Melrose gets teased a lot for having two mommys. There are a lot of children who are mean to her about it, as well as the fact that she doesn't have a father. It doesn't bother her, though. Margot and Judy have given her a life that earns no complaints. She's happy, healthy, and she is loved. When children make fun of her, she knows she has more than she could ever hope for, more than any of them have, that's for sure.

    { ☼ }  when nobody's looking, she makes faces. silly faces that'll probably get her in trouble. but now, she just can't help herself.

                 she wants a dog, but he doesn't look like a stray. she'll snuggle him anyway.

     ”Of course dear. Where’s your mommy?”

    { ☼ }  ❛Mommy is at home sick, Mama is at the gym, and my babysitter is an idiot. Thanks, mister!❜ the little girl makes a grab for the strange man's hand and tugs in the direction of the swings.

      you would be surprised how rarely an actual compliment comes her way; that accounts for the laugh, the grin, she is forever charmed by the blunt nature of small children. she looks around, expecting an embarrassed parent somewhere, a sister or brother that hadn’t been keeping  a very good eye on this little one. it’s just the pair of them, though.

    { ☼ }  ❛My mama went over to the stables to buy me a new horse. She died because when her foal died, her heart broke. What are you doing all alone here?❜

          she talks too much in the presence of strangers, really. quite a bit more than she should, even. mommy always told her that it's not safe, but the blonde doesn't look like much, and you should always tell a girl she's pretty when looks like she needs it. the little girl scoots closer, maybe a little too close, and pulls gently at a strand of blonde hair. she wants hair like that, straight and pale, not curly and penny coloured like her own.
