An eclectic fandom blog. Currently mainly BL dramas, mostly Thai. Faves include Not Me, We Best Love, SOTUS, The Ex-Morning, Kiseki: Dear To Me (see pinned for more recs and sorta-recs). Fic on AO3 as tai
About this blog: Hi! I'm an adult, been kicking around fandom for a fair while now. You can find my fic on AO3 here (currently there is one (1) SOTUS fic 4 fics in 3 fandoms and I'm working on a bunch of WIPs so watch this space). I tend to mostly reblog things rather than post much original stuff here but you never know, that might change! If you want to say hi, feel free to drop me a comment or send me an Ask or a DM if they're open (sometimes I lock down DMs a bit due to spambots).
BL Shows dearest to my heart 💖
A vaguely spoilery show mini rec list of sorts. I don't promise Objective Quality but these are my personal faves for a tropey good time as of March 2026. I tend to like ships that start off antagonistic and full of friction then go ride or die for each other, so if you like enemies or rivals to lovers, or two people with a fraught history who make it work, often with complementary doses of banter and pining, some of these might float your boat!
🔥 Not Me (my tag): identical twin shenanigans and ensemble activist chaos, my beloved! Brave, bold, weird and hilarious. I shipped a non-canon rarepair hardest though lmao.
💞 We Best Love (my tag): no words just two seasons of hearteyes. Condensed BL tropes executed supremely well, great acting and chemistry (ok, I guess I had a few words). Ultimate black cat tsundere hisses at sweetheart golden retriever until they make things work. There's nothing much new happening here but it's done so well.
⚙️ SOTUS (my tag): THE OG university BL. Complex, sweet, and PG rated kinky; this 2016 show from a greenish cast still really set the industry bar high and the sequel (SOTUS S) and Our Skyy special ep are also great.
📺 The Ex-Morning (my tag): bitter exes forced to work together after the TV presenter who got dumped (and still doesn't know why) tanks his career on-air, and his producer ex-boyfriend returns to help salvage his reputation. Script was a little undercooked but still a really enjoyable romcom with some delicious angst, fun meta elements, and the most adorable cat ever.
🔮 Be My Favorite (my tag): Kawi is one of The Characters of All Time. Think manic pixie dream girl energy but replace the twee cutesy "dream girl" bit with "nightmare-fuel boy" - and oh and he's actually the protagonist intent on creating worse problems for himself with every timeloop he lives through. Pisaeng didn't quite match his freak quite enough for me to love it as a romance, but as a show about a late-blooming depressed chaos gremlin trying to unfuck his life via the therapeutic powers of timetravel it's unparalleled. Really funny and ultimately uplifting. Highly recommend.
🥷 Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart (my tag): heist hijinks and slowburn fastburn. This show was such a fun wild ride with excellent chemistry and pining from the leads.
🎭 My Stand In (my tag): walking red flag/sunshine woobie pairing done right. Most of the darker stuff doesn't hit right for me but this was an overall high quality show with phenomenal acting that walked a very fine line very well. The plot wobbled a bit towards the end, but don't they all.
🔪 Kiseki: Dear To Me (my tag): Taiwanese mafia silliness and pain. Really funny, hugh quality angst. The pining for both couples - but the second one in particular - was phenomenal.
⚔️ Bad Buddy (my tag): campus frenemies at war, loved the banter, great GL side pair.
🌒 The Eclipse (my tag): ouch, grey repression in high school uniform shorts. One day this top notch actor pair will get a script that sticks the landing; this wasn't quite it but I still loved Akk and Ayan.
🏖️ Never Let Me Go (my tag): bodyguard pining and mafia chaos (Thai edition) but oh the pain.
