sorry to cullenpost on the dashboard but like idk its like he grew up in a stupid gay lil village in ferelden right. like he almost definitely grew up poor or at the very least Not Wealthy. and he joined the templars under the idea that he was protecting Both the mages and civilians from each other, then realized that it's actually the former that's the true threat and then endeavored to instead become a soldier to protect those who cannot protect themselves. THEN he gets deployed to the city with like what he believes to have one of the worst apostate crises in thedas, works his way up to knight captain in record time because he's that devoted, and then this fereldan refugee comes by. and they're solving all the problems that cullen didnt even know exist because they're all happening in the poor areas of the city, which cullen has literally never been and—hang on. WHY are there no templars in lowtown. why are they so focused on protecting the elite, the ones that live Right Next To The Guards, when the real crime and danger and problems are happening to people that can't defend themselves? and then that's where his gradual loss of faith in the order comes all the way up to meredith literally burning all his ideals to the ground in front of his face by making a warzone out of kirkwall.
its great we get actual cullen development that isnt like entirely offscreen and we get actual in-universe acknowledgment of the weird unspoken class disparity with the chantry and we also get like a logical reason why cullen still believes in An order, just not the one that's been corrupted by people who separate human beings into categories of things to be controlled rather than individuals to be helped.
Apparently in Origins you were originally able to save Jowan from execution by conscripting him into the Grey Wardens, but it unfortunately got cut. Had that been an option, would Bree have taken it?
Absolutely! Jowan was Bree’s closest friend (her “bosom companion” to borrow her turn of phrase) and Bree regards the Grey Wardens as an attractive alternative to a death sentence. Now, I’m assuming that this opportunity was originally written for the end of the Arl of Redcliffe questline, but I love the idea of Bree immediately turning around after her own conscription and trying to conscript Jowan in turn.
Alright, my Dragon Age Origins Unofficial Remaster mod has been dumbed-down and re-uploaded for anyone who wants it.

say what you want about solas but you have to respect that he's a girl's girl. he's like one of those dogs that growls at all men and will only snuggle with women. elgar'nan? he's never despised anything to the core of his being more than that guy. falon'din? he can't help himself but to spill the tea about that psychopath. and yet mythal? even with all their weird and twisted history? she's an old friend. he hisses at elgar'nan for even deigning to speak her name. he calls ghilan'nain 'brilliant' and 'sensitive' even though she's always been transparent about the fact she thinks the blight is Good Actually. the only remark he has about andruil out of everything he could've said is that she's the god of sacrifice. sacrifice, king? i think that might be putting it mildly. i just fucking love that he turns into a chest-beating idiot in front of any man but he's for sure cried in front of every woman he's ever known
The real reason he's not bi
Love this addition by @spiritbladed
This has probably been said before, but this thought literally won't leave my head.
