combustion in astrology?
The two planets that are most likely to be combust are Venus and Mercury. Mercury can only be one sign away from your Sun while Venus can only be two signs away from the Sun. Having a combustion in these two planets can quite common, and it often implies the internal nature of our thoughts (Mercury) and our internal drive to meet our ideals (Venus.) It can often show the strong tie our mind and ideals can have to how we see ourselves.
āThe most paradisiacal human trait is that we are inevitably surprised by deathās reality, despite its inevitability. The death of someone whom you love is a discovery of Death in the abstract as well as the particular: the appearance of disappearance, not only of the dead person, but of yourself. A quicksand pause: the absence of yourself from time. The sense of being ejected from timeās usual flow is common among the grieving, from my anecdotal polling. A writer who also lost a brother young, and violently, told me that at some pointāhe did not give a date or duration that must be exceededāI would ārejoin time,ā but, he added, if my experience turned out anything like his, some days, even decades later, would be āthat first day after again.ā Time, I suspect, will never move as it did before, even after I step back into it.ā
ā Elisa Gonzalez, from āMinor Resurrections: On failing to raise the deadā (The Point #28)
āMy fear of being real, of being seen, paralyzes me into silence. I crave the touch and the connection, but Iām not always brave enough to open my hand and reach out. This is the great challenge: to be seen, accepted, and loved, I must first reveal, offer, and surrender.ā