BL Honorable Mentions
He's Coming To Me (some very wild twists and turns, and Med is the cutest lil ghost boy ever. It's bittersweet and very sad in bits, but I love romances with actual plot), Semantic Error (more enemies on campus, artist vs programmer edition), A Tale of Thousand Stars (classic sweeping romance in the mountains), Moonlight Chicken (Jim!), Old Fashion Cupcake (just a big AWWW), Cherry Magic Thailand (very sweet and lovely), Theory of Love (the meta themes! The gentle satire! Khai, you were a dick but you still won me over - can we blame Off Jumpol for this, yes we can), My Beautiful Man series (a little messed up, very well done), Until We Meet Again (a Thai BL classic: has a lot of very sad bits but a well done plot, some lovely characters and a great friend group).
Seriously flawed but I still got a lot out of them
Between Us (my tag): sunshine and angst in swimming shorts. WinTeam are such a great comfort couple. Watch out for the PTSD and fast forward through the secondary pairs if you get bored, though; The Heart Killers (very silly but enjoyably bonkers action, I believe this is what they call a "romp." I went in expecting to love First & Khaotung's couple the most so Joong as Fadel was a lovely surprise!); Paint With Love (the second pair are dire but Singto and Tae are great as a tsundere CEO meets a free-spirited artist); Last Twilight (went sooo sideways in the last few episodes and Day's blindness cos have been handled much better, but I liked a lot of the show); Love Mechanics series (script was iffy but chemistry was on fire; I hated one of the leads for a while but he redeemed himself eventually. Don't bother with the earlier miniseries though unless you're a true YinWar completist - it did only one thing better than the full show); Pit Babe season 1 (I don't know what was going on but neither did the show - what a high octane incredibly silly joyride. Haven't seen the second season); KinnPorsche (I'll never go back but what a wild weird ride for my first ever BL; still cackling in bemusement over the mafioso's pet hedgehog).
A few Thai het romances worth a watch
Jenny AM/PM has Singto Prachaya (SOTUS, a million other BLs) cross-dressing as a girl in this uni het romantic comedy. There are a lot of hijinks with his fellow idiot best friend Poom Phuripan (My Stand-In). It's mostly silly fun though I have to mentally block out some of the subplots, and extremely queer - girl Jenny has more chemistry with the FL than boy Jenny lol, and there's a cute lesbian side pair.
If you want to see a bunch of GMMTV idols (Krist, Off, Nanon, Lee, Luke) play dive bar fuckbois tamed by the love of a Good Woman (or just a HBIC CEO arsonist, there are FL Options here) then The Jungle is your go-to for a slick silly sexy trashy ensemble romance show. Watch it for the characters and the melodrama, not the plot!
Breakup Service (Off Jumpol & Jurin Khumpiraphan) is a really well done het romcom with a great redeption arc for the asshole with a reluctant heart of gold ML.
Moar about my faves
OTPs
Standouts are WinTeam (Between Us/UWMA), ToddBlack (Not Me, and sadly Not quite canon), KongpobArthit (SOTUS), PhiTam (The Ex-Morning). If I love a show it's usually a given I love the main couple too, but Ai Di and Chen Yi are my Kiseki: Dear To Me faves, and for Not Me I ship just about almost everyone with everyone else, I just love ToddBlack the best despite their limited screentime.
Favorite branded Thai actor pairs
I enjoy watching BL actors work with different people but I do have a weakness for YinWar, KristSingto, and OffGun as actor pairs, and I've watched all sorts of nonsense shows for Off, Kit and Singto. My Dream OT6 is PeBaCa - GMMTV, you have Singto back, please put him in an ensemble BL show with Tay, New, Off, Gun, and Krist. Let them be chaotic queer thirtysomethings!
I have mixed feelings about the Thai BL branded actor pair system - it's clever marketing but also a sharp double-edged sword that can both hem in the actors and encourage toxic fan behavior. But I do enjoy watching KristSingto do their thing. OGs, GMMTV pillars, BL pioneers; whatever you want to call them, I am fond of both their shipwork/imaginary couple schtick and their individual public selves/personas. And I enjoy watching YinWar when I have time to check in on them too, for a different, frequently unserious to completely unhinged, but also very intelligent style of pair.
