Some of the 2010s-era Loki stans were annoying but some of them were very justified. They put Tom Hiddleston in handcuffs and a muzzle. Then they put him in chains and a collar. Then they had him look waifishly sad in a prison cell. Then they put him in handcuffs again. Then they chained him up again. Where else were teenage girls going to see that.

The Enigma of Amigara Fault

This short story by Junji Ito is about a fault that appears in Amigara mountain after an earthquake. The earthquake exposes countless human-shaped holes in the mountain which seem to have been made about a thousand years ago. People, intrigued by these  silhouettes, gather at the site and that’s when things get creepy.

Not to keep reanimating the discourse but like. "Jason wouldn't have been in danger at all if he listened to Bruce" is such an insane take. It makes the mistake that majority of these takes seem to, which is ignoring Sheila. Sheila, who had a gun pointed at Jason as soon as he stepped through the warehouse door. Implying that it was on or very near her person the whole time. Sheila could have shot him at any time. He was at the mercy of a stranger and her kindness the minute Bruce, Jason's legal guardian and the World's Greatest Detective, left him alone with her. He was never safe. He was always at risk of harm or death.

It also ignores that *Jason didn't know Joker was in the warehouse*. Sheila specifically said that he left and told him to follow her. As far as Jason knows, The Joker could be ANYWHERE at this point. He has no reason to believe that he's inherently safer staying where he is. In fact, if the Joker were lurking around monitoring Sheila to make sure she's doing his bidding, discussing the situation out in the open would have been a bad idea!

Jasons fatal flaw was not recklessness or anger or some deep seeded evil - it was trust. He trusted his mom. His mom told him to follow her somewhere safe to discuss the situation and he did. Because he trusted his mom. Because Bruce left him alone with her. Like I'm sorry you can't even argue stranger danger because 1. It's His MOM and 2. It would still be more Bruce's fault than Jason's because whose the adult legally responsible for this child he is leaving unattended with a stranger??? If Jason is at fault for his death for trusting his mom, Bruce is EXTRA at fault.

like the betrayal’s always going to be worse if they cared about you and it didn’t matter. someone discards you because they didn’t give a shit, then you can be angry about that, you can feel vindicated in that, you can get over it. but if they can look you in the eyes and say “I love you. I would make the same choice again.” You will never sleep peacefully again, is all.

"Jason's death is a tragedy because it couldn't have been prevented it was always going to end this way he was always going to die" top 3 statements that tell me you never actually read Jason's Robin run. What if Sheila checked Jason's pulse before declaring him dead. What if she'd never lied to him. What if Bruce never left Jason alone with her. What if Bruce went after Jason immediately and begged him to come home. What if Bruce hadn't accused Jason of killing Garzonas. What if Bruce found Gloria's body instead of Jason. What if Bruce hung out with Jason outside of cases. What if Bruce encouraged Jason to do clubs and extracurriculars and make friends. What if Jason was closer with the Titans. What if Bruce didn't give Jason Robin until after Jason was already settled in the manor, or gave him the chance to pick his own identity or costume. And on and on. If one or two little things had changed, Jason could have been saved. The tragedy of Jason Todd is that his death was so god damned preventable if even one person had actually cared about Jason and his mental state BEFORE it became too much for him. And it's even more tragic that the grief-stricken lie Bruce constructed about a boy who couldn't have been saved has replaced the truth so completely that even those outside the text have begun to believe it.

to be clear yes this applies to jason and bruce but i also wrote this like right after reading Nightwing (2011) #30 so dick was very much on my mind. it's also about bruce and his parents. it's also about bruce showing more care about damian when he was trying to revive him than he ever did when damian was alive. its about how he's made of fear. fear of loving when the other person can act as an unpredictable factor. it's about an emotional necrophile, really.
