ShyOwl’s Star Wars Fics
One Shots (Dinluke)
The Way in the Sky: The man, the Jedi, the individual who had been so calm and detached just moments ago now tripped back out of the elevator, cloak tangling around his feet, with a panicked look on his young face, “I forgot to tell you where we’re going!”
Breaking in a New Normal: In which Luke is Mandalorian bait and Din is thirsting. And he is not the only one.
Searching for a Little Slice: Din is the new owner of a mechanic's garage. Luke owns a bakery across the street. Both are painfully stupid and painfully in love.
Starting at a Hello: (The Single Parent/Teacher AU) Grogu has to switch classes and Din is not too thrilled...until he meets the new teacher and suddenly he finds that maybe he is. Especially when the new (cute) teacher seems to be just as thrilled to meet him.
Of Ink, Succulents, and Blushes: (Tattoo Studio/Flower Shop AU) Luke just wanted to keep to his shop of plants and flowers. He was fine working and hanging out with his friends and avoiding the absolutely gorgeous new business owner down the street who just opened up an incredibly popular tattoo studio. He would be perfectly fine to avoid the man and ensure he never knew Luke existed. Unfortunately, his friend Lando has decided this will not do and Luke has to get around the man asap. When Din sees Luke he is instantly in agreement.
A Negotiation of Supply and Demand: The Rebellion is close to winning the war against the Empire…but they cannot earn victory without help. In desperation they reach out to the powerful Mandalorian system, hoping to find some partnership to end the tyranny once and for all. All negotiations have been met with silence. Until one Luke Skywalker sends a final, pleading message to their king for help. Now, they have a response and a start to a partnership of supply and demand…starting with Luke coming to Mandalore instantly to serve the king’s every whim. (Dark-ish)
Good Boy: A gift of a hybrid was more than Din expected when speakers of the Pykes showed up. So was his desperate, hungry need that sparked inside of him at the sight. The poor thing clearly needed a Master...luckily for him, he just got a king. (Dark-ish)
Into a Dark, Silver Wood: It was supposed to just be a trip to a cabin with friends...then the woods started to speak to him and a man of silver storms started to haunt his every movement...and with the call of "come home" Luke is growing increasingly unsure he will ever set foot out of these woods again. (Dark)
A Journey of Mishaps: Luke and Din bond over their misguided but well-intentioned parenting ways over Grogu and learn that maybe they weren’t as bad as they believed.(BOBF Chapter 7 fix-it)
Multi-chapters (Dinluke)
What the Stars Let in: Peace in the New Republic is not coming as easy as desired. The newly reformed, and quickly growing, Mandalorians and their fearsome king have announced they will not join the New Republic’s hold and it is making keeping the peace become progressively more difficult to the point political marriage may be the only way to prevent bloodshed. However, no one in the New Republic can meet the impossible standards set by the Mand’alor. Well, almost no one. Fortunately, Senator Organa has a very eligible Jedi-warrior brother. (21/21, complete, CURRENTLY BEING EDITED)
Little Bird: It started after Luke finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time during a search for Force-sensitive younglings, doing his best to ignore the politics of the Mandalorian-Jedi war. He was not prepared to find a hidden clan and their dangerous, but magnetic, leader. Nor for the consequences that came of finding him. (Dark, 4/4, complete)
Under a Shimmer of Sunlight: The Jedi lost the Mandalorian war. Luke, born with strong Force abilities, was smuggled out to Tatooine as protection before the mandatory registration act was enforced and all Force-users became property of the Mandalorian society. Twenty-years later, Luke, orphaned and alone, is finally discovered by the expanding Mandalorian Empire and, after a discovery of his very special powers, is presented as a gift to the feared Mand’alor. He did not know what he expected…but becoming the complete focus and fond favorite of the king was a surprise. (Dark-ish, 5/5, complete)
Where Hope is Persevering: Luke was found by Vader when he was just a child and stolen away to become his, and the Emperor's, perfect, merciless heir. Only, even with nearly twenty-years of torture and Dark Force surrounding him, Luke’s compassion and kindness has yet to be broken. His hope, on the other hand, is hanging by a thread. Until a call in the Force pushes him to escape and find a special child and his magnetic father who has a call from destiny of his own. (25/25, complete, TO BE EDITED)
Where We’re Finding Home: (Jango Fett/Obi-Wan, Dinluke) Obi-Wan never got to Tatooine with his special charge. Instead, a man he swore was dead has come for revenge and throws everything Obi-Wan expected out of order. And his plans are not the only one's forever changed...as Jango Fett discovers the Jedi he planned on killing was carrying a newly orphaned baby with him. (3/3, complete)
Like Flurries on Gold: When Luke was sixteen, he was on the rise in becoming one of the best gymnasts in the Olympic circuit. Then the accident happened. Now, he owns his own business and is living a pleasant, if a bit lonely, life baking bread and sweets. Then everything changes when his sister's husband is traded to the famous resident hockey team, the Mythosaurs. Luke expected to just be watching from the sidelines, not involved, despite his painful crush on the star player, the one dubbed the Mando. Luke expected wrong. (15/15, complete)
All the Shadows We Bestow: Luke was born with a shadow over his soul. He was not simply the Chosen One, but a child of a prophecy who is doomed to soil the hearts of those who love him; a harbinger of a new Dark order and authority. He has done everything he can to keep people from becoming poisoned, to avoid his role as this blight, but there is no escaping destiny…and there is no escaping the love Luke has sparked in the galaxy. No matter how desperate or hard he tries. (Dark, 5/5)