Not on the list, but might be some day
I have a massive watchlist backlog and while I drop a lot, some shows I just got partway through and then had to put on hold for no fault of their own. So, a tentative recs for Century of Love (very soapy, the leads have a lot of heart and a great family).
We all know and love the Holy Trinity (KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew), but what if you could have one alternative couple from the Almighty Pillars of GMMTV?
Who would you most want to see couple it up for a series, if we were allowed such a blessing?
CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE ALTERNATIVE COUPLE FROM PEBACA
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
A detail from Wu episode 8 that wasn't translated in the subtitles is that Li Puo's ID is what's called an "identity card for person without civil registration status." IRL, these were issued in accordance with a government policy in 2005 to begin providing stateless people - mainly ethnic minorities in border areas - with documentation that would allow them access to basic rights, such as healthcare and education, provisionally until they could enter the legal process to gain proper citizenship.
Li Puo's card was issued in 2002, which is a bit of artistic licence taken by the creators to imply that it enabled him to gain admission to university in 2005, shortly after the peak of the same government's "War on Drugs" that saw thousands of extrajudicial killings.
This access to education is being shown as a path for marginalized persons to pursue betterment of their lives, but Li Puo's was cut short in the bloody incident that led to his downfall.
Perhaps coincidentally, another GMMTV series airing at the same time also touched upon this, with Kongdech in Ticket to Heaven.
@nocturnalsoph already wrote on Kongdech's likely background in this post. The region where the Archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng is based in real life was also home to the Martyrs of Songkhon, seven Catholics who were summarily executed by local police in 1940 during the Franco-Thai war, when the state's distrust of foreign (French) influence was channelled through religious persecution, among other venues.
The state's distrust of the local populace continued into the 70s as the Communist insurgency spread in the area, leading several communities to be cut off from support of the Thai state and denied citizenship, an issue that persisted until 2005, when mounting concerns prompted the enactment of the aforementioned policy, and still hasn't been entirely addressed.
So Kongdech was among the lucky ones, his parents having been able to secure for him citizenship and an education. As he told Tanrak, people like him didn't have many choices in life. Nor did Li Puo, which further contextualizes his resentment of the fate that heaven and earth placed upon him.
To add, while Li Puo's surname Sae-Ming indicates he's of Chinese ancestry (sae being the Thai prefix for Chinese clan names), Ming as a clan name is very rare among the Chinese diaspora in Thailand, the vast majority of whom are descended from Southern Chinese immigrants who arrived by sea.
However, the surname is not too rare in northern Thailand, where Yunnanese Chinese (known in Thai as Haw) form a significant minority. These groups migrated over land, and include Chinese Muslims escaping unrest in the 19th century, as well as remnants of the Kuomintang "lost army" who refused to escape to Taiwan after the defeat of the Nationalist forces in the Chinese Civil War and eventually ended up in Thai territory.
Li Puo's ID showing his birth place in Thoeng District of the northernmost Chiang Rai Province would seem to confirm this being his ancestry. All in all, it's a very small detail that barely appears on screen for a couple of seconds - practically an Easter egg that viewers aren't expected to notice, unless they pause to read and analyse the fine print.
Just finished watching the Sotus universe again (link here for the Discord server for the watchparty, Sotus will definitely come around again) and I've been meaning to make a rec list.
This isn't a full list, there are so many fics I want to put on here and I was trying not to make it 30 fics long so this actually got posted at some point (Sotus will be rewatched in the future and I shall add to this!). I also avoided adding the same author twice.

His mouth hurts because of Arthit.
He can't stop thinking that.
Under the guise of kindness, Head Hazer Arthit ruins Kongpob’s lovely dinner with spicy chillies and orders him to eat it all. Kongpob has a lot of complicated feelings about the situation.
An episode three, season one tag.
in brief, i love you by itsmylifekay
Arthit is just living life, wearing underwear, and Kongpob has a lot of feelings about it.
