hey man. nice regional dialect. mind if i apply some baseless assumptions about your personhood to it? i was also gonna prescribe morality to it as well. if that’s cool with you
There are no sex scenes, and all the food looks horrible.
you are not immune to inventing an arbitrary set of rules that only you have to adhere to
you want to be romantically attracted to someone? the thing that killed romeo and juliet?
you know those studies showing that cursing helps with pain tolerance or whatever. that’s how i feel about making my weird little noises to get through my basic daily activities. sometimes you just have to go hggblaaaah for a minute so you can find the strength within yourself to get up or wash the dishes or send an email. mmmnneh. urgh. the torments are unending but you can always make some little sounds about it.
in this dark age of censorship, remember that if ovid managed to stay a pervert during the moralising tyranny of the augustan age, you can do the same now. don't worry about what happened to him next
[looking at people younger than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at people older than me] you have your whole life ahead of you [looking at myself] its over
pretty much sums up how i’m feeling about the finale. i’ll have more thoughts in… some amount of time. probably. my brain is broken.
nothing legolasts forever
mad again. crowley's whole point is that humanity doesn't deserve to suffer for the crimes committed by heaven and hell, so his solution is to create a new universe without angels or demons. sacrificing themselves for humanity, sure, I get it. but what about all the humans who were wiped out with the book of life? god gave them the option of returning all those humans, and instead his solution is to start all over a la the great flood, something crowley was staunchly opposed to. so not only is there no happy ending for crowley and aziraphale, but there's no happy ending for recently corporeal jesus, or mrs sandwich, mr arnold, nina and maggie, adam and the them, newt and anathema. it's job's kids all over again. they didn't want the new children the angels offered them, job and sitis wanted their children back. it's the same choice they gave adam. he wanted things to go back to normal with heaven and hell behaving themselves so he could play with his friends. how could crowley and aziraphale be happy sacrificing their existence knowing it condemns all of the humanity they know and love?
Good Omens S3 Thoughts
The whole point of the S1 ending was for things to go back to the way they were. No war, no heaven on earth, no hell on earth, just get back to life. The same way it was a few days before. The very first day of the rest of their lives.
But in S3 when given the option to have everything come back just as it was not minutes before, the answer is no? Their answer was no? The universe is not the same, it died and stays dead. Aziraphale and Crowley are gone. Yes, there is a non-God-centric universe, but nothing is the same. You have elements of similarity, but ultimately this is a separate world. This is not the first day of the rest of their lives. Why would I care about two characters I have never met before?
the entire point that kept coming up over and over again is that even though crowley and aziraphale are there on earth, they don't actually have to like, do anything. coz humans just do everything on their own. like neither heaven nor hell have really any influence on what happens. and the afterlife has never been portrayed as unfair. like the show has never been a critique of either godly meddling or of the sorting of souls into hell vs heaven. the entire world was just fine chugging along on its own and none of the angels or demons or prophecised apocalypses affected it at all. adam even made life slightly nicer if anything. so did jesus 2. what exactly was the reason why all 8 billion people in this world deserved to die. and in what universe would either crowley or aziraphale be okay with their entire world beind destroyed. let alone with each other dying.
i need (abruptly stops talking & stares at some random fixed point with a vacant expression)