How the Blooms Yearn: Din has been king of Mandalore for many years but knows war is on the horizon for his people if he is not careful. In a desperate move, he agrees to an attempt at a shaky truce and was to marry an Imp chosen by the Emperor himself. Sensing an opportunity, he and a mysterious group plot to kill the Emperor Mandalore to the rule it deserves by use of this unknown spouse. They were expecting most anything as an obstacle to their plan…except for Luke.Luke who has constant memories of agony and loneliness; of Master with his yellowed-eyes and crooked teeth and his smile that cuts skin as he purred out toxic words of “monster” into every waking moment of Luke’s life. Luke with his heart on his sleeve and a past shrouded in mystery that may give more opportunity, and trouble, to Din's plan than he originally bargained for. (35/35)
Sunburst: When Luke drifted off into the Force after he faced off against Kylo Ren, he thought perhaps, finally, he was done with suffering and loneliness and so much loss. Instead, he wakes up in the body of his eight-year-old self with a haunting whisper vibrating in his memory: one more chance, little sun, you deserve one more chance. (Luke-focused, gen, Luke & Vader, Luke & Obi-Wan, Dinluke, 31/31)
The Untimely Business of an Office Engagement: Chief Editor Luke Skywalker makes a foolish lie to help protect his employee, basically a secretary, Din Djarin from losing his job. Both hoped to brush it off with some minor inconvenience but, instead, find themselves going to Din's home to "celebrate" their engagement with the very large Djarin clan. Trapped in a quaint village where everyone knows everything, sharing a bedroom, and needing to pretend they are happily in love when Din hates his boss with a passion and the oddball Luke can barely seem to smile most days, it feels like a disaster is waiting to happen. Only, in a strange turn of events, rather than things unraveling, it feels like pieces are falling into place a little too naturally. (Dinluke, 6/6)
There are Whales: The Djarin clan won. Grogu won. He beat his terrifying battle against cancer and is now free to enjoy his life to the fullest. Something his father, Din, is bound to make sure happens. And it starts with moving from their small, enclosed apartment life in the middle of the country and moving to the West Coast. And there is more to this location than just the clean air and close facilities to great medical resources (just to be safe)—it’s because there are whales. It takes a bit of work, and a lot of luck, but Din manages to connect with marine-biologist Dr. Skywalker who is known throughout the science field of being a whisperer to sea creatures and is currently doing a study on the animals Grogu loves so much. And now they’re going to meet, Grogu will be taken on a whale-watching adventure, and the boy will have another fulfillment in his life. Only it doesn't seem to end with just a tour. (DinLuke, 2/2)
A Series of Wayward Intentions: Din could not say he was fond of the Jedi that took his son from him, no matter how understandable and necessary the circumstances were. But then he really met Luke Skywalker and realized there was someone else in the galaxy that needed him. After all, it was impossible to turn back once Din understands on how heartbreakingly fragile the Jedi truly is.
Incomplete Multichapters (Dinluke)
The Timely Business of an Office Romance: Luke has officially moved to the picturesque town of Din's childhood and is dating the man of his dreams after a rather crazy start. Now, it is time to explore what it means to relax, be in a relationship, and, for the first time in a long while, what it means to have a family. Story One: Luke does not want to overstay his welcome at the Djarin-manor. He thinks he should look for a new place and get to moving out sooner than later. His new boyfriend, and said boyfriend’s family, don’t seem to be quite on board with this thinking. (Dinluke, 1/3, one-shot collection, sequel fic)
Moonblight: Luke’s self-promised timeframe for his father is coming to an end and it does not seem like Anakin Skywalker is ready to break free from the grasp of Palpatine nor the Dark-side. Now fearing for his own safety, unable to trust his father, fourteen-year-old Luke does something thought to be impossible that changes the whole of the Force itself…a change that may become uncontrollable and more dangerous than originally believed. Running into familiar, and unfamiliar, faces in the next step of his journey, Luke's own sanity is starting to fray as he questions every move he makes and realizes the depth of depravity the Empire will take to find him. (Sunburst Sequel, Gen-family focus, slow burn Dinluke, 23/35)
Ghosts of the Bent and Broken: Luke Skywalker harbors more than a few secrets. Secrets that could bring ruin to the once grand Republic, now turned Empire. But secrets that could also lead to the destruction of the galaxy if he was not careful. So, he makes his moves in the shadows, becoming nothing more than a ghost, and hiding in plain sight to do his work without interruption and without rest. Living when he should be dead, in a galaxy where the Force-users are fugitives, he does what he can with each passing day. But then a terrible crime is committed against the powerhouse territories of Mandalore; the foundling prince of Mand’alor the Redeemer has been kidnapped. And this action just may spurn an already tumultuous and near broken galaxy into war. Knowing he needs to help, Luke decides to step out into the light for the first time in his life and face the reality of who he is and everything that he shoulders. Only, when working with the cold but handsome Mand’alor, Luke is finding living is a lot more complicated than he expected. (DinLuke, Codywan, 14/?)
