She always loved being a scientist and science in general. Kin was that one stereotypical nerdy character in sitcoms, she even had the glasses and braces.
GK: "I wish I could have kept everyone save..."
She secretly blames everything on her instead of DS because she COULD have protected everyone. She SHOULD have. It drives her wild knowing she should have but didn't because she wasn't more alert and died.
Survive: "I wish I was smarter than I am..."
Always thought she wasn't the most intelligent person in the room (my friend made me censor the word meaning unintelligent lol) because if she was smarter she could have done so much more, her family always told her that... Why couldn't she.
Glitter: "I wish I was... Something more."
She always thought she was doing too much of the bare minimum in life.
Contrast: "I wish I'm not indecisive."

Soul was bullied in his youth before training with Gaster, as a result he became worried about letting those around him down and worries about being seen as a failure if he doesn't meet others' expectations of him.
Survivor's guilt, grief over losing his brother to the human guilt over those that fell to his hands. Especially GK, it still torments him that her blood is on his hands. In his words "And for what a little more LV from the pain?". He sought out Lv as the result of the addiction he formed to how it "distances one of their emotions" and of "hurting less". It blinded him to the one person that cared enough to try to help him, but it was too late by the time he realized it.
Rain is constantly aware of the danger he poses to Survive and Papyrus because of his carelessness and the infection he carries (literally). Sometimes refers to himself as a "dumb kid" because he wasn't aware of the Rot Cyst that attacked him. Though I don't think that's stopped either from helping keep it in check so they don't lose him like so many others in the Underground.
Both timelines are canon to Fade's story, in both - he is extremely lonely and misses those that he lost to the human and Kin (now Contrast). Even once, just to let him know that she's alright would make him happy.
Just Glitter being herself is plenty for Galaxy. In his words "Even the smallest star shines the brightest and it doesn't have to do much either, just be there for the other stars and shine brightly."
Plain has tried getting help from Ink, but his code is so messed up that any colors painted on him dissolved and he returned to his monotone state. I headcanon the two being friends over that fact that there's some part of them preventing them from being "genuine".