"Kongpob's chest is frozen, lungs stalled out on an intake of breath as he takes in the bare expanse of Arthit’s shoulders and chest, the smooth slope down to his waistband and the very unfamiliar block of color peeking out from above his gym shorts."
Seven Months and Four Days by Kiranokira
It's their bridge.
When they climb out of the taxi, Kong’s smile reaches his eyes. “Phi,” he says, “if you’re hungry, we didn’t have to come all the way out here.”
Arthit gives him a sarcastic smile. “It’s adorable how you think you’re funny,” he tells him.
the Story of True love (already) between US by EquinoxSolstice
The first serious discussion they ever had as a couple was if they should just share a room off-campus for Kongpob’s first year in SSU as an engineering student.
(In which Kongpob and Arthit met much earlier, fell in love with each other much sooner, and now had to navigate through Kong's first year in SSU, appearing as senior and junior on the surface, while keeping their closer, more intimate relationship under wraps.)
Having a Cat with You by lightly_lightly
Kongphob falls sick. Arthit takes care of him.
love makes you blind (literally) by nuandia
One of the servers has been so kind and brought Kongphob and Arthit a towel. Kongphob gently places it on P'Arthit's head and then scrunches his hair dry. For a quick moment it looks like P'Arthit is going to lean back, but then he halts in the movement and lets Kongphob rub his hair dry.
While May can't see P'Arthit's face, she can see Kongphob's. The absolute adoration she detects in his features is almost enough to overwhelm her. There has been no moment he had ever looked at her even close to this. She can almost hear his voice in her head as he apologises for not reciprocating her feelings and admitting that he likes someone else instead.
Or, Five times Kongphob and Arthit try to hide their relationship and one time they aren't (not like everyone doesn't already know)
Wife by MeatOfTheBone
“Kongpop, your wife looks jealous,” “Yeah Kongpob, is your wife not satisfied with you?”
Arthit sneered. Recalling the comments had flipped a switch in him. He wanted nothing more now than to bite and mark Kongpob, take him roughly so every time he tried to walk or sit tomorrow, he would remember who the wife was.
Something Different by doctorbeam
Prem shook out his hand as he walked towards the pharmacy. It still stung where he threw those punches at the cowards beating up his junior. His head was hurting and it seemed like every muscle in his body ached; he was grateful for those guards that came to break up the fight because he didn't know how much longer he could have used his body to shield Wad like he did.

It hits Maprang then. Sitting in Tew’s dorm and eating now-cold noodles as they look up movie times. She’s never done this before - planned to see a movie with a boy without any expectation of more later. She’s with a boy who treats her the way May and Prae do. They’re friends. Real, proper friends.
Or, Maprang and Tew's friendship starts with a YouTube channel.
Ask me, I won't say no, how could I? by pomidor
Arthit remembers that it hasn't always been easy when Kongpob was studying in China, but sometimes problems lead to unforeseen improvements.

Kongpob ✘ Arthit ► I like me better when I'm with you [BL]
I was writing a thing about SOTUS and it tried to autocorrect "hazers" to "hazards". Which is not NOT wrong - both Arthit and Kongpob pose hazards to each other's hearts.
Arthit gives Kongpob his SOTUS gear (aka his heart), symbolising his acceptance of their new relationship.
Kong is a doting boyfriend and wants to duck out of hazer duty to spend time with his boyfie (final ep of season 1).
I know I do have a rocker!Krist agenda and he did do a rocker scream at his solo showcase but what I mainly took away was how sincere and intimate the entire set felt 🥺🥺🥺
he noticed someone crying in the audience and came down to give her a hug 😭
I'm sure there have been times when you've felt weak
Times where you've felt like crying
But you thought it made you appear weak
But it's okay to cry - let it all out.
I made a reference card for people to distribute to the masses.
If this fandom is going to continue being weirdly obsessed with top and bottom dynamics, then in return I demand everyone at least be educated. Spread the word far and wide. \:D/
