It was rare that Levi came to bed with you. Not because he didn’t like sharing a bed with you. It was quite the opposite; he just never seemed to have the time. Spending most of his evenings within the confines of his office. Filling out paperwork, developing battle strategies, or have some tea. He would stay there till daybreak - you assumed he would sleep there as well. You were wrong of course; the man always carried the same sleepless look in his eyes. You tried many times to get your stubborn lover to bed, succeeding only a few times.

However, tonight, Levi came to bed of his own accord. Slipping under the covers and wrapping an arm around your waist. His hand rested gently on your stomach. You slowly lay your hand over his, lacing your fingers together. Wondering why your lover never came to bed sooner. The warmth of his body against yours brought you such peace and comfort. You quickly dozed off, a soft smile on your as sleep took you. But your night would not be a restful one.

He trembled slightly next to you; not yet registering your presence. You reached out to touch his shoulder - that was a mistake. Levi took your wrist in his hand and pinned you against the bed. His face was scrunched up in anger and frustration. Though his eyes were empty as if he wasn't entirely there. Tears continued to fall from his eyes onto your face. Drops hitting your cheeks, mouth, and neck.

He took his hands in yours and sighed. Kissing each palm, each finger lightly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and brought him down. You guided him to lay next to you; moving his bangs from his face.

“Please, ” you pleaded.

He looked into your eyes - his pain mirrored in your own. He knew you wanted to help. But who was he to push his pain onto you? At least not tonight, he would wait.

“I promise to tell you. But not tonight, not now.”

A sad smile formed on your face and you kissed his forehead.

“I'm here Levi. When you're ready I'll be here.”
